  • finally a guy with a drumkit=fruityloops connection vid that has atleast some skills. nice 1

  • lovin the socks lol

  • haha f'in win98 hilarious man, i produce and play drums and keys to fella , but what samples or vst did you use? ..ur still on 360? you can add me if you want... cheers

  • oh I forgot... @MtnXfreeride

  • How in the world did you map out the cymbal separate from the pads? I've tried everything, but when I check my controllers in control panel AND in Pinnacle, the cymbal signal can't help but to cross the corresponding colored pad signal. Right now I have the 4 pads and cymbals on yellow and green. Red = 4+11 Yellow pad = 5+11 Blue = 1+11 Green pad = 2 +11, Yellow cymbal = 5+12 Green cymbal = 2 +12

  • @Upfold808 i dont have it instaled rigt now to dohble check, but i remember my cymbals overlapping... When i hit the crash the ride also goes. I thought the pads also did arrow up or left/rigt as a third button and i used that for one of the pads.

  • @MtnXfreeride Thanks. I've yet to find anyone that has been able to separate the cymbals from the pads. I think will use just 1 cymbal like you did, minimize the confusion.

  • @Upfold808 also.. I only use one cymbal and i tink that was why. Its hella loud to use the cymbals as a hi hat or ride

  • Where can I download the PS3 Pinnacle profile?

  • Actually I have the old Rockband drum, cant seem to get it to work, to you have any ideas? Maybe in Pinnacle, how can I set the profile up?

  • @AxeHomeless Ithink I just nee the command assignments for the buttons, it would be great if you could provide me with this five assignments :)

  • @AxeHomeless This drum set here is from the original rockband, I made this video before rockband 3 came out. Maybe pinnacle has changed.. I dont have any of this stuff installed right now so I cant really help you. Just make your own profile to your liking since it isnt very hard.

  • @MtnXfreeride Well, my original drum has neither two ports for the kickdrum pdeals nor a crush symbol (dont know what its called in english)

Well it is kind of hard if you havent worked with any of these programs :(

  • @AxeHomeless oh actually these are rock band 2 drums. I cant really make a profile for you if I dont have your drums, I have no idea which keys they would press.

  • @MtnXfreeride I am so sorry to bother you, I just cannot find how I can assign the Drums.

the drums should lave the right letters (G,S,A etc.) assigned but live 8 wont take them, it just takes my keyboard, I can play there but not on the drums :(

  • @AxeHomeless "it just takes my keyboard" sounds like Live is working fine. Sounds like you are missing Pinnacle Game Profiler which takes the Controller's buttons and turns them into keyboard presses.

  • @MtnXfreeride

After a long and shitty evening I figured out how to set it for live, because I deleted the WIndows Profile, and you cannot get this back, even with reinstall. dont know why.

Now everythings works, thank you :)

You dont know why my Live lags for 3seconds every 8 seconds? :( Quite unusable. But I guess its my pc :/

  • @AxeHomeless But anyway, I love what you did, great job and thanks, youre great!

  • Everytime I change the driver to ASIO, which I have downloaded, it doesnt work, it says something about corrupted driver.

any idea of whats going on?

  • bitch has my case

  • can i use guitar hero 5 drums for this?

  • Can't get it working. My sound goes down when Ableton is open, and the sample files are missing! Help?

  • this dude could not be a worse direction typer..

  • does having a wireless setup create lag?

  • Great video man, I'm very impressed :D

I have a question though, I downloaded the files you provided but theres no vintage drum rack in ableton, it says the samples are missing and when I looked at the files you provided I couldn't find the samples anywhere. Can you please help?

  • 2 questions can this work with gh ps3 set?

  • fuck me!! I use my xbox controller for my pc games. All this damn time that never dawned on me to sync my rb2 drums to my pc.

  • I have the drums wireless for ps3 from a friend but Idon't have the ps3 or xbox 360 do you need the consoles for playing in the computer or only with the reciver. You are

    awesome. Thanks

  • I have the same case :)

  • thank you all for the answers. I can not set up the drums to the pinnacle, not use. Does anyone help me?

    thanks in advance

  • hello

I was impressed with your video.

I have the same drum but for ps3. Xbox wireless receiver would replace it with my ps3? or should I get a 360?

sorry for my English. thanks in advance

  • @nikoexe23 well, if the PS3 set is wired it would work, if it is wireless you would need a PS3 wireless receiver for your PC, which I dont think exists.

  • @MtnXfreeride PS3 uses standard Bluetooth, which you can easily get on a PC.

  • @MtnXfreeride PS3 Drums would use bluetooth

  • @MtnXfreeride ther is a ps3 wireless receiver

  • @MtnXfreeride there is a ps3 wireless receiver

  • @nikoexe23 PS3 uses bluetooth standard

  • @nikoexe23 you DON'T NEED any receiver just attend a toturial on how to use ghwt drums on pc and you're ready to rock and all programms you'll need are free

  • @nikoexe23 all u do is plug it in into a usb port. just that in the vid he used a reciever because his was wireless. so the wired one is way easier.

