  • we have a new competitor: china. We need to return to the Moon to compete with china for dominance in space. but first we need to build up education again in order to inspire more inventors and thinkers and return to the moon and shit on the yellow scourge

  • R u sleeping

The 1st step in the moon was expose as stage. Fake

    Key in moon landing expose

  • @candymagic68 you jelly bro? we did land on the moon and i hope someone flies you on to the moon to see the LM bases and the rovers. maybe you'll die there so we dont have to listen to your bullshit

  • US Based Space X and Orbital Sciences are each headed to the station early next year to supply it & Space X Falcon will shuttle astronauts up there starting in 2013. Space X's Falcon Heavy will be at Vandenberg for testing in 2012/2013. This is the largest, most powerful US designed and built rocket since Saturn V.

Launching using the private sector is actually cheaper in the long run, and the current Falcon launches are cheaper than the Chinese.

(Was W that started current private program.)

  • you know what.

Who cares about bases on the moon and trips to mars.

This space program EVERY DAY makes astounding discoveries about disease research, the effects of micro gravity on bio-organisms and materials and textiles that change the face of the planet forever as you know it.

The seatbelts in your car, the clothes you wear, the batteries you use in your cell phone. Those are all thanks to the people at NASA. The things accomplished in this program trickle down to you more then you think

  • What a Dbag.Bush is 100x better than Obama..

  • usa would be one of the top countries if they wouldnt spend so much money on national defence. They could fix their healthcare easily with the money from it.

  • GOTTA PAY FOR ALL THAT TOPDOLLAR HEALTHCARE FOE COGRASS SOMEHOW, OBAMA HAS BEEN PUT HERE TO DISMANTLE THE U S A

  • @oiyabastard Obama has been in office for nearly two years, yet we're still here...and finally starting to recover from what the previous president created.

He's not doing anything malicious, really. There are checks and balances to ensure that that doesn't actually happen.

  • @spacevidcast Yeah our current president is NOWHERE near as shitty as our last president was. But it wasn't bush that caused this recession. IT actually started in the 90's with the fair housing act. Which turned out to be a bad idea ahhaa. But it's all getting better. What they should of kept funding was the lockheed venturestar project.

  • @EpiDemic117 Getting better? the US dollar is still dropping at an amazing rate of speed. it's much worse today than when bush was in office & it will be worse next week.

  • @bronxboyXXX WE are still the worlds most powerfull economy. China is right behind us. But if you can convince enough people to stop watching jersey shore and instead watch the science channel or modern marvels. we'd be even richer.

  • @EpiDemic117 They need to do more than just watch the science channel. it's time to innovate, create, learn new languages & pay closer attention to the politics & bullshit laws that are stifling progression. For Americas economy to truly grow it needs to offer more to the world than just entertainment, one cell phone with parts from china and a bunch of cars that are designed to be as inefficient as the car manufacturers can get away with.

  • @spacevidcast They wasted over a BILLION in R&D and didn't even finish it! Something to do with the composite tanks, so they used conventional aluminum which worked but some guys who was a well respected member of NASA was like noooooooooooo it doesn't demonstrate exotic EXPENSIVE materials all the way despite it's thermal protection system being absolutely evolutionary and it being a stageless vehicle, so now we are going to floor it's funding raaaaaarararararara!

  • @spacevidcast Some say the actual reason for it being killed was because of bush getting mad that it wasn't powered by gas or oil.

  • Have any of you looked at NASAs budget over the years? It's Sick! when you look at what they have accomplished with all this money we gave them over the years I can't help but feel cheated.

  • @bronxboyXXX Cheated? Please take a look at this site; (3 w's dot) sti (dot) nasa (dot) gov/tto/

  • @spacevidcast lol I'm supposed to be impressed? Did you know a group of independent privately funded scientist found a planet that is believed to be inhabitable while NASA hasn't found shit! furthermore when exactly are we going to the moon again? The last time was 40 years ago. we should have a base up there by now! & tell me why all these other governments are releasing all this UFO data that verifies the existence of intelligent life while NASA keeps denying it? This program stinks!.

  • @bronxboyXXX The reason we haven't gone back to the moon is because there's no public interest (congress funds NASA, people have to tell congress what they want). Public interest started waning after Apollo 12. The only time anyone cares about space is when something goes wrong (Apollo 13, lost tool bag, broken toilet, etc). NASA's found 350+ exoplanets (Kepler telescope). But NASA only gets $18b/ year, and over the 50 years of NASA, they've 1,500 patents. USAF handles UFO stuff, not NASA.

  • @spacevidcast I thought is was some thing like 3000 patents? To bad he doesn't realize that alot of the stuff he uses in his daily life was a result of Nasa (cellphones, telecommunications, materials.etc)

  • @bronxboyXXX "NASA hasn't found shit! furthermore when exactly are we going to the moon again? The last time was 40 years ago. we should have a base up there by now!"

