I love Diana's version of this song. She sings it with much depth and conviction. It brings me to tears and reminds me that the greatest gift we ever recieved was the gift of our Saviour Christ Jesus. I pray Ms. Ross is just as sincere in singing this song and that she knows the Saviour that she is singing about.
glamor and hype aside Diana Ross has a pretty pair of pipes an actresses instincts and a unique way with a song. She is a great american pop icon and a genuine superstar.
After all these years it still renders me to good tears. Thanks for reminding me the power of having a personal relationship with the Lord our Father. You sing it like a sincere intimate testimony not a performance. It's the TRUTH.
This is one of the best versions I've heard. Other artists tend to over do it with the vocal gymnastics. It is such a beautiful melody, and Diana has done a fantastic job. And I'm not even a fan of her's.

Her family sang this at her mother's funeral. It was her favorite song.
