  • Is this for underarms or just the general body?

  • I tried this 2 yrs ago after watching this video and I still do. So good. Thanks guys :)

  • I love it!!! Do you know how to naturally get rid of dark underarms. Or does this help rid dark underarms?

  • Thank you for uploading this video, it's really helpful. XX

  • Id really not prefer Rubbing Alchohol Allot of solvents are linked to lymphomas

How do I know I had it recently and had to have 5 mos of chemotherapy I did the research. three is another type made with cornstarch Baking soda Coconut oil and essential oils Just trying to help And use natural toothpaste as well without sodium laurel sulfate and flouride Shampoo also has the sodium laurel sulfate

  • could i use a frgrance oil instead if i wanted too ?

  • Great idea, I have been using the mineral/salt deoderant but this sounds cool and fresh! Thank for the video :)

  • i'm from the hood so i know that baby powder & cheap lotion mixed together work very well ,I tested it on 2 teenage boy before their game & after the game both boys was fresh like out of the shower! NO LIE, it worked so well the coach asked me with kind of baby powder i used, every thing came from the dollar store.

  • Cool! Great job you guys! =) I love homemade homemade products. Thanks for posting! =))

  • Ok,can u just use rubbing alcahol with out the scent,or is it nescesary?

  • OH Wow. Can't wait to try this. Thanks for posting!

  • I use 6 parts corn starch and 1 part baking soda (NOT powder). Mix it up, put it in a sealed bowl - I use a cheap plastic Glad type bowls you get 4 for a couple dollars - and just use a powder puff to "dust" yourself. Works great under the arms, chest, etc...

  • i dont like orange oil because it makes me dizzy... can i use any essential oil?

  • @emogirl239 im sure you can, the essential oils are used mainly for the way they smell, it's like choosing a flavor or a scent - they have rosemary, lavender, and all kinds of really neat scents!

  • NICE! Imma do that!

  • very nice video! well done. by the way, you both look like sisters, not mother and daughter. :-)

    thank you for the recipe.

  • Arrowroot is better to use instead of corn starch.

  • What? Your natural deodorant is just alcohol. There's no way it lasts 24 hours!

  • smells awful!!!!!!!1

  • Can you use witch hazel instead of alcohol. ?

  • @black7jesus I sure wouldn't recommend it...Witch Hazel smells BAD!

  • @black7jesus Yes you can. Some people react to alcohol and I'd recommend witch hazel. The smell will dissipate as it dries.

  • Heres my mixture. Alcohol evaporates too fast. So I added baby powder for consistency. I also added Baby oil to the mix for a long lasting scent. I may need to patent this recipe. Because it works for a full 24hrs. WOW.

  • @NBAGOATS can you tell me the mesurments??? and 24 hours!

  • @1rosiestar1 Yes. Full 24hrs plus. BUT you must make sure its not the 70% alcohol. It gotta be higher than that to last. I also add powder to the mix with the baby oil. Keep in mind that this mixture is for roll-on. It helps to thicken the texture.

Sorry,I don't have the measurements. I just pretty much eye it. But if i ever do i'll be sure to give it to you.

  • @NBAGOATS LOL!!! Make a video!

  • @NBAGOATS I like your idea...but how much baby oil and baby powder did you use??????

  • @babylove201089 I give it a nice little squeeze with a few shakes of powder. I no longer use the powder though. I found out what deoderant companies use in their stuff and you can purchase it seperatedly. I haven't bought any deoderant since posting here. And can mix and formulate my own smells.

  • Can you use baby oil?

  • @SaltineCrackaAss I don't use Baby oil because its not a natural product.

  • @SPARKWISDOM You use rubbing alcohol but not baby oil???

  • do u HAVE to use essential oil?

  • @dancechic2100 Yes, use an essential oil. It's essential!

  • do u HAVE to use essential oil

  • sounds good and easy to make. will definately give it a try. what does the alcohol do? doesn't it burn and also does any of this stain the clothing? good video.

  • That was so imformative

  • i love your videos, they are fantastic, thank u for sharing it....

  • @5708758 spirits can usually be found in any liquor store. vodka is a fine substitute for pure ethanol. but if you want the pure stuff you can purchase it online or check with local health food shops. spirits have many uses and is a common ingredient in essential oil perfumes.

  • sure its dsnt damage the skin?

  • @helloweoeoeo it hasn't for me. :) I've found now that just using Dr. Bronner's on a cotton ball works fine too.

  • If I was making this for my son what essential oil would you recommend to give it a more masculine scent?

  • @iamaksd Use a few drops of Dr. Bronner's soap. Don't worry about the scent. It works for odor control :)

  • @iamaksd I would use a nice sandalwood essential oil! men love that smell

  • Do you need to use alcohol?

  • @HorsesGuitarsBallet YES and use 90% or more alcohol. I'll be doing an update of this recipe soon. Thanks for watching!

  • YAY! SO glad i found your channel, thanks!

  • @WitchesHallow Me too!!! I'll be doing an update of this recipe soon :)

  • very good for trying to get away from the aluminum poisoning of the population. dont even get me started on toothpaste lol... but fyi isopropyl alcohol is a toxic solvent that causes cancer, turns into acetone in the body and depresses the nervous system. use grain alcohol if any at all. the very best odor control is done internally. what you put in your body you get out. things that are dead will make you smell rotten. a mostly live, raw vegan diet will cure a heavy aroma.

