i would rather study in a not-so-famous or no-rank-college-univ in Japan,China, USA, Singapore, UK, Canada or anywhere in this world...rather than this Ateneo-whatever-college/univ....how can you live in country called the Philippines full of corrupt politicians, squatters, snatchers, prostitutes, japayukis, call center agents, nurses and physical therapists, typhoons, flood, pollution, ...not to mention....worst airports...what a pity!!!!!

Ateneo is a peaceful university to study in, but it isn't as beautiful as DLSU. Just like La Salle Green Hills which is the school for celebrities. AJ Perez and Albie Casino
I'm going to take the ACET this coming July 2011. I'm really, really, really having difficulty in Math--which makes me nervous and doubt if I'll pass the ACET. But I'm going to take Pol-Sci. And I've performed well in english in high school, I could have surpassed my honor classmates. My grade in english was 92, but my Math is 78 (haha!). Will my failing grade in Math can affect the admissions office's decision in letting me in?
@crizzyzzirc Hello again! If you are above average in some subjects, I still think you have a good chance. Like I said before my Math grades weren't stellar either. And I know someone who was so tired she actually fell asleep during the Math portion of the ACET and she still got in. Just do your best. May God Bless you! Let me know how it goes.
@crizzyzzirc I've heard of people who got waitlisted due to their high schools. Not sure about the veracity of this, though I got waitlisted myself, but it was due to a disciplinary case(which I won't elaborate on hehe). Still, worst comes to worst, you still have to keep your grades as high as possible for the remainder of the school year. And of course, you still have to do you best in the ACET.
@birdcagemind Fortunately, I've never hard any case yet. I had good grades on high school in almost all of the subjects except on Math; I'm utterly ignorant when it comes to that subject. My dad even hired a tutor from UP Diliman. However, it didn't work. Well, somehow my tutor made me understand a little about it but there are still many topics that we weren't able to discuss and I'm running out of time, so, I better focus on honing my strength than improving my weakness. I passed the DLSU Graduate Admissions Test... I took the Ateneo Graduate studies test. Both are difficult but I find it hard to answer the latter because of the time pressure. Sayang kasi I saw that Ateneo offers Master of Arts in Reading... In La Salle they have the Master of Arts in Language and Literature. WHich I passed

@crizzyzzirc I know how you feel. I was like you 6 years ago and am graduating this March. Study hard and do your best. Dont worry too much. I failed a quarter of Math in high school. That devastated me. But I still got in. Don't freak if you are having a hard time. The admissions office takes the difficulty of one's high school into consideration. Ultimately, the ACET has the final say. Review centers help, but studying on your own and being a wide reader is best.

Yeah, ADMU and UP are like forests compared to slum-surrounded DLSU. Oh well, at least the problem of classes on opposite sides of the campus is minimized. It's also what one would call space efficient.

Kahit saan niyo tingnan UST is the best performing private university in the Philippines.

so nissankicks tinalo nio na ang letran? ok good, pero mas ok parin ang letran kesa san beda. saka pwede next time wag mo isali ang la salle at ateneo, dahil kahit saang sulok mo tingnan eh wala kayo sa milestones nang admu at dlsu, san beda is a good school too. pero ikaw, hndi ka good student. wow! ateneo have nice facilities and big fields. i've been there a couple of times. the only problem w/the ateneo atmpsphere is that it seem..hmm..how do i put this..maybe lonely somehow. you barely see students walking or hanging out unlike in lasal and ust. oh well..thats how i see it

Yeah, ADMU and UP are like forests compared to slum-surrounded DLSU. Oh well, at least the problem of classes on opposite sides of the campus is minimized. It's also what one would call space efficient.

It depends on the course too. And they may have raised the tuition fee na. I dont go to school there, but most of my friends do. They just tell me about it.
I love ateneo though, if I didnt move back here, im sure I wouldve gone there. :)
