  • seems like a solid knife, coating that acts as a lubricant when cutting? not that I dont believe CS, but I would like to experience what they mean by that. like you said, if good enough for the SEALS, then yeah that says a lot!

  • @wmpyr After using my Cold Steel Recon 1 a lot (same coating) I understand what they're trying to say. But, the coating does come off pretty easy with basic use.

  • @GunsKnivesSurvival I see, I speculated as much, thank you for that info! Some of my Boker knives have the same issue.

  • Appreciate your review. I've been seriously considering this knife and I appreciate your observation on the possible wear concern. It's something to consider.

  • @BREAKDOWN207 Thanks for watching.

  • @BREAKDOWN207 I have the old carbon V version and it has been very very used for many many years and the craton is still just fine and it stays in the sheath very secure.Hope that helps you in your consideration of this knife.

  • @MrNapalm138 Good to know. That was the only thing I was worried about. I'm digging this knife!

  • Thanks for the review. I have the Recon I with the same teflon coating. What makes no sense to me is: what good is the teflon coating if it can be scraped off so easily, as I've seen in many other reviews? I have knives with TiNi coatings (Sog Aegis) and some with DLC coatings (Kershaw Black Blur), and these coatings are much tougher than Teflon. I can't believe Cold Steel goes to the trouble and expense of putting on a Teflon coating when it's not going to survive real world use.

  • @TheMotorick Thank you!

  • In my opinion for a survival/rescue knife, perhaps it might be a good idea to have a small section of the blade mirror polished... to attract attention by using the sun.

  • @Davidbirtles1 Not a bad idea. During use, the teflon will wear off.

  • great presentation..... what's the cost?

  • @ITHINKUREALESUK Thanks. You can get one for around $70.

  • I have an older Carbon V SRK. I use it for camping and survival training. The tip is very strong and the knife will do what you need. Don't expect it to be a great chopper, but it is great for battoning/splitting wood.

  • Nice review, looks like a great knife, if the Seals use it. can't be bad. Take care and have a great day.

  • until next time, fuck spyderco

  • nice

  • great first review buddy.

  • @sailingmanuel Thanks!

  • That SRK looks like a basic kick but knife I guess I will have to add it to the ever-growing list of knives to get. Thanks for the review great job.

  • @henrycems I know what you mean; the list keeps getting longer...

  • Great knife. I'm glad I have an older Carbon V blade though.

  • @BTeamHooligan I would have liked one of those myself. Cold Steel has an awesome video of a guy opening a 55 gallon steel drum with one.

  • This knife is totaly awsome!

  • @kojobba It rocks. Do you have one?

  • I have wanted one of these for a while. I think i will need to go pick one up now that you have shown it!

  • @Billthesheepdog I finally saw one at the Tulsa gun show a few weeks back and just had to get it. Thanks for watching!

  • great knife and video....i totally want one !!

  • @MrTexican86 Thanks!
