  • i need some of them freezer bags! vacuum packed!

  • feel free to check my boilie making video, if it helps you even a little bit, thats great, please let me know your advice!

  • pure credit to you man, I wouldnt bother with my industrial paint mixer, 20mm table mounted on a 45 degree angler, I can bust out 20 kgs, in a two hour period, and that should change when my 10kg sausage stuffer comes! your the man for putting that much work into those boilies!

  • good vid mate specially if people have never made boilies . you should invest in a gun and rolling table tho, it saves you loads of time mate.

  • @rockypup1968 Thanks bud...that is what it was aimed at. New comers to bait making, just to give the idea of whats going on with boilies and how to get started with out all the "you need 8 million items bought form so and so". As an update I do have tables now, no gun but I have the Gardener sausage roller as well as a few sized tables

  • great video matey

  • @DSAchilles Thanks!

  • Great vid very helpful also diggin the Benny Hill tunes!

  • @chanocua1980 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it man. I know it isn't some crazy tough recipe but many anglers have no idea what a boilie even is over here so I felt it was a good starting point..

And I thought since Benny Hill was a big fan of education he wouldn't mind...

  • that vid is halarious

  • hey i only had self raising flour and well 1 yes they got bigger but as soon as i took them off the boil they popped up good job i only put 5 in or it would of been madness in the pan

  • @dhudson369 Madness indeed lol...hopefully they work out for you!

  • THank you very much! Doing this today!

  • @discusaddict Your welcome..hope they work out well for you!

  • got a 36 pounder yesterday with this =)

  • @iiRubAndJasperHD Very awesome..that is a great fish, well done bud. Glad the bait worked for you!

  • @alltrikedup Your welcome..glad you found it useful bud! Best of luck with them!

  • The best tip on YouTube thanks.

  • @vision2sound Your welcome, glad you found it useful!

  • So after you made the base mix and you start the eggs you can mix the colour and flavouring into the eggs?

  • @unimatrix666 Liquid color and flavor into the eggs, powder color or flavor into the dry mix.

  • if you want them to be pop ups put them in the microwave for a minute

  • @zacajawea1 That is a great tip as well..I usually start at about 1 minute and go up in 15 second increments depending on the size I roll them.

  • @KBPutt Thanks. Yes I am the same Blackstone from Back of the Landing net's forum..great bunch of guys over there. Haven't been on the site as much lately though :( I've been busy.

Nah you don't need a cool bag, I just happened to have them so I used them. Any bag will work as long as you can keep the air out. They should last 3-6 months at least in the freezer in an airtight bag/container. Though longer probably won't hurt them much. I tend to freeze and re-freeze mine through the year.

  • @davidnerd Did you go fishing with these boilies yet mate?

  • @davidnerd hello mate, how did you get on with these boilies?

  • Has anybody had any sucess with this recipie in the uk at all? I am considering trying it. Thanks.

  • great vid pal love the benny hill music lol

I never knew you could use ground up dog biscuits as part of the base mix, will try this soon

  • @TheDukeOfBoots Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Many of the ingredients in the dog food are similar to many things used in boilies. I've found that mixing and matching makes some great colored simple to make boilies. It is also a great starting point for people looking to get into bait making but overwhelmed by all the commercial additives on the market now a days.

  • Roll all your sausages and lay them out next to each other. Then use a large knife to cut them up into boilie sized parts. You can then easily pick them up and finish rolling them into nice balls. The great thing is that they will all be the same size and it's much faster!

  • @Magyarvadasz This is a great tip! I have a rolling table as well that makes life a breeze... ;)

  • what is it for a pump and plastic bags and where do i get them?

  • @4Arne It wasn't all that expensive. This one is made from Ziploc, though I admit I am unfamiliar with what products you would have available..I can find these at my local grocery store. They are not needed by any means, I just find them an easy/cheap/available toy.

  • Nice video

  • the inside looks like gingerbread :)

  • @mopster95 Hehe it does..doesn't taste like it though. Let me tell you...

  • @BlackstoneCarp yes i noticed :)

i'm just finished with making mine .

i hope i'll catch some great carp on this tomorrow :D

  • oh boy do they smell when you make them!!!

  • Great vid - I'm not a carp fisherman but when I was a youngster (50+ yrs ago) my grandmother made boilies (dough balls) and used anise oil for flavor but that's all I can remember of her recipe. On occasion I will grab a box of Wheaties and a can of Crush strawberry soda to make dough balls and it works great. Having watched your vid I now believe I will give boilies a try. Thanks!!

  • great video, i used your recipe, except i replaced the dog food with soybean meal from a local feed supply store, and used superrior pineapple flavoring, came out a light yellow color. caught a 18.7lb carp last sunday on this!

  • Sweet and grats on a nice fish man. Like I said this is a very basic recipe and I'm glad it inspired ya to make some changes and give me a go!

  • @BlackstoneCarp i want to try this as well now thanks for the really awesome clip man and you told it in a easy way to understand :)

  • how do them bags work, it didnt look like it had a hold for when u pump it out, so how dose the air come out?

  • There is a hole/flap where I put the pump on. It allows air to get pulled out then seals in on itself to stop air from going back in.

  • Great video. I'm gonna try this recipe. Do these work as pop ups if you put them in the microwave?

  • Thanks. They should.

You could also use the paste instead of boiling it and wrap it around a piece of dry dog food to pop it up.

  • nice vid... 2 questions :

    1) did you cought big carps with it? like 20pound +?

    2) What if u don't have a blender/kitchen robot?

    tQ

  • Thank you, two answers!

    1) Yes, I have caught many high teen/low 20's with this very basic mix.

    2) You could use a blender, coffee grinder, food processor, or even a mortar and pestle or maybe a plastic bag and a hammer, it would just be tougher going and chunkier but that is ok!

Keep in mind these are simple and a good starting point for boilie making. This is what I started with then over many years of trial and error came up with my Dat Food boilies which I use in almost all my videos now.

  • ohyeah nice idea... I asked my grand-mother for a coffee grinder...

Bud 1 more thing ; u said something about the eggs ' the scalp'? why do u misk the 'whole' egg? (i'm not english couldn't understand that part so good)

    Thx!

  • I think you mean the shell? I mix the whole egg including the shell because I feel it helps promote feeding. Carp like things like crayfish/mussels/shrimp etc. They use their molars/teeth to chew food up and will blow pieces back out through their gills. So when they chew the boilies, they tend to spit or blow the egg shell pieces back out, just like they would if eating shrimp/crayfish..which can trigger feeding in other carp in the area. I hope that makes sense. The same is true of birdseed.

  • I see...

    thank you for reply!

and alot of big fish in 2010..

    and a happy new year!!

    greetz!

  • Very Simple , Thx for the videos, now to figure out how to tie the rigs...Ive got carp on just a basic line n hook but I'm see these weird ones now just for boilies. Be nice if you could show us the how to tie the rigs as well.

  • weell the idea is to put the bait before the hook so thy dont fill it untill they suck it in,the mouth, so u could use a spring tied to the hook and srew the boily on the sprring whne they suck in the spring they hok themself before they fell the hook
