  • wow guy at 0:05 is hot :O

  • @xlanarchie that's how he selling his shitty music

  • Eh. I don't really care THAT much for selling my music. I just want to get it out there so it can be heard and appreciated. I would make music mainly because I like to do it. I'd rather make money from merch and performances.

Of course, this is if I actually was making music. lol

  • @MetalShado sounds like you have a good life and a good job, I have a shitty environment and macbook, loads of ideas in my head that I should get payed for!! If you can get an asset, don't waste time.

  • Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) pits Yahoo, Google against U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Check out the Washington Post since this comments section will not let me put a link... hmmmmm I wonder why.... lol busted!!!

  • @risingsunmusic1 PIRACY IS THE ANSWER

  • Wow I try to add the SOPA link and it would not let me.. Google SOPA and learn rights.

  • Listen to this.. This is why the giants make you believe that free is cool.. Research SOPA and you will see why you have taken as suckers for so many years. When the law is passed you will make your royalties finally. This is what you have been missing out on.

  • What gets to me is what is so great about giving your music away for free or being your own roadie? If you give away your art then what do you have left. Is this ad about self stroking your egos. If you make money then you can pay a roadie & employ people which is what America needs. Jobs! Be Smart! Promote & sell is what you should do. Are you aware that copyright amendments for the internet have not been passed due to lobbyist keeping it being passed so they do not have to pay your royalties.

  • @risingsunmusic1 F*** those copyright laws dude their unfair and there to general copyright is not what it was intended to be plus you don't look at the other side I mean you've heard of wastleful gov spending? Yes u have, but have you ever heard of wasteful private spending oh yeah it's out there just look at some of those hollywood movies over blown budgets there was this one movie with Bruce Willis in it and the budget was 60 million guess where 30 of the 60 million went to? Bruce Willis

  • @theofficialBCchannel Not to mention how they throw all this money at projects and some of the stuff they produce still sucks

  • @theofficialBCchannel If you wish to remain broke, depressed and an abused artist then that's on you. I want to be paid to for my efforts as well as all artist should be.. Free music spells a broke pocket. You can't survive off your ego that's for sure. You forget that all the sites that fool you into believing free music is cool are very rich on all on our efforts and talent. What is the problem with Bruce Willis making 30 mil.. I bet if it was you it would be different and not out of tune.

  • @risingsunmusic1 But you can't force people to buy your music. Sure, there are honest people out there who will. I know plenty. Carl King in "So You're a Creative Genius... Now What?" argues that what people will really pay for is personal interaction, and not the music itself, but other collectible stuff that they can touch and hold. I agree. You can't force people to pay for something they won't pay for. Meanwhile, get yourselves jobs and use your other time wisely until you don't need to.

  • @ReneeKuron You need to know your rights as an artist. You obviously do not know what is owed to you. Start reading & research. It is important to be educated about what you wish to pursue. If you have questions feel free to ask me. This problem is very serious. Bands are touring for free. Yes free. When bands made a ton of money 12 to 20 years ago. It's not because of the internet. It is because of how people took advantage of artists vanity to manipulate them. You are being used.

  • @risingsunmusic1 Also, did you forget SOPA will shut down sites like Youtube if they don't get rid of everything that is copyright infringement? Oh right, it will also target sites like deviantART, SoundCloud, even Facebook, because if they don't have a handle on all the copyright infringement going on in the sites, Congress will be able to take them down, even when there is legitimate content as well as copyright infringment. It won't pass anyway. It'll destroy the internet.

  • @ReneeKuron It will not destroy the internet guys. Calm down.. It will be the beginning of something beautiful you have never experienced which is to make money with your music. You make it sound as it is the end of the world. The sky is not falling ok. People in general are used to paying for things.. You make it sound like music has no value & that is wrong. The Problem is that you have been influenced to believe you have no value or your music has no value. Do you know what BMI or ASCAP Is?

  • @risingsunmusic1 It's not just about the money either for me. If you (or I) don't enjoy what you (or I) do, go do something else. Sure, I could be a pharmacist like I was originally going to be and make lots of money while being a musician on the side. But is that what I would enjoy and what I would want to do? No. That's why I have a job while I attempt to work on other things in the meantime. Heard about UMG trying to block the megaupload song? Now that's copyright abuse.

  • I think this is a great opportunity for independent musicians to get even more sold out by a big major company not giving A SHIT about music.

  • +1 for Bandcamp

  • omg! that was chris ayer! *_*

  • It's Chris Ayer! :D

  • I think this is a great opportunity for independent musicians to get greater exposure and make money at the same time. It is in fact like Bandcamp and whatever other site there is, but Google is a massive viral company and its easier to find music than Bandcamp. I use both. You don't lose anymore than if you sell on iTunes. 30% is standard. Best to yall! Love, Girl in the video xo

  • Google owns YouTube.

If you don't like Google go get on appletube or facetube... wait your just haters.

I'm just glad I can buy music on my phone.

I just hope I can transfer purchases between different android handsets.

  • Nice, How do I upload my music ?

  • how are the artist gonna make money?

  • isnt it a bit fishy all these commercials come out at the same time when SOPA is being discussed in congress?

    its just fishy

  • Bandcamp.

  • I think it's me, but every other Google video bring a tear to my eyes. Damn you Google :-)

  • im a musician

  • I'll stick with Bandcamp or Indietorrent. They give more money to the musicians - they take 10-15% for themselves, as opposed to Google/Apple/Amazon's 30%. And they are in many ways better for the customer, too (no software required, music in FLAC).

  • @clapthehammers true, that should be considered. The difference is: This is Google!

  • @thudds so? we should start decentralizing our lives. imho diaspora failed, but the idea still is great.

  • @clapthehammers i'll stick with tunecore, they give 100% ;p

  • @clapthehammers and how many people really know about "indietorrent" or "bandcamp" ... maybe they take less money from you.. but if you really want money... then you need a big audience and this can google provide to you. think about it.

  • @FreeMusic54

To an extent, you're right. But Google is not a TV station. Even if it was, your music would be lost among million others.

So at the end you have to do your own promotion and it's on you to post the link to the store that gives you the biggest cut.

Even if you're also selling on Google/iTunes in addition to Bandcamp, it would make sense for your "Bandcamp version" to cost a bit less, just to show the customer which is the most profitable store for both of you.

  • @clapthehammers p sure bandcamp takes 30%

  • @vedicardi

    bandcamp DOT com/pricing

  • 2:18 No more talking for you. lol

  • this is be awesome

  • google copying BANDCAMP except with signup fees and taking twice as big of a cut ... uh huh

  • LOL @ 2:18 girl gets cut right before she speaks

  • @analogarthur hahahahaha i watched the WHOLE video waiting for that part, i burst out laughing...now the studio where i work is watching this video

  • Please add better support for getting indie labels on here! Love this service so far.

  • I love this new Google Music Hub. This might be a big step for all musicans who dreamed of a 70/30 share so far.

Now please just make it available to all countries, at least the option to buy music from thoose independent artists.

  • Canada would be nice too :D

  • UK would be nice too :D

  • Open to ANY artists? Yes please! Down with corporate music! Support local artists!

  • Please make it also available outside the US. (Germany would be nice) :)
