Nice weapon, but that is not an AK-47. Technically, it is an AKM, the modernized version of the milled AK-47, having a stamped receiver, new stock shope that is more in line wit the barrel, and optionally the slant muzzle compensator that helps with muzzle rise.

A shot gun has a relatively big recoil but would not say that an AK 47 does. The barrel can get quiet hot after using for 3 or 4 minutes but other then that its best infantry machine gun ever made.

As a Soldier enlisted under the United States Army my weapon is the m16, i have learn to love my m16. I would never use a different weapon downrange, i bought an Ak-47 to learn my enemies rifle. It bugs me to see comments that put down the Army and its weapons, but i guess they've never been submerged into combat and just dont have any idea. You AR guys might have a rifle that can hit a man at 700 800 yards, but your round the 5.56mm isnt worth shit after 300 yards so both rifles bassically have the same effective range. if im going out 700 ot 800, i wouldnt take any assault rifle, id take a bolt action rifle. most modern combat takes place within 150 yards, so suck it and fuck it AR guys.

@CHICKENNNNNNNNN They do jam on occasion. Every now and then a shooter can get a stove pipe jam, which is where the bolt cycles too quickly and the spent casing doesn't clear the ejection port, becoming jammed in the bolt action and preventing the bolt from closing.
@WyldePhoxProductions Nope the fact is that these 2 weapon have different characteristics. You cant say one weapon is better than the other. Although i prefer the AK because the reliability and easy maintain. AK have better reliability, more stopping power, but less accurate and more heavy. M16 have less weight, more accurate, but lower stopping power and less reliability. The AKs heavier body allows the soldier to use his weapon in a hand to hand fight and its easy to manufacture.

High tollerence would indicate close tollerence, which the AK is not. Loose tollerence is what makes it so reliable but not so accurate....

@ABn5clinYR Mate there is nothing wrong with the end of the gun. Some types of the AK are made with that scooped end. I have not had my hands on an AK for nearly thirty years but this one seems to be fully functional to me. Even the springs in the trigger assembly are made of the twisted wire I remember.

Nowadays, the United States are using Scar-H/L's, M16A4's, M4A1's, Bushmaster ACR's, XM8's, AR-15's, Galil's, FN 'MINIMI" M249 SAW's, M240's, SIG-Sauer 516's, AR-10's and AR-18's. But I understand your point.

How did he pull the gas cylinder release up with his finger? Was it already loosened? I can't click mine from the detent without using the tip of a bullet or a punch. The little indentation is made for that. No way I could do it with my thumb...not without difficulty and pain. And I would have focused on the rear of the carrier when I pulled the assembly out, not the piston, and then shown how the bolt fits into the cam grooves. Once you get the bolt up and out, the rest kind of follows.
@ukramms It's mechanically quite different from the STG44, so it's not a copy I'm afraid. You can see this whether you are a Russian patriot or not one.

The AKM is a fantastic weapon... when not a piece of shit screw build like the one you have. Rebuild that thing with rivets. NDS-3 receiver is nice though.
And btw for all of you nubs... Recoil does not affect the round during the first shot. Accuracy is determined by the rifling of the weapon and its manufacture and precision of its parts. Your first shot will always land accurately barring lousy firing techniques.
Contrary to popular FPS mantra, firing rifles is not about full automatic in war and you shoot at distances above 100m usually. The only problem with the Ak47 is that it uses open sight systems, which are mostly effectively up to 50m.
no gun is "the best in the world." it all depends on who uses it and each has its pros and cons. if you can shoot a guy in the head with an AK or a M16 hes gonna die either way. M16 uses the 5.56 which doesnt pack quite a punch but gains accuracy where as the AK-47 uses the 7.62 which makes more kenetic energy but with a bullet like that the gun will kick more reducing acuracy.

But they are not very accurate. Weapons like the current M4 and others that are using the same bolt/action are extremely reliable, as well as accurate. I think the M16 gets a bad rep from Vietnam when they first came out and jammed a lot. They've come a long way from then.

@DanSVT03 When they say inaccurate do they mean it has lots of kick or the actual round itself will not go very true and straight? Because I have shot this weapon accurately (Semi-automatic) and havent seen any problems up to around 300yds. I haven't shot an M16, however. As for the M16 vs AK47 thing, compare the AK47 to M16A1. It jammed lots and had to be field stripped lots due to clogging from dirt / etc in Vietnam. US Soldiers would take a vietcongs AK if he had the chance usually.
@762rider right behind the handguard on the right side there is a little rotating lever. Rotate this 180 degrees and then you can pull off the top handguard. I know on my AK i have to use a screwdriver to get some leverage. Then you can look in the front right part of the lower handguard and there is another lever. Once you turn that you can take off the bottom too. That peice with the lever will slide forward and the lower handguard can slide off. Hope this helps ya.

I did a screw build on my Romanian AKM, I have not had one problem due to the screws. I will be building more and plan to do a rivet build on the last one I do... then again the screws have not let me down so far... nice looking rifle, excellent video.

