This is when Sonic was in his prime. No humans getting in his way (besides Robuttnik of course), no side characters with complex stories, you just put the game in and kick some ass. Sega really needs to go back to their roots and make a true 2D sonic game again without the 3D and bullshit sonic attitude thrown in. I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed a sonic game since Sonic CD. Also, the music was something amazing back then, what the hell happened Sega?

@jawtrickftw Well, the Werehog wasn't all that bad. I thought it was okay. I'm also curious, did you actually play Unleashed, or are you just going with what the reviewers say? The Werehog had a job to do, and pulled it off perfectly for me. It's job was to help split the gameplay of Sonic. Normal Sonic got the speed part of Sonic, the Werehog got the precise platforming aspect.

I think Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the best of the best Sonic game ever (other than CD :D). It not only has lock-on tech, but also has the best level design of the Genesis Quartet (including CD). Long live classic Sonic!

about the shield question. You can't transform into super when you have a shield with sonic because he has a special attack for each shield, and instead of transforming he uses the shield attack in the air, i remember grabbing shields just so my trigger happy fingers wouldn't make me transform before I wanted to.

Anyway, Awesome run, this game brings back memories... it was my favorite sonic game back in the day.

He only had chaos emeralds. Since this is Sonic 3 and Knuckles he must have beaten the game without getting any super emeralds. Once you hit Mushroom Hill you cant transform anymore till you get Hyper Sonic

Thats only if you go into the flashing ring in the room where knuckles came from, if you dont go in it you can still be super sonic

Duh, Knuckles is a good guy now.

But in this game, Eggman tricked Knuckles into believing Sonic was stealing the Chaos Emeralds, so Knuckles fought Sonic. After S&K, Sonic and Knuckles became allies.

Hey, I once had over 300 rings in the Marble Garden Zone.

But I just blew it by that robot in the almost ending of that level.

If u collect all the emeralds before the mabrle garden zone those big rings are worth 50 rings. Now if memory serves me correctly, on marble garden act one, there are 6 or 7 big rings. Collect all of them plus all the rings in the level, u'll end up with well over 800 (providing u don't get hit of course =P)

If u felt like it, u could collect all the chaos emeralds in that level alone XD.
