@joshlongley Well I don't believe in God and hopefully when you are arguing the legality of abortion you keep it secular or prove the existence of God and that each human who's life begins at conception is in fact a gift from God that God doesn't want to die as early as conception. Until then a fetus is a rearrangement of organic matter into a new organism like any other until it obtains person-hood.

The only problem I have with the "Pro-life" movement is : what's going to happen to all those unwanted babies ? A lot of them are probably going to an orphanage or are going to be abused by parents who didn't want them to exist in the first place. Surely an unborn child is better than a child living a life of pain, no ?

the human race is expanding and so is expending all natural recources at a rate that we cannot sustain. any other speices of animal on earth can keep its population constant and can survive endlessly on a small amount of recources. only one other type of organisim does what humans do. a virus. it will eat, kill and destroy everything in an area and then expand. leaving barrens behind.
Humans are not animals. We are but a virus, leeching on the earth until it to is gone.

Peace for the human species is a unattainable commodity. We are a violent species, not all of us are, but some. It only takes a couple of bad apples to taint humanity, Hitler, Hussein, Genghis Khan. Hoping for world peace is erroneous, i mean i hate to be so morose, but if it hasn't happened in 7 thousand years, why now? The dangers of war in present day are more then ever. I above all wish for peace, but know we will ultimately induce our own demise.

@phlogios In both Canada and the US, a fetus can be aborted from conception up until birth. It's true that the more advanced the child becomes, the harder it is to find a clinic that will perform the abortion, but it's legal.

Abortion may not be a good choice to reduce human numbers, but overpopulation is not a myth. If we keep reproducing and consuming the way we do and we will watch more katrinas, more hunger, and more extintion. Is extintion also a myth? Is global warming also a myth?

Abortion's ok, there's good reasons behind it. I am thankful for no being aborted. But the one thing that confuses me is why worry about humans? We have other things to worry about, like animal extinction and world conflicts.
