  • I came across this looking for a fragrance for my best friend (who happens to be a guy)... and OH MY GOSH! This smells so good. Not sure if he'll like it but I'm defiantly buying a bottle for myself.

  • @beautyncharm It's so zesty-fresh, right?

  • This stuff smellz sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. I just bought some and sprayed it everywhere. On my pillows and curtains. It smells Exactly like a freshly cut Grapefruit. And it's not overpoweringly sweet.

  • @MSeverwonder Sounds like you're getting maximum enjoyment from it!

  • why i oughta ...neroli portofino smells EXACTLY like MUGLER COLOGNE by THIERRY MUGLER !

    ...why i oughta

  • KATIE THANK YOU! Thank God you didnt say this is Grapefruit / ROSE...like every review online. Rose isnt even in the notes! I like that you said it has a floral type note. Its a combination of the rhubarb / vetiver in this that I think gives it the floral grass smell.

I get so agrivated with basenotes people sometimes when they claim a fragrance has a note just because of a french word used in the name...

Love ur reviews, they are spot on.

  • @Xrposiedon Thanks for your plaudits! Yep, "Pink Grapefruit" is the translation from French, but you can see where most English speakers head down the wrong path when they read "rose."

  • @Xrposiedon from hermes' own site; "A sparkling and delicious sharp freshness and a refined floral note of

roses. A classical Cologne, standing out thanks to its very modern composition."

so how is rose not in the notes.

just bought this for myself - looking for a summer citrus scent for a man. it's very nice!

  • Katie, do you have Eden by Cacharel? What do you think about that one? I'm not sure.

  • @AnneLien1987 From what I remember, it's odd and appealing.

  • @AnneLien1987 Hey Annie, though your question was referred to Katie, I must tell you that some people (like me ;) have a terrible allergy to this perfume. I get asthma attack whenever I'm standing next to someone that wears this perfume...

  • @lisasim That's too bad. Are your allergies triggered by any other perfumes?

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Fortunately no, but one of my colleagues begged me not to wear L'eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake (one of my favorites) for the same reason. Strange!

  • @lisasim Bummer!

  • Enjoyed the video! I do like this one esp. for summer. I agree - citrus is kinda short on gender, so it's a great one for guys.

  • @RedneckPerfumisto Hear hear!

  • what is happening with your possible show on the oprah network?

  • @greenlimabean It turned out I wasn't eligible, because I used to have some shows on Oxygen.

  • Dear Katie - Have you ever smelled Estee Lauder's Tuscany per Donna EDP? If so, what's it like?

  • @steeletara01 Haven't smelled that one...

  • Atelier Orange Sanguine smells just like an orange, like someone else mentioned, do you know it, Katie? (Sporty sneezy...ha ha!)

  • @conpanyvino Yes, I just encountered it the other week for the first time. Orange-tastic!

  • Hi, Katie. My sister and I went to The Scent Bar today. We had a nice time. Steve was so nice. I'm sure he'll remember us because my sister knocked a stool over, and I knocked the phone off it's cradle. Haha. I chose something by Yosh.

  • @Sevipants19 Ha-ha! Sounds like you guys were trying to trash the place in one visit! So glad you got to meet Steve - he's fantastically excited about perfume and so helpful. And now when you wear your Yosh, you'll always think of your LA trip.

  • Hi, Katie.

  • I'm in Santa Monica!

    I just got here!

Oooooooo I'm going to The Scent Bar.

Texas girl finally got to LA to visit the Luckyscent place!!!!

I sound like a dork, but Katie knows it's exciting. Right, Katie?

  • @Sevipants19 TOTALLY exciting, and yes, spoken like a true perfume dork. Scent Bar is the Disneyland of niche! Say hi to Steve and Rachel who work there.

  • What are your top 5 fragrances from Frederic Malle ?

  • Quality and classic in beauty i see in your videos, Katie!! Your job is wonderful!!!

  • Could you do a review on peace, love and juicy couture

  • I think I read somewhere that Ellena does not mean "rose" as pink but rather as the flower rose, so that it is simply grapefruit and rose. But maybe alone the flower evokes a red or pink smell!

By the way, what do you think about Kelly Caleche?