Yeah... we should have a base up there by now... but we don't because the government doesn't want to provide the funding for it. The old saying 'you get what you pay for' has a lot of truth to it. If you want a robust space program with missions to Mars, space stations, and lunar bases, congress needs to pay to get the job done.

  • @ELM1941 Congress funds that which the public support. If we want to go to the moon, there has to be an interest. People need to write their congressmen and congresswomen and tell them NASA should get more funding.

  • OBAMA LIES...

  • titusville is my home town i was ther. i hate him he lied. SAVE THE NASA PROGRAM.... BREVARD COUNTY IS GOING TO BECOME A GHOST TOWN BECAUSE OF U. 922 MORE DAYS TILL YOU LONG GONE

  • Comment removed

  • Let me be clear, obama is a lying POS.

  • I wonder what those Obama supporters in Florida/Space Program employees are thinking now.

  • what's with the freaking music in the background? and are those UNION workers with those Obama shirts on?

  • Lair Obama. he'll say anything anyone wants him to say. And all those stories? My God, make me puke. The one thing he was right about? That we are America, we CAN DO anything. and we can make him a one term president if everyone votes!

  • no you cant make him a 1 term... because the tea baggers arnt voteing republican anymore (they dont even invite the republican national convention to their protests)... the republican party is split between rascists and republicans... the democratic party is united under a strong leader like obama

  • fuck you tabarnak...mangeux de marde de calis...tu fait rien de bon sauf paraitre d'un criss d'ass hole

  • We be needin ta feed da black sista wit da army in dat bellay. Fuck honkiez tryin ta escape out inta spaces an gets out dis worldwide muthafackin ghetto. Sends da monay ta africa ta feed dem hungray baybays an make strong KING AN QUEENZ! Fo reals peoples, we need DAT MONAY! FO DEM BAYBAY!

  • FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!

  • Defense spending is around $700 billion per year. Healthcare and Social Security likewise. This is like three 70-story skyscrapers. NASA's budget is $19 billion a year. It needs around $22 billion per year to fund Constellation properly. That's like a 2-story house. This Obama character is either a traitor or the stupidest president in American history. Only a fool would believe a word he says.

  • LIAR! LIAR!LIAR!

  • Fucking LIAR!

I can't believe this. I'm on the same side as the Republican bastards I HATE! This is ridiculous. Why not just give the money to the sports industry?! Or to commerical rap? I give up. A whole generation had NOTHING to live for besides the idea that humanity had a future. It's over. We're going to stagnate and go extinct on this piece of shit planet. Game over, man. GAME OVER. FUCK YOU, BARACK OBAMA. BUSH WAS A MORE VISIONARY PRESIDENT!!!!!

  • I just hope his stupid budget sinks with his damned health bill so NASA will be safe. It's a new Space Race and if we're not first, we'll be screwed.

  • Promises, promises ! What a disappointment Mr. President !! So much work has already been done !! If anything else should also have priority it should be that of cleaning up our orbits or do you want to cancel that too ?!

    Sincerely disappointed,

    Jason Maltz

US Army Cold War Signal Corp. Veteran

    Tactical Satellite Communications Specialist

  • I remember when people including myself were pissed at Bush 41 for his "no new taxes" broken campaign pledge. As a candidate, Obama lied to the country left and right. Obama is going downhill quick and Americans will make their voice heard this November.

  • Every dollar spent on space was within NASA's budget. Once NASA finished the ISS, that money would have been used in support of the ARES development. Solid rocket motors are not like liquid fueled engines. Learn the facts please.

  • And Obama pulls the switchero and backstabs NASA. Now, our space program is pretty much a joke! I hope our astronauts are now happy that they have to rent Russia rockets while they laugh at us!

Screw you Obama; the space program killer!

  • Obama and Bill Nelson suck!!!!!

    LIES LIES AND MORE LIES!

  • Im getting laid off in a few months..

He hurts to be directly lied to from our leader.

  • Is your job related to the constellation space program?

  • Same here.

  • $500 billion to $1 trillion so far to fight the 2 wars? Seems like we would of had enough money to go to Mars. Security has a real cost!

There is nothing wrong with using commercial services to get us to LEO. We need a cheap heavy lift option that can get maximum tonnage into space. We need some fresh ideas and new technologies not Apollo 2.

A space ladder would be much better investment and a way of getting millions of tons into space.

  • A space ladder doesn't take into account damage from orbiting debris.

  • What a lying S.O.B. At least he is consistent -- he is tearing down everything that has made America great. Damned marxist wannabe...

  • @starkeg10

Even the marxists have a space program

  • What's the name of the background music? Breathtaking!!

