  • Next time do us all a favor and put a shirt on. Gross !

  • @8091pinewood LOL if freaking hot in the summer like 100 degrees.

  • cool vid... you work out?

  • @jnncbuhyc thanks bud, its hot 100 degrees sometimes

  • I didn't know Randy from Trailer Park Boys shot black powder rifles

  • @myltwon

I'm college educated. Bachelor in business and music. I don't think that I'm TT(trailer trash).

    Stay in school kid......lol...

  • @HunterTom3006 Maybe you should just google who I'm talking about instead of trying to impress people on the internet.

  • @HunterTom3006 I have to be honest I thought you looked like Randy Bobandy from the trailer park boys as well.

  • @HunterTom3006 Cool story, bro. Now, let's work on getting you a degree in fitness. Put a bra on those damn things!

  • @TheL4dgamer LOL...to much beer and ribs. Hey I'm 48 years old.

  • @HunterTom3006 Touche'

  • The man is correct. Lose the flask, or get an old 35 mm film cannister and just use that to load the powder measure. I learned the hard way as a newbie 15 years ago by having the film cannister in my hand nearly full or powder, when I dropped a load from the measure into a barrel with a hot ember. Everything exploded instantly! Severe burns on half my face and hands, and it welded my eyelashes closed. I thought I was blinded until I wiped the lashes away. My hair was burning. Be Safe!

  • @Ghstwn U must have poured the blackpowder immediately after you shot it.

Anyway I made another video using the powder measure its one minute long.

  • @HunterTom3006 Yes, That was the point of mentioning my experience as a newbie. Hence the hot ember. Also like the dummy I was that day, I was wearing no glasses. I was somehow quick enough at seeing the beginning of a large orange explosion to turn and close my eyes. Which is how the eyelashes got melted together. But saved my eyes. I did everything wrong that could be done wrong that day. I became a much wiser and safer shooter right after that moment. LOL!

  • Please, for the sake of our children, and because I like having sex with women, put a shirt on so I won't have nightmares for the rest of my life!!!!! I enjoy REAL boobs!!! and use a powder measure.

  • Put a shirt on.

  • I got my nipple stuck on a pinfire shotgun hammer once, Sexxxxy.....

  • @shotfirer1972

STFU ..... Colonial whiner ......... back in Europe we have to pay good money for shit like that :)

  • wow that is the most unsafe blackpowder user i have seen in a while..try a flintlock with no shirt, you'll get burned for real. and NEVER LOAD FROM FLASK!!! ALWAYS USE POWDER MEASURE!!

  • For those of you watching at home, DO NOT EVER POUR THE POWDER DIRECTLY FROM THE FLASK. If there is an ember in the barrel left over from your last shot, it will ignite the powder, travel up into the flask, and BOOM: no more hand.

  • Outstanding Man boobs...yours are better than mine darn it.

  • I don't really care what they say about powder igniting, but I would NEVER shoot without a shirt on. I had a cap split once and burnt part of my mustache off. Nice lookin rifle though.

  • @radarbrew If you care more about your mustache than an exploding flask of powder or wearing a shirt,.... You should retire from shooting Black Powder.

That is if you are still with us a year after that comment. LOL!

  • I have been shooting muzzle loading rifles for over 30 years, Dropping a charge directly from the flask is very dangerous, if a hot ember remains in barrel from a previous shot it will ignite the charge being poured. The resulting flash will act just like a fuse directly to the flask. The closed lever is by no means flame proof, and you will quite literaly have a hand grenade going off in your hand when the powder in the flask ignites

  • So explain to me how U would load the BLACKPOWDER rifles? Thank you

  • I usually use a POWDER MEASURE at the gun range.

  • SERIOUSLY...... If U shoot it then imediately pour the powder in it probably will ignite.

U should always wait up to 30 sec before u load the 50 cal rifle again.

In this video i waited 5 minutes until i reloaded the 50 cal rifle.

At the rifle range i wait up to 1 min.

Hunting..... well after the first shot your chance reloading a BP rifle again to shoot that deer is slim.

  • Tom a muzzle loading speed loader is a plastic tube in this case slightly larger than a .50 cal ball. They can be two chambers (best for conicals where you keep powder on one side and the conical on the other) or one. I like the one chambered speed loader for round balls. I put a round ball with a lubed patch in one end and the measured power in the other. In the field you pour the powder down the barrel and keep the tube over the barrel while you push the ball in.

  • i have a cva hawken rifle 50 cal missing ramrod will sell for 100.00 free shiping

  • You're in the field, just shot at an elk, you whip out your flask and pour--but there's a spark/ember in the barrel and BOOM. And I didn't invent this--the warning has been around a long time. In the Learn Muzzleloading (DVD) there is even a demonstration on how one spark can set off gunpowder.

It is just a bad habit to get into because of the danger when you've been firing the gun.

I always use speed loaders in the field--its faster too.

Otherwise this video was nicely done.

  • Did U know that this HAWKEN RIFLE doesn't use speed loaders. U are confused between the MODERN blackpowder rifles using speed loaders. U load the OLD FASHION WAY.

    1) Gun powder first

    2) loubed patch

    3) round ball

    4) then RAM ROD

    5) percusion CAP

    6) fire

  • I believe that what dfcurran is referring to is like the ones I use in my Hawken video. I have a wooden box full of plastic vials of triple 7 that are pre-measured to 50 grains each. That way, if there's a glowing ember left in the bottom of my barrel, the only thing that could ignite is the 50 grains I just dumped in it (although I have yet to see that happen). Those vials are called "speed loaders", even though they're completely different from the modern speed loader for cartridge guns.

  • They sell actually "speed loaders" (plastic tubes that hold everything you need for a single shot from a muzzle loader) on sites like cabelas and the possible shop, but I didn't feel like paying through the nose for three friggin vials, so I bought a bag of 50 plastic vials for $10 off ebay that just hold the charges. That's all I need pre-measured anyway.

  • That being said, I'm still guilty of the "sin" of loading my BP revolvers directly from the flask. If it blows up in my face one day it's my own damn fault. I just hate measuring the same thing twice.

Great videos man, thanks for sharing them! :)

  • The fact that you dropped powder directly from a flask into your gun bothers me. A spark in the barrel could set off a flask like a bomb. It's much better to measure your power out first then drop only that in.

  • Explain to me how are U going to set off a SPARK in the barrel when there is no CAP on, u apply the PERCUSSION CAP at the END of the loading procedure, the LAST thing u do. Powder from a FLASK to the barrel cant set of a spark, brass of plastic.

I appreciate your comments I always want to learn more about weapons.

    thank you buddy.

  • Dude, BP is dirty. Like they said, you can have embers in the barrel that will set off the powder and blow your hand off. That's why you use a powder measure and keep the barrel pointed away from your head. I've seen peeps on youtube have it happen to them.

  • Yes, I have a POWDER MEASURE and use it at the gun range for safety.
