  • @rjmrfun knife or night? Its a peter atwood knife, probably a ghoul or a goblin. And no you cant buy one. He makes tiny batches and they sell out in hours. Ive been trying to get one of his pieces for months, but they are never available.

  • Great video......Thanks

  • Thanks for posting this... I appreciate you sharing your knowledge...

  • Thanks for posting. Your plethora of tools make me jealous!

  • Do you have to use a arbor press for the eyelets or can you use the dies and a hammer? Trying to avoid buying a 75$ press I will only use twice...

  • @KimberTactical45

You can get a machined hand setter to set the rivets at knifekits (dot) com

look around some they also sell foam sheets for the press $8 each or you could spend over 50 on a press like this.

  • @BuffaloWarrior7 thanks for the reply i will look into the hand setters, cool video

  • How do you attache the loop or clip so that it can be worn on a belt?

  • @frankgon4

That's what he was marking holes for--for a Tek Lok, which comes with the hardware to attach to a sheath.

  • @CODallnightlong So you can carry your knife on your neck, belt, or molle gear in a secure custom molded sheath which is impact resistant and unaffected by water.

Why the hell would you not want one?

Kydex is molded into: Gun hostlers, Knife sheaths, flashlight holsters, mag holders, ect.

  • excellent demonstration!

  • where can you buy the kydex i can only find it online and want to know if there are any stores you know that have it

  • you're my hero. instead of buying a 110 minute dvd for $30 I just watched this and learned all I need to know.

  • where can i buy that kydex material?

  • Awesome job. Thanks!

  • what knife is that one u were making the sheath for?

  • right tools for the job, nice

  • This is great. It's like what would have happened if Mr Rogers chose a different vocation!

    Very good vid.

  • @ahz123 Ironic comment..........did you know Mr. Rogers from TV was a commando?

He was the bmf'r ever to teach kids...............

  • @bluerazors Actually, that was a myth.

    It was disproved.

  • how many mm thick is that kydex?

  • how expensive kydex is?

  • @razorsharpness4 : about $5 for a square foot

  • I do not have any knives with kydex sheaths but I know yuo can buy it in kits for around 11 dollars. When yuo buy the tools for kydex making thats where it starts to get expensive.

  • @razorsharpness4 Like $5 for a 12x12 sheet

  • great video! i've seen lots of rave reviews on kydex sheaths and was wondering how hard it would be to make my own. you made it look easy, i wish i had tools like you but i'll make it work with what i have. thanks again for posting!

  • nice video.

    Ciao.

  • Thanks very much for sharing. Like your work too!

  • that knife is fucken small!!!

  • please help what size eye lids are you using cause i have kydex i made my sheath and now i am gonna clean it up but dont know what eye lids i need

  • @nightwalker2830 he used a 3/16th drill bit for the eyelits at 3:55 in the video hope that helps

  • Will you make custom sheaths if someone sends you a knife?

  • Is there a stage in which a vacuum former would help?

  • do you need the eyelets

  • 8bennugent, if you didn't have them it could easily break by unfolding. They are holding that side together like rivets. They also come in handy for attaching the sheath to things.

  • right u are. or they are old people like jim moyer, eddie white those guys are older gentlemen but they've been doing it for years and their knives are flawless. check them out

  • i'm not being a dick but how come the cooler a knife makers knives, the nerdier the maker? I know lots of makers and am practicing myself and every single one that makes great quality knives is anal retentive and nerdy, could this be that they are the only ones with the skill and attention to detail to complete such tasks?

any ways GREAT video best one on youtube i've found..

Thank god for people that know what they're doing and can work a camera to boot!!

  • @knivesaretools Art is in the details.

  • GREAT video, thanks!

  • for everyone viewing this... you can get the same results with much less of a professional set up. I do all the same using a few small hand tools, a dremel (and attachments) and a heat gun. you can also make your own forming press using a decent dense foam and some wood to back it with.

  • where can you buy kydex? plz reply

  • google kydex sheet and wammo

  • Check out Knife Kits

  • google it, its everywhere!

  • Comment removed

  • quick question where do u get that Kydex from/? if u dont mind me askin

  • Go to knifekits(Dot)com. Lots of kydex, lots of colors, too.

  • you mean sheaths?

  • what kind of knife is that?! :)

  • where would you buy kydex ? I could make all of the other stuff no problem :D awesome 1 step closer to making my own neck knives >:D muhahaha lol

  • did you make the knives that were in the video???

  • that would be a good liner for a leather sheath.

  • So where do I get some Kydex? I'm in Canada. I have a Kukri coming in the mail that I'd love to make a sheath for, plus a few other fixed-blade knives that need sheaths.

  • you make sheath making look easy.

  • Thank you for your contribution!!!

  • one thing i'v always wondered and hopefully you guys can asnwere... if the kydex molds around the knife how do you take the blade out of the sheath?

  • it doesn't really mold over it.

it's folded, so you split where it's folded, and just pull the knife out, he does it at 1:22

i thought that when i first started too. (:

  • ohhh! thanks for explaining that dude!!

  • yeah man

  • wow,

really nice of you to show how its made..

    5/5 & Faved

  • the press is very necessary, you need a lot of pressure to form the kydex properly.

  • Very informative and interesting, thank you!

  • Can a sheath be made out of kydex or concealex for a knife with a guthook?

  • I want it a custom Kydex sheath. Can you contact me?

  • I don't believe Mr. Atwood's shop does custom kydex. There are many, many people out there who would no doubt love to take your order, though. Try searching on some of the knife forums or Google. I know BladeForums has an entire subforum dedicated to sheath making and sheath makers.

  • your shop looks amazing

  • Where do you get the kydex

  • Check out Harva-Plastics on eBay. They sell 12x12's

  • to small for me

  • Is that a Fortis, on a Watchadoo Bracelet?

  • Damasko DA36 :D

  • Nice, German. Comes only on leather... So, I was right about the Watchadoo?!

  • Probably, you should ask Mr. Atwood, he is a active member in WUS.

I wear my Damasko on TF Canvas Strap.

  • where did u get the eyelets?

  • wow I already have all the tools needed to work the kydex I just never bothered to research it until now.. It's alot easier to make a sheath than I thought...

  • Oh that's hott!

  • What a perfect example of American ingenuity.

    Great Video

  • COOL I'd like to see you do a large knife or even a folder next. Thanks in advance!!

  • i love youtube

  • more vid more vid very good work 5 stars

  • cool... never seen a scotch brite belt, I bet we could use that machine in our shop.

  • Wow very cool you make it look so easy

  • really nice, it looks & sounds like it has a perfect fit with the blade

  • nice demo

  • verey nice work

  • Nice work

  • Nice work, that's all I can say. Really clean and quick turn around.

  • If I gave you the materials do you think you could make me a kydex sheath for a kukri with a 15" blade

  • You DO realize that this is like asking a mechanic if he'd put parts that you bought into your car, right?

  • I love the press, and he improvised screwdriver. Totally looks like what I would do. Just need to buy some kydex.

  • Very nice!

  • great video peter! Check out my video where I show off one of your cool skeeters, lol...I love that thing!

  • Obviously a perfected technique, nice job.

  • Do you make sheaths for a price or do you only make them for your knives that you make? I got several knives I would like sheaths for.

  • where do you buy kydex??, also can i cut it with just a hacksaw or a dremel. I also don't have the thing you used for the eyelets lol And where did you get that knife?? It looks kool!!

  • Look at who the video is from.

    Google attwood knives.

  • i own/have access to most of those tools and i can probably even get access to a toaster oven but, where do you get kydex?

  • Do you haven't too much tools to do it ??

  • Nice job Peter
