@rjmrfun knife or night? Its a peter atwood knife, probably a ghoul or a goblin. And no you cant buy one. He makes tiny batches and they sell out in hours. Ive been trying to get one of his pieces for months, but they are never available.

@CODallnightlong So you can carry your knife on your neck, belt, or molle gear in a secure custom molded sheath which is impact resistant and unaffected by water.
I do not have any knives with kydex sheaths but I know yuo can buy it in kits for around 11 dollars. When yuo buy the tools for kydex making thats where it starts to get expensive.
great video! i've seen lots of rave reviews on kydex sheaths and was wondering how hard it would be to make my own. you made it look easy, i wish i had tools like you but i'll make it work with what i have. thanks again for posting!
8bennugent, if you didn't have them it could easily break by unfolding. They are holding that side together like rivets. They also come in handy for attaching the sheath to things.
right u are. or they are old people like jim moyer, eddie white those guys are older gentlemen but they've been doing it for years and their knives are flawless. check them out
i'm not being a dick but how come the cooler a knife makers knives, the nerdier the maker? I know lots of makers and am practicing myself and every single one that makes great quality knives is anal retentive and nerdy, could this be that they are the only ones with the skill and attention to detail to complete such tasks?
any ways GREAT video best one on youtube i've found..
Thank god for people that know what they're doing and can work a camera to boot!!
for everyone viewing this... you can get the same results with much less of a professional set up. I do all the same using a few small hand tools, a dremel (and attachments) and a heat gun. you can also make your own forming press using a decent dense foam and some wood to back it with.
So where do I get some Kydex? I'm in Canada. I have a Kukri coming in the mail that I'd love to make a sheath for, plus a few other fixed-blade knives that need sheaths.
I don't believe Mr. Atwood's shop does custom kydex. There are many, many people out there who would no doubt love to take your order, though. Try searching on some of the knife forums or Google. I know BladeForums has an entire subforum dedicated to sheath making and sheath makers.

where do you buy kydex??, also can i cut it with just a hacksaw or a dremel. I also don't have the thing you used for the eyelets lol And where did you get that knife?? It looks kool!!
Well done! I had no idea that sheaths / holsters were this easy to craft.

Do you have to use a arbor press for the eyelets or can you use the dies and a hammer? Trying to avoid buying a 75$ press I will only use twice...
KimberTactical45 1 year ago
@KimberTactical45
You can get a machined hand setter to set the rivets at knifekits (dot) com
look around some they also sell foam sheets for the press $8 each or you could spend over 50 on a press like this.

one thing i'v always wondered and hopefully you guys can asnwere... if the kydex molds around the knife how do you take the blade out of the sheath?
KunaiKnight 2 years ago
it doesn't really mold over it.
it's folded, so you split where it's folded, and just pull the knife out, he does it at 1:22
i thought that when i first started too. (:
