in 1956 our class rode the Rock Island and it was in Blue Island that the cars swayed to and fro and again in the 1970s when I took the Rock Island into Chicago for meetings, darn thing swayed to and fro - management drained the Rock Island dry, not spending anything on maintenance...too bad !

@granskare Where did the money go? Obviously not to the stockholders. And "management" certainly did not leave as multi-millionaires. In fact most former RI management took a stock bath like everyone else did.

I think that first train was the ethanol train arriving from Iowa. It has mostly tankers and it usually does have that kind of engine consist. Nice video!

Excellent k5HLL in the beginning. Frank, what is it like having an HD camcorder and im assuming you use a mic? If so, i am very much been interesting in a mic for my camera and do not know where i can get one or find one. Loving the videos Frank, keep them rolling

The mic I have is built into the camcorder. 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound. Also, when you zoom in, the mic also zooms in picking up sound from whatever your magnifiying.

Ah, wow thats quite interesting.. Now i have to see some things about my current JVC Everio, which doesnt have very good audio it seems

JVC has been notorious for having low quality sound. I've always stuck with Sony stuff. I think they make the best cameras and camcorders.

Great video Frank. Nice quality to add to it. How's the XR500v treating you? You enjoying it? The quality looks simply amazing, even without the HD option. I plan to get a new HD cam soon, yet plan on making it a Canon. Possibly the HF s10 (rivalry to your camcorder). Keep 'em coming.
