Man y'all r crazy he kills this on the banjo yea it goes a little off time the second break. But who cares! Let's see all y'all talking ab him get out there and give a better break than him. Its called drive wat a lot of ppl dnt have and this band does
i know that banjo sounds a bit to bright for my taste..... needs to loosen that head! Keep the head on my JD Crowe 75 about an A and the Hatfield between an G# and a A. every banjos differnt though.
it's a custom made by J. McKinney in Canton GA - it was pretty new at the time of this festival - it's styled after a Martin D-18 with true appalachian red spruce and mahogany -
I didnt mean to get any of you guys all riled up...........I was talking about the old school up the neck back up stuff that nobody ever does anymore.
Our banjo player duz! If everyone played alike, u could just follow one banjo player around. Wouldn't have to watch anyone else! Called style bro. And i dont get riled up...

i didnt mean what i said in a smartass kind of way. i was just sayin, as a banjo player myself, i have met and jammed with cory, learned a lot from him too, but everyone makes mistakes and i heard what you was talkin about, but i was just sayin.....
@ultfishrman I know Daniel(banjomartin88) and he can play better. Heck i know a dozen banjo players that can take a better break than what Cory took. Hes good, but not that good. you wanna hear a good break on that song, listen to Lou Reid And Carolina, Carolina Blue Album and listen to what baucom does.
Earl Scruggs missed licks too, as did JD Crowe, Sonny Osborne, Bela Fleck, and anyone who has ever touched an instrument. Even the best there is still mess up. The fact is there probably isn't a banjo player one who doesn't mess up at least once on every song he plays, although its usually to minuet to notice.
Dude, read my comment the whole way through. I didnt say Cory is the only banjo player to ever to miss a lick, I just heard what the other guy heard. I wasn't bashing him.
If you can't keep up, you'll have to listen quicker. Anyways nothing happened whatsoever at 1:51, all I heard was exceptional picking, if you can pick the guitar like that, let me know.
WHOOOOTT! ...go Shane! we nneeda jam soon buddy , lmao...too bad your like 30 hours away , hheh ... tell little man i miss him and to get himself on facebook! lol
I can't understand why you'd keep filming the guitar player when SIERRA HULL is taking a mandolin break? SHE'S THE TICKET RIGHT NOW!! I've been following her since she was 11 and she's awesome!! I would have loved to WATCH her break!
cory walker is such an amazing banjo player. the night i got my banjo he played it for awhile after a jam i met him at. he is somethin else. just offered to show me licks. great guy as well as banjo player
Have you ever play music with Cory? He is like a "Jack Russle Terrier" on Expresso......You got to have your game on when you pick with him......His banjo is VERY loud. It helps that I have a MONSTER 1951 D28. He wishes he had it too...

Is the fiddle player Alex Hargreaves? I have not seen him with Highway 111 before.

I think the guitar player is Shane Blackwell. If so, his Dad (Curtis Blackwell) played music with Bill Monroe back in the day.

Yeah hes hes a killer banjo player. The sound guy was giving him some greif though, those guy are one of the biggest challenges a banjo player faces.
Anyway, where did you meet Cory? Maybe he'd give me a lesson too, LOL.

great tune. sierra has a really good band. sierra is a REALLY good musician herself.