@ABn5clinYR Mate there is nothing wrong with the end of the gun. Some types of the AK are made with that scooped end. I have not had my hands on an AK for nearly thirty years but this one seems to be fully functional to me. Even the springs in the trigger assembly are made of the twisted wire I remember.

@Gurubashy Well I'm American and I hate the M16. All mine ever did is jam and give me problems. I bought a cheap-ass Chinese AK and it has never jammed and always fired when I wanted it to. Accuracy sucks but I love my AK. I'd like to try the 74 some day. I want a Krinkov though....

@Gurubashy The AK is used because it's cheaper than a chicken in many countries... The americans use precision to reduce the civilian or innocent casualties. By the way the americans don't use that many m16's. They use more powerfull weapons now.
and I'm not american. I'm from Romania, where the official military assault rifle is the AK.

M16 platform is my choice because it gets the job done with precision. Don't even tell me the 5.56 is too weak, hell you can stand in front of my barrel and take the bullet. Sure 7.62 has more stopping power and penetration but it's ballistics suck ass compared to the 16. Try firing that gun on rock and roll and it kicks like a mule. Inaccurate as hell.

The kick of the AK shouldn't be a problem to experienced man...... you got to be a dead beat greenhorn to claim that the AK cant get the job done better than the M16...... That isn't to say the the AK is a "God" gun but it is reasonable to say it definitely CAN get the job done and much, much more!

@Gurubashy You must be referring to the M16A1, as it was very weak and jammed 60% of the time. Nowadays, the United States are using Scar-H/L's, M16A4's, M4A1's, Bushmaster ACR's, XM8's, AR-15's, Galil's, FN 'MINIMI" M249 SAW's, M240's, SIG-Sauer 516's, AR-10's and AR-18's. But I understand your point.

@Barraki148 The A1 was replaced a while ago..... The SCAR isn't standard issue.... The M16A4 is replaced by the M4..... The ACR was recalled in 2010....... The XM8 never was a official gun as it never left prototype/testing.... and other than the SAW and the M240 the rest of the Guns you named isn't "used" by the RA

How did he pull the gas cylinder release up with his finger? Was it already loosened? I can't click mine from the detent without using the tip of a bullet or a punch. The little indentation is made for that. No way I could do it with my thumb...not without difficulty and pain. And I would have focused on the rear of the carrier when I pulled the assembly out, not the piston, and then shown how the bolt fits into the cam grooves. Once you get the bolt up and out, the rest kind of follows.

@lalablablaification He wasn't the first Russian to design an assault rifle. He designed the AK-47 when the Russian started their assault rifle trial in the late 1940's and copied things from his competitors.

And btw for all of you nubs... Recoil does not affect the round during the first shot. Accuracy is determined by the rifling of the weapon and its manufacture and precision of its parts. Your first shot will always land accurately barring lousy firing techniques.
Contrary to popular FPS mantra, firing rifles is not about full automatic in war and you shoot at distances above 100m usually. The only problem with the Ak47 is that it uses open sight systems, which are mostly effectively up to 50m.

no gun is "the best in the world." it all depends on who uses it and each has its pros and cons. if you can shoot a guy in the head with an AK or a M16 hes gonna die either way. M16 uses the 5.56 which doesnt pack quite a punch but gains accuracy where as the AK-47 uses the 7.62 which makes more kenetic energy but with a bullet like that the gun will kick more reducing acuracy.

Bottom line; those who have a choice and cash spend the cash on AK patterns rather than AK patterns.

"Most vantastic weapon of our time." Definitely wrong. An AK-47 is obviously a proven assault rifle. Yes, it's dependable, it can put a lot of lead down range, and they are easy to find. But they are not very accurate. Weapons like the current M4 and others that are using the same bolt/action are extremely reliable, as well as accurate. I think the M16 gets a bad rep from Vietnam when they first came out and jammed a lot. They've come a long way from then.

@DanSVT03 When they say inaccurate do they mean it has lots of kick or the actual round itself will not go very true and straight? Because I have shot this weapon accurately (Semi-automatic) and havent seen any problems up to around 300yds. I haven't shot an M16, however. As for the M16 vs AK47 thing, compare the AK47 to M16A1. It jammed lots and had to be field stripped lots due to clogging from dirt / etc in Vietnam. US Soldiers would take a vietcongs AK if he had the chance usually.

@762rider right behind the handguard on the right side there is a little rotating lever. Rotate this 180 degrees and then you can pull off the top handguard. I know on my AK i have to use a screwdriver to get some leverage. Then you can look in the front right part of the lower handguard and there is another lever. Once you turn that you can take off the bottom too. That peice with the lever will slide forward and the lower handguard can slide off. Hope this helps ya.

I did a screw build on my Romanian AKM, I have not had one problem due to the screws. I will be building more and plan to do a rivet build on the last one I do... then again the screws have not let me down so far... nice looking rifle, excellent video.