  • @mothmanifest So true! I thought about going vegan, yet I really like chicken! I'll consider the grain alcohol. Thanks!

  • does tis actually work???????

  • @SpeedReader1000 Yes! Do it for yourself and be sure.

  • @SpeedReader1000 Yes to control odor.

  • Thank you for this simple recipe- never thought of using the rubbing alcohol. I saw another recipe using a cornstarch/baking soda mix that I plan to try also. People should REALLY read the labels on store bought antiperspirant/deodorants! I want to stop using the store brands that possibly could cause kidney/liver problems!

  • @gemini16th I agree!! We need to read the labels on everything we make :) Thanks for watching!

  • @gemini16th I have a video about the cornstarch. Just search my channel. Baking soda, corn starch and coconut oil. My teen and tween use it :)

  • I know everybody reads the directions on any Deodorant and Antiperspirant, do not apply to broken skin. Don't put on any of these on right after you shave. The store products are absorbed into the broken skin. That's a bad thing. So that being said,"This is a great idea." Thanks!

  • @hokeydokeytime Thanks for the info. So true...common sense is key!

  • AWESOME!! THANK YOU!!

  • SparkWisdom I would also like to recommend Dr. Bronners soaps for your family. It is expensive per bottle but they last forever because it is so concentrated! You can get it in CITRUS which will complement your deodorant spray nicely.

Also. This deodorant spray might be a little harsh on shaved skin...doesn't it burn real bad? How bout witch hazel?

  • @musicimprovedme I enjoy using Dr. Bronners soaps! I have them in Peppermint, Citrus and Almond. I use them to wash clothes and clean as well. Yes, the alchohol burns a little, yet regular deoderant used to irritate me when I shaved. I haven't used witch hazel :)

  • i saw similar recipes but with water instead of alcohol. can you please clarify what exactly is the purpose of the alcohol and how it is different than water in this mixture. Does it kill the odor-causing bacteria, does it help the fragrance from the oil stay longer, etc? Thanks!

P.S. In the comments someone mentioned this recipe is better than just alcohol, so I'm curious, can you also use just the alcohol?

  • @martin984 Use alcohol only...it kills the bacteria that makes the smell. Some people are naturally fresh and have no scent, others have to wear deoderant. The essential oil doesn't last long at all in the mixture so I wouldn't even use it. Just use a natural cologne or perfume.

  • I started using the chrystal stone also, but I am about saving money and making my own products. How do you handle perspiring at work for your clothing? Thanks.

  • @cowgirldefrost I had to go with the 91% alchohol since the girls' seem to need the "extra" staying power. I shower mid-day after a workout so the perspiring extra isn't a problem. The crystal stone works good too. I just like the idea of making it. People are always shocked :)

  • Okay. I have some 99%, so the purer the alcohol, the better the keeping power? I would like to make mine also.

  • @cowgirldefrost yes! 99%? Where'd you get that? LOL! With 99%, I barely perspire at all.

  • I got the pharmacists at Walmart to order it for me. Any pharmacy will order it for you...By the case, though. It is cheap.

  • I know this post is old, but I wanted to answer, try making deodorant with alochol and see how you like it.

use coconut oil, some essential oils that kill bacteria (letia, tea tree etc...) some arrowroot powder (absorbs moisture) and some beeswax or some sort of plant wax to harden, pour into a regular deodorant container that you find in the retail stores and let it harden, don't leave deodorant sitting @ 85, will melt, have fun!

  • @psychmaj323 Awesome! Thank you! I have a video using the coconut oil. That works great too.

  • I use a crystal deodorant stone from CVS.

Mostly Potassium Sulfate with other minerfal salts.

It lasts a year or more and it helps prevent the odor-causing bacteria from forming tol begin with.

  • @tomken8d2 Yes, I used that before too. I liked it!

  • SPARKWISDOM

I have a brand new one right now!

  • are you serious!

  • @sharrall Let me break it down for you. Since we use Mitchum deodorant, I was purchasing 8 bottles per month and spending $24 per month on deodorant and that was if one of my daughters did not lose it. They have gym at school and keep 1 at home and 1 at school and the same goes for me. So this being cheap was actually going to produce a yearly savings of almost $300. Thats a BIG win for me because Im not simply saving 5 bucks a month, Im saving a few hundred a year.

  • great job... i will try this =)

  • We love it!

  • Thanks for posting this. I want to try it. I've used a ton of natural deodorants and didn't find them to be as successful as I'd like. The only one was plain baking soda dusted lightly under my arm. It never left me w/a smell but it tore my skin up. Ended up w/highly hyperpigmented underarms. Do you think this works on sensitive skin?

  • Hey Jewell! Try it on an inconspicuous place first. This really works...believe me, if it works on a teen girl, it will work on anyone!

  • Gonna try this

  • Let me know if it worked :)

  • Great! I will def try it

  • Thanks! You've given me an idea.

  • Hey! Did you try it?

  • @SPARKWISDOM Remember the old BRUT deo? I loved the smell of it as a teenager and used some one day. Felt like someone had a blowtorch on high under there. lol I remember checking and the first ingredient listed was alcohol. What I did was mix a small amount up and put a drop or too in a bit of regular whipped shea mix that I always have on hand and apply. Works pretty good so I'm gonna tweek my other recipe.

  • @msfullroller that's a GREAT idea! Maybe even better than just alcohol. I'm going to try it! Thanks!
