Cooke is just a turd on the ice. I really hated him even when he played for my home team (Vancouver Canucks). He has shown now many times that because he is small he has to cheap shot to make up for his lack of size. He is a poor player at best and is not anything more then a goon. How is this so much harder than Heatley's? I mean comeon had Cooke and Heatley done what they did on the street I doubt they would even be fined, while Chara boxing someone from behind into lets say a wall would face a while in jail. This is messed up. Normally I'm for harsher treatment, but comeon 17 games for a hit that didn't even result in any major injury. While Chara's "lawful" hit warranted nothing.

Matt Cooke is a criminal. He's not a hockey player, he just skates around looking for the opportunity to throw his elbow into unsuspecting and vulnerable players' heads. He should be banned from the NHL.

NHL def needs to step up its punishment game, same with other pro sports.. This shit can't keep happening. Look at the NFL, guys get concussions every week due to head shots. Pro sports need to be strict as fk, because this shit can ruin peoples careers.
