This is a good idea, but it doesn't go far enough! Will it stop cheating at the poll, or manipulation of voting machines, or the sanctioned removal of minorities from the voter rolls? Why don't we do this, whichever Party prevails in the general election and its candidate wins the Presidency, it will be automatic, the other Party will automatically be considered a quorum in the Congress. The result: Washington will be balanced and the money saved can be used to create jobs!

This is a poor name for publicly funded campaigning. You are "owned" by whoever decides which candidates get the money.

Ron Paul has shown how to crash through the voter apathy barrier. The voters CHOOSE him. The voters don't CHOOSE to give money to some FUND where the choice would be made for them.
