I used to think that music was always harmless and could never influence young people in a negative way. Bands like this have changed my mind. No wonder the youth of today have no respect. This is scary as hell. The good music is gone forever. Replaced by angry savages like this.

This is sick and demented and rock and roll is not supposed to be like this. The opening line of the song was obviously written by someone with very deep issues.

But that dosent mean they instigated or encourage (crap spelling) a murder, like I said it could have been any band, it's what calms or hypes people up, I know Slipknot make me in a good or enegetic mood, but some people get the same from compleatly unrelated music so, accept it, just because you don't like Slipknot or metal stop critiasizing.

@md511210 Who said I don't like metal? I grew up on metal but it wasn't sick and disgusting like this stuff is. The bands I listened to did not sing about committing murder or necrophelia. Check out the lyrics to "Born in a Casket" by Cannibal Corpse. If you think there is nothing wrong with that then you have some very serious problems. Why would anyone write something so messed up? By the way, you have the line wrong. Replace "world" with "wound".

@MrRockmeister1 cannibal corpse and deah metal lyrics in general are not meant to be taken seriously. the musicians themselves do not condone any sort of violence and they make that explicitly clear every chance they get. the lyrics are like horror stories and bands like slipknot just express anger and hatred due to teenage angst or somthin. music like this is a way for people to vent their frustration ect. instead of actually killing someone.

@northstarprod Your comment is an intelligent one and maybe the lyrics are not meant to be taken seriously but bands like Slipknot need to realize that kids are impressionable and some DO take the lyrics seriously. Kids look up to these guys and want to be like them. The 2 that committed a very horrific murder while listening to this song did not understand that it's not to be taken seriously. That's where the danger lies.

@MrRockmeister1 yeah that's pretty messed up. but I'm sure the song by itsself didn't cause them to kill. one should look at the circumstances and the sourroundings these kids were brought up in before turning the blame on musicians. and if these kids really wanted to be like slpknot or any other band, they'd pick up an instrument instead of a weapon. I understand your concern but blaming music, video games or any other artform is not going to improve anything.

Read about Corey Taylor's life and then look at the art he's made despite (and because) of what he's dealt with, instead of ending up another homeless, druggie loser and THEN tell me he's a bad role model.