  • sick

  • That is so cool.

  • I did everything exactly the same.. for some reason i get no sound off of ableton.

I'm using the wired ps3 rockband drumset. Does that matter at all?

  • How have you rigged up that proper kick pedal?

  • @llsTixll its not a real kick pedal, just a higher quality one sold at BestBuy a while back.

  • What drum vsti are you using?

  • @RobRokken just what comes with ableton live, I think it is the regular acoustic midi files. Sounds pretty real IMO.

  • @RobRokken I once tried to set it up with samples from my real drumset, but there was more lag when you use .wav files instead of midi instruments.

  • Do you have any lag at all? Or is there a tiny delay?

  • @llsTixll tiny delay, not enough to mess up the timing though.

  • @MtnXfreeride - thanks, I'm assuming you have a fairly decent sound card then?

  • @llsTixll nope lol, I wouldnt consider the onboard card on this motherboard to be anything special. The ASIO drivers make all the difference.

  • Cool, don't let my son see this He He.

  • I gotta try this out sometime cheaper than Roland

  • First of all, thanks alot! Your video helped me get my rock band drums that I got yesterday working with my PC now. So kudos! What I am trying to do now is map my whole drum kit. ie with all three cymbals. My problem is the mapping with Pinnacle. The yellow tom and yellow cymbal both respond as BUTTON#4. Actually when I hit the yellow tom twice I get reaction for BUTTON #4 first and B #11 as second hit. When I hit yellow cymbal I get reaction for B#4 first and B#11 on second hit. Same with blue

  • @smaniz I had the same problem and had to settle for 2 cymbals because there was no program to do the correct button mapping.

  • what is that thing you showed at the begining? and how do i get it??

  • @PanteraFarBeyond thats the xbox 360 wireless PC adapter... it lets you use wireless Xbox controllers (xbox drums here) on the PC.

  • @MtnXfreeride alright thanks. im gonna go get one today haha

  • I'm using Rock Band 3 Pro Drums for Wii. It's working perfectly too. Using GlovePie only, without any drivers.

  • @ClusterM the driver is to lessen the audio lag not for mapping the controller to keys that glovepie does. Good to hear another program does the keyboard mapping though since the one I linked to is only a demo.

  • @MtnXfreeride I have not noticed any lags with GlovePIE. But maybe real musicans can notice it :)

  • NICE CASE MOD!!!!

  • @GladiatorGage THX! haha

  • wat drivers or software do i need to install to use the drumkit with ableton ??

  • hey! awesome drum player! =) i'm looking for a kit like yours to connect it to my PC and record some tracks. but i need some tips first: do you recommend Xbox RB drums controllers to do it? there is any way to use this controllers with velocity sensitivity? thanks man, good video!!! and keep playing ;)

  • @mariox82 If you want velocity sensitivity you will need a better program on the computer to read that. I dont know of any though.. I wouldnt use this for a real drum track either.. you can get a cheap electric set that would do 10x better.

  • @MtnXfreeride thanks man for the suggestion! =)

  • Does it work for xbox 360?

  • @nakatabrother I was using xbox 360 drums here.

  • is it possible to use xpadder rather than Pinnacle?

  • hey where did you buy that little michrosoft thing you showed at the begining

  • @TheCawbShow ebay for $10

  • i'm not sure what you're using to get the MIDI signals into Albeton, but check out the program rb2midi. it supports three cymbals. if you check it out, let me know if it works man :} mattgrounds(dot)com/rb2midi/

  • Best Rock Band drum player I've seen. I didn't look very hard, but I remember some pretty bad ones. I use drum machine and there is bad lag, so I will have to check this out.

  • where you buy the crash?

  • @Hvfrydfsggg Best Buy has a crash pack. But I can only get one going on the PC hookup.

  • my english suck... cn u show how to do it, plzzz?? im using windows xp and ps3 rock band's drum. ok.. thanks man.. i've been loking for this for a long time... now im using drumsite.. lag...................

  • whoa this is fuckin awesome! you have to show me this when i come home

  • I remember finding a program that did this a while ago, but the delay was terrible. Way too off for hybrid drumming.

How's the delay with this? Like from when you hit the drum to when the sound comes out?

  • @JasonDTube this is the first time Ive been able to play without noticeable lag. It works when use use midi instead of .wav files which take a while to play, all in all it says I have 11ms of delay between the in and out.

  • @MtnXfreeride How can you measure the delay. Also, is it the midi that makes it play so fast? Because I'm using drumsite and sometimes drum machine, they are both wav. Thanks. Do you think it would be possible to play a youtube video, drum to it, and record all the sounds all on one computer with minimal lag? Thanks.

  • @RyanJRA64Abella midi makes it fast, but .wav files in ableton seem about as fast (it loads them to memory) The catch is with your programs is that they have to use the asio sound drivers or there will be 100ms+ lag. I can measure lag because ASIO tells me it is 10ms.

  • awesome

  • yup, and I just learned about something called "Quantize" that will snap my slightly off notes back into time since its just midi
