Since 2000, UA is top five of ALL universities in the # of Academic All Americans. Your first claim now blows up because of a fact. I don't think you even believe your claim that the UA players haven't worked hard, they're SEC champs and playing in the NC game after all. And "roll tide" came from "Crimson Tide", the history of which I know well.
On taking the "mother load" and funds from academics, Saban is paid about 300K in base salary, the rest comes from the athletic dept. That's another claim of yours where the facts get in the way. As far as a highly paid coach being the "only way" to get recruits, Saban got far less at LSU but produced the same results he's getting at UA. Your "only way" argument just doesn't fly. FWIW, Saban also took a pay cut in order to come to UA.. Make me work over here - argue me with facts, not wishes.

bama is hilarious.
They went thru 6 years of losing. In that time, they took tons on money from their academics and payed it to coaches buying off thier contracts year after year of losing. They went thru 5 coaches in that 6 years. hilarious.
Then they decided that they would take the mother load from their academic programs and spend more money than any college in history to buy a coach from the NFL. This was the only way for them to win some games and get recruits to come to bama. very sad

Since 2000, UA is top five of ALL universities in the # of Academic All Americans. Your first claim now blows up because of a fact. I don't think you even believe your claim that the UA players haven't worked hard, they're SEC champs and playing in the NC game after all. And "roll tide" came from "Crimson Tide", the history of which I know well.

On taking the "mother load" and funds from academics, Saban is paid about 300K in base salary, the rest comes from the athletic dept. That's another claim of yours where the facts get in the way. As far as a highly paid coach being the "only way" to get recruits, Saban got far less at LSU but produced the same results he's getting at UA. Your "only way" argument just doesn't fly. FWIW, Saban also took a pay cut in order to come to UA.. Make me work over here - argue me with facts, not wishes.

Really? Saban came back to the college game because he gets much more out of it than in the pros. He's molded into his dad's image whose tombstone reads, "No man stands taller than the one who stoops to help a child." And it ain't about the money - he took a pay cut to coach at Bama. If he did seek more money, The University would gladly pay it - the return on investment having the 4 million dollar man has FAR exceeded any coach since Bryant.
