What is righteous?

The bible, not a vision, is to be our sole basis for our answers. If the bible doesn't back up a doctrine, or theory, then we should dismiss it as not being given from God, no matter who spoke it..

Ellen white had many visions, but in the sabbath vision we do not see where Ellen challenged the spirit to prove himself.

She says the angel carried her to the Holy City, which I can only assume is the new Jerusalem, in the city she saw a temple.

Error number one: Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Surely the angel that carried her there would have known that, if it was an angel of God?

The ceremonial Sabbaths were part of offerings and ceremonials.

So now when you see Col 2:16 (meat, drink, holyday, new moon, sabbath dayS), this is ceremonial language not Ten Commandment language.

You can worship the Lord who made heaven and earth everyday. Revelations 14:7 is not re-stating the sabbath command, its restating WHAT God we are to worship, not when.

Do you really think that because God wrote it, it makes it more important than the rest? Look at the greatest commandments, even though the WHOLE book of the law hangs on the two greatest commandments, the two greatest commandments were written by not God's finger, but MOSES hand.

The law, all of it, including the ten, was given to show you how guilty you stand before God and that you stand before God condemned unclean. Its all of them that Jesus had to blot out at the cross for you.

He starts off with the Sabbath and calls it a holy convocation...The sabbath even had an appointed time, the seventh day, just like all the other feasts. The bible even says:

It had an appointed time, it was a sacred assembly, it was a holy convocation, it was a feast. This was just one sabbath that happened more often than the rest.

It had specific instructions just like all the other feasts. sacrifices, incense, shewbread, rest, a specific day for all these things to be done, just like any other feast.

It was not separated into a moral law capacity from the rest.

What happens when we do this is people start to create their own bibles..such as the Jehovah witnesses with the new world translation, or the Mormons with their book of Mormon...and it hasn't escaped the sda church either, as they have the clear word bible.

While the clear word bible might not be widely distributed amongst the seventh day adventists...it does contain changes in it due to the doctrines of the seventh day adventist church..for example:

Deut. 5:3 It wasn't ONLY with our ancestors that He made a covenant , but with us and with all who are alive today.

The word "only" doesn't exist in the hebrew bible, nor in any of the other english translations I've seen. It was added due to the belief that the ten commandments existed before.

You do realize a Sunday law has existed about 2 time sin the past right? Once back in 321 a.d. and another back when Ellen white lived.

Ellen white said there was nothing wrong with gathering and doing the lords work on Sunday, which allowed her followers to get out of being persecuted back then.

but this isn't about the sunday law, or even about sunday....This is about searching the scriptures and finding that definite proof, and if its not there be willing to change.

Sunday nowhere in the Bible. Sabbath of creation is in the Bible and if you don't use line upon line, you will be lead astray. Here is how the Sabbath was kept from the beginning it's right in the Sabbath commandment:

Why keep it Holy? didn't it start at mount siani? No the fact it says KEEP it Holy is because it was Holy already, we are to just remain keeping it Holy.

Its in direct violation to the law of God. The same way the 3 Hebrew men didn't bow down because it was against the commandments of God, is the same way it is today. One of the Commandments of God is put to the Test. And it is the Sabbath which is forgotten.

This goes right back to Cain and Abel.

Cain served God through WORKS which is against the commandments

The law is bondage because under the law we stand condemned. If we are under the law we are doomed to obey it all, not just the ten commandments, but the whole law, and if we don't we stand condemned.

And considering we have all sinned, we already know we're condemned by the law.

This is why Christ came to the earth to be the end of the law for all who believe, so that it can no longer condemn us. He came to be our righteousness, came to nail all our sin upon him, blot out the handwriting.

If I keep the ten commandments, that doesn't mean that I have to keep the ceremonials. That makes no sense. Adam and Eve didn't do any ceremonials but I am sure also that they didn't kill, covet, lie, etc (well theyd did covet but thats not the point)

The Ten commandments are the standard. The ceremonials were added BECAUSE of transgression. How can you transgress if there is not law to transgress??? There had to be a law in order to transgress

If you try to go before him, without the blood of Jesus, and try to say youve kept law. He will look at you and say that you are a worker of iniquity.

The righteousness you bring before God is not your own, its Jesus righteousness, which was never attained because of your good deeds, but because of faith in Jesus Christ.

But the bible tells us that by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

In Galatians 4, we see Abraham make a fleshly attempt at fulfilling the promise of God by taking Hagar to try and attempt to procreate the heir that God promised, instead of simply trusting in God to fulfill his promise.

When men try to obtain the righteousness of Christ through keeping the law, they are making their own fleshly attempts at fulfilling the promise of God

God is working his wonders in us so that all the glory belongs to him, people who dont deserve it, receive it.

Remember, the woman who kissed and washed Jesus feet, whose sins were many, she was forgiven because she loved much not because she was perfect.

The love in her didnt come by way of keeping the law; she was a sinner for pete sake. She left the room righteous, not because she kept the law, but because she loved Jesus.

Dont you see? The purpose of the law was not to give us any type of righteousness; it was to reveal sin, show us as a sinner, and bring us to our knees before God so that his grace might be magnified, so that he would receive all glory, honor, and praise.

The thief did nothing but cry out to him to remember him and he was declared righteous in the eyes of God, not because of any works he did, but because he believed in the lamb of God.

Christ was NOT the End of the Law, but the fulfillment and purpose of it. End is a poor translation. Look it up in any concordance or Greek dictionary. Not one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law till all be fulfilled. The Law is necessary to judge those without grace and the Great Judgment has not yet come to pass. Then it wll be fulfilled and the law that condemns will be no more.

Righteousness is doing according to the Commandments. It is amazing that antinomians do not use arguments against the other nine Commandments but do against the Fourth and against the aggregate that is the Ten Commandments.

Christ is the "end" (or example) of the Law to be righteousness. Meaning the spirit of the Law which defines character. BTW What is the original word in Greek for "end"?

The Ten Commandments were given to the first Adam, the carnal man. The NT commands are the fulfillment of them. Notice Christ made adultery of greater consquence and accountability. Why? Because it and the other NT commands are for the SPIRITUAL man, the last Adam. Do you know the fulfillment of each of the Ten Commandments? You won't find them at an SDA church or any church. The sabbath was basically given so that people would remember the Lord who sanctifies them, that he was the same Lord who created heaven and earth, the same Lord who led them by his mighty hand out of the land of Egypt.

This following is a point to consider..Adam and eve didn't need to be sanctified, they already were perfect. They didn't need a reminder of the Lord who led them out of Egypt when they hadn't been in Egypt.

Jesus had sinful flesh but He rebuked sin in this body by not sinning once. Not even in mind.

So having a perfect nature is nothing if the character is not perfect. So if we want to sin here on Earth, we will want to sin in Heaven. That is why we have to use the grace and overcoming power of Christ to FULLY forsake sin. And I know people are scared of saying that we are to be perfect like He is.

If you hate sin and fully want to turn away from it, your perfect and the grace of God has impact!

Early Writings Page 32 & 33 are two different events. She is talking directly at what is happening in Heaven right now.

She says there were the prayer of the saints, The time of truoble, the different appartments in the sanctuary. How can she be referring to this in the New Jerusalem?