  • One of the best things about YouTube and the modern communications era is that we can absolutely call BS on politicians blatantly lying to get into office. The loss of Constellation as a program isn't the real loss here - the full and complete tragedy of this complete loss of leadership is the fact that once again we have NO plan other than vague promises of 'technology development'. Mr. O, the clue phone is ringing, the NASA already HAD a real mission, which you just canceled.

  • I'm so sick of global warmest LIERS and GREEN ENERGY BULL SHITTERS in this country. Obama PROVES they are all LIERS. We have a chance to mine REAL clean energy "Helium 3 "from the moon, but this COMMIE President cancels it??? Now Russia and china will be the sole providers of this energy??? This so called President is an absolute JOKE!!!!!

  • No VISION FOR THIS COUNTRY JUST COMMIE SOCIALST BULLSHIT!! What a empty suit we have to deal with for 3 more years. DAM he sickens me! Helium 3 can save this country TRILLIONS in the long run compare the billions of mining it.

  • Obama and Bill Nelson suck!

  • LIAR LIAR....say anything to get the Florida VOTE!.......

  • @catb55

His words on NASA are hardly isolated to Florida.

The Space Program is extremely important to nerds around America and around the globe.

The thousands of people that fly to Florida each time there is a shuttle launch proves it.

Obama is a piece of garbage offering only lip service in order to get to his position.

  • and by tightening the cover on exotic technologies and increase the control and manipulation of the people; by lying;

  • Another LIE....people are shaking in their boots at NASA, Boeing, Lockheed over the recent mega cuts to our space program knowing that their jobs are on the line now....Mr. President, you lied.

  • wanna know why people are losing jobs at nasa? because obama is giving them money to build a deep space rocket to make space flights easier and more affordable... this means all the 60 to 70 year old people who dont have these new skills get fired... well, we can hold back nasa to keep old men in their jobs or we can explore space... up to the voters

  • Well, well. He certainly lied about Constellation. Now we have some vague plan to develop some kind of HLV sometime around 2045, or is that 2056? In anycase, don't expect the US to return to the Moon before 2069 - with delays that could then be something like 2075 at the earliest.

Obama is a total embarassment. Its basic 101 knowledge that a strong aerospace sector drives the economy, not stalls it. Sure, you're all have free healthcare soon, but the US will be China's poodle.

  • The reason for delay is to let commercial space launch companies 'take the high road' (so to speak). SpaceX, etc.

Gov't funds to go to hush hush research; O's second term may see announcement of small device that is the first step to faster-than-light travel. No kidding, it will be called the 'paper airplane device' (analogy to paper airplane leads to Wright Bros plane) Faster than light travel within 30 years.

  • @korgri You must be on crack. He said all these things to get elected. WHAT A BIG FAT LIAR "O" is.

  • Don't get caught up in pro wrestling - worrying about what some politician says. It leads nowhere but to more worry, and what does that accomplish?

  • The girl is hot, but I hate the background music.

  • i hope he doesnt change his mindz.

  • I didnt Vote nor Do I like Obama, The bottom line is , is that Obama is Entertaining the shit out of me now because everybody whovoted for him for all his agenda's , You voted for change. And the Change you get is Obama Changing his mind. VOTE MCCAIN uh what? does it even matter at this point. And as many presidents in our life time they all lie. Who's the most successfull person you know??? Ask that person for advise, Thats what I do

  • Why is a reassessment of information and changing your direction to adapt changing situations a bad thing? Is a staunch, inflexible position really more valuable than adaptation? I'd love that it's not some dogmatic agenda that can't be amended and is open to new information and ready to adjust accordingly.

  • what? please explain all these changes you are talking about now that he is president.

  • Gee thanks for your reply, hows the economy, hows the Tarp, Hows Wall street, Hows The big Bail out, Hows the Housing Market. Uhu how the wars and he starting new wars with Iran and Korea thats soon to come. You think Arab Muslims are scared of us now , Nope. thx for your vote you are a credit to our nation hahaha , can you get a job haha do you have money, cant wait till they stop welfare for you losers then what , Change Hope lolololololololol

  • I'm really glad he changed his policy on Nasa/Space Programs. I love space and exploring it...

  • hello im board too

  • I'm not saying one way or the other, but isn't is possible that he realized he was wrong and changed his opinion based on that? It *could* be for votes (and note that he suddenly came out in favor of Constellation in Florida where the brunt of the NASA jobs are). It could be that he brought on new advisers who convinced him that NASA has real value. Or it could be something else completely. I'm not sure we have enough data to come to any conclusions.

  • "no one can be sure what he stands for or what he will do if elected."

If that's the case, then the same rules apply with McCain. And just like spacevid said its possible he realized he was wrong and changed his mind. Can't a person do that?

I rather see these candidates change their mind NOW while nothing is affected instead of later leaving us with empty promises. As if we need more of that. But,as spacevid said we don't have enough info to make a concrete conclusion.

  • well obama is elected lol
