hey i just brought a zed 24 and i was just woundering if u could record 8 tracks at once, i would like to edit my drums after they have bin recorded in single tracks is this possible.
@MrTommy182 The Allen Heath ZED 24 supports 2 channels/stereo only. For more channels you need a bigger interface, I suggest looking into some Focusrite or Presonus stuff. I use the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.
@MrTommy182 you actually need a digital mixer "channels and inputs are 2 different things" and i am guessing you want to lets say you have a 4 piece mic all drums and one over head for the cymbals youll have 5 mics and you would like to control each after recording, in a digital mixer you press record and you have the option on your medium to split each mic into a seperate track, and they all would either be mono or stereo what ever you choose.
@xoshadowstarox In that case it's the best and easiest to go with something like a ZOOM R16, assuming he's on a budget. If you've got a little more money, go with a Focusrite Saffire PRO 40. Or multiple if you so wish.
