  • @ Analyzingasshole.. If you really knew your barbecue you would own your own place, but you don't and we do!! I think you have us mixed up w/ someone else because not one thing you said is true.. We haven't ever used Maul's!! Yes we do boil the snoots to get them clean, some ppl don't care about cleanlieness with food, but WE DO!! I'm sure if what you said was true we wouldn't sell about 100 Lbs of them a week. If you ever get over your jealousy, come see us! Peace, love and bbq to ya! :)

  • I HAVE to comment on this travesty to snoots. "BBQ" refers to a high real wood flame about 4 feet away and open pit. This slow basting with only Mauls BBQ sauce that has been doctored with beer, is what "bbq" is ! It takes about 5-6 hours to make a REAL snoot. This is grilled crap. Where in St louis do I get a REAL "BBQ" snoot, not grilled, boiled and bastardised?

  • @analyzingfunny I'm sure there are other places in the St. Louis area that serve snoot, but this is the only one I am aware of as of now. If you find any other places, please let me know. Thanks.

  • @analyzingfunny You can go to Roper's and Smoki O's. Ropers is a hole in the wall, but easily some of the best bbq I've ever had in my life. Delicious.

  • Millstadt Is having a (backyard) snoot / chili cook off Oct, 18th 2009 at Millstadt, Illinois Knights of Columbus Club. 618-476-1861 NO ENTRY FEE. No commercial grills. Weber and charcoal only. bbq plates available for purchase. This is a tailgate / backyard type cook off. 1ts,2nd and 3rd place blue ribbons. The people will decide winners.

  • I been grill'n snoots for 40 yrs. Ya'll c'mon down to Millstadt this fall and get in on our snoot cook off. Millstadt was declared "Snoot capital of the world" in 2001.

  • Thanks for the invite! When is the snoot cook-off?

  • @trk1050 ST LOUIS SNOOT!!! yaya!!!!!! I dint know. Ill be there!

  • snoots are from the cheek, not the actual nose

  • @sluhjohn BS!!! The snoot is the pigs nose.. go into uncle huffy's and they will show you a snoot before it's cleaned up and you'll see THE NOSE... look it up.. no cheek... nose and forehead actually.... i work there :)

  • @sluhjohn

The snoot is the nose. You have to parboil them and burn off the hair or pull it all out with a pliers. Some of the cheek and upper jaw meat is attached when y ou get them and you have to butterfly and score them to cook them.

  • Fun video Jim. Good job!

    Bubba-Q

  • Thanks Bubba! I'm looking forward to doing more. Stay tuned!

  • That looks like a pretty neat place. Amber has quite the bubbly personality. I'll have to get over there sometime.

    BTW...Nice job on the video.

  • bandit, great video bro. You gotta tell me how you got everyone to cooperate and be part of the video. The characters at my local bbq joint would probably hogtie me and throw me out the door.

  • LOL...they were surprisingly cooperative. I did ask them if I could video them before doing so; the other diners gave consent as well. It may have been a little less intimidating that I used a Flip Video camera instead of a regular video camera...this little camera looks like a cell phone...pretty non-threatening. I'm looking forward to doing other videos too...stay tuned!

  • Great video, bro! Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey Monty, Thanks for checking out the video! I'm hoping to do more in the near future. Please pass the link on to other barbeque lovers.
