Very informative, you are helping to refresh my memory on these tasks, and teaching me some new and much simpler ways to do things. Thank you very much, and Good Job!!
I'd never used a sewing machine until 2 weeks ago, and I'm dung pretty alright figuring things out - I do, however, get stuck sometimes... As I did today with some gathering. It worked in the end, but now that I saw your video I'm sure it'll be much easier. Thanks for sharing. :)
I've been sewing for years and I didn't even know the first type of ruffle was possible! *Blush* So thank you so much for sharing your know-how with us. It's made my life so much easier now : ))
This video is sooo old but still so useful! You've saved my life and my project. Working on a patchwork gypsy skirt that needs mucho ruffles and I had no clue how to approach it. Thanks for making this video!
omg you helped me soooo muchl i dont know shit about sewing , have a sewing machine and love the idea of making my own clothing. more videos you are awsome . thank you alottt.
for the first method of showing you showed us with the 2 parallel lines, what are the settings? i know u switch one of them to 9 and one of them to 4, but for my sewing machine, i dont know which one is which.
is 9 the tightness or the width?
is 4 the tightness or the width?
thanks so much! this tutorial is really helpful ! (:
@christieandnick yeah...I have 2, they are the those too, but no numbers on the stitch length. So the "highest" setting for length is, ...tighter, or longer/shorter or wider? :) ...still not clear....and I can't tell on the video. Thanks for answering...just noticed your not "Himehood" :)
ok..so on the 1st ruffle, you said to set your machine to "the highest"...but the highest what? I don't understand...what the setting is for....tension?...what? thanks for your time:) Jules:)
On the 1st ruffle you made did you use elastic thread or is it just regular thread and you just changed the setting, this tut was very helpful thank you.
i'm new to sewing just bought my first sewing machine a few months ago, thank you so much for the tutorials, i love ruffles can't wait to try creating a few stuff
How to make a layered dress hosted by my two ducks ! Please come see it, it's my first video and I really want to help people make their own clothes like Himehood did to me ! Thanks in advance and hope you'll like it !
I never thought about the first way....hmm...but for a shirt with ruffles sleeves or just a little of ruffled design on the front...would it be best to cut a ruffle like shape and sew it on
The only question I have is; with the elastic method, how do you stop the needle from snapping? When I have used this method I always break needles. Is this just because my machine is cheap and terrible? :P
Also I laughed when I heard the Home Ice Cream bell in the background :P
YESSS! I'm trying to make a tiered skirt and I could NOT get the ruffles at all, but I tried the tension thing on this and it totally worked! Thanks so much!
Thank you SOOOOO so much for this. I've been trying to figure out how to make the skirt for my dress and this helped immensly. It's turning out great; thank you, thank you! =)