  • I think I would love this fragrance! What are you wearing on your lips in this video?

  • Hi, Katie, I really missed your videas, but you're so changed from what I remember or from "lovely from s.j.Parker".

the quality of your videos also has improved...

  • Hi Katie, your reviews are getting better and better. Congrats on that !

Since you've mentioned it in the video I would like to know from you what you think about the Tom Ford Private Blend collection. I've completely fallen in love with Tuscan Leather !

  • I've been eating a lot of grapefruits this winter and I love the smell the peel leaves on my hands. Maybe I should check this fragrance out. Are there any more feminine grapefruit scents?

  • @starlight739 check out Guerlain's Pamplelune. Well priced, lasts a while, and well made. grapefruit with a little creamy vanilla and earthy patchouli. only about $60 at Sephora.

  • Love your reviews! Can you do one on radiance by britney spears??? I have heard good things about it :)

  • I watch your perfume reviews just to listen to your "verbosity"! :)

  • i've read in magazines that certain scents smell better on blondes than brunettes, and vice versa and so on...and blondes are supposed to smell their best in florals...

which bore me. is there any truth to this? does your skin tone/hair color change the chemistry of a scent, or compliment certain scents more? or is it all a gimmick?

  • Funny thing about grapefruit; I can't stand the flavor, but I love the fragrance. It's one of my favorite essential oils to use to refresh my senses during the day. One of my more recent buys was neroli, which...Wow. Delicious, floral, but definitely citrus. A rose dipped in orange liquor. By the way, great review!

  • sounds just like me - flowery but bitter (and also sadly. leathery)

  • That is such a gorgeous shirt!

  • Katieee!! Whatever happened to you listing your makeup in the description box you gorgeous little sneaky thing?!

That aside, it's just a treat watching your reviews. Brava!

  • Hey Katie, I would love to see you reviewing Molecule 01!

  • The Eau de Gentiane Blanche was very interesting as well when I tried it previous summer, very dry and fresh.

  • What kind of foundation do you use? You simply glow! Or are you pregnant or something? xD

  • Hahaha seven dwarfs ;DD

  • "Subtle, Yet Deep!" LOL!

  • Do you have a script for your videos? you're so witty and classy.

  • @RedDragon45 No script, just bullet points that I know I want to discuss.

  • That's cool, very nice of you to take the extra time! Also, thank you for taking the time to reply, makes me feel special and gives some reassurance of you being a real person that smells! ;-P

  • @cHr15T1naMB Haha...oh, I'm real, all right!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells And hey...you SMELL! lol =P

Hope you had a great holiday and Happy New Year!

    Hugs! Shannon

  • Great review and I really love this scent and may get a bottle soon. Have you tried Atelier Orange Sanguine its the best Orange fragrance I have ever tried just like a fresh glass of OJ to me.

  • I'm absolutely dying to try Guerlain Imperiale, have you got an opinion on it?

  • I love eating pink grapefruits but not smelling it.

  • unrelated.. Pamplemousse is probably one of my favorite words. thanks for reminding me :)

  • Katie, You are so sweet for listing the products you used in the video! I know I was also asking about your lipstick and cheek colour all the time - i'm really happy to be able to read it. :) If i do find this fragrance, i'll be sure to give it a sniff (as with every perfume you review ) :)!

  • Have you always listed the cosmetics you are wearing in a video, I don't remember?

  • @cHr15T1naMB I never used to, but I kept getting questions about my makeup and requests for info.

  • Nice review! I still have to get my nose around this one yet

  • This perfume sounds like it would be PERFECT for me. I must try it. :D Thank you love ♥

  • So if i already have a bottle of Terre D'Hermes should i skip this one since they are close to each other ?

  • @Bigpete9000 Eau de Pamplemouse Rose is a lighter, citrussy version of it.

  • This is a great unisex fragrance.

  • I love your reviews! I was wondering if you could do a review of the DKNY Be Delicious perfume?

  • Would you also recommend Eau d'orange verte and Eau de gentiane blanche?

  • @19myself91 Yes! I personally love Eau d'Orange Verte the best.

  • lolol @seven dwarfs

  • would this perfume make me look 10 years younger? also is it a long lasting perfume? thanks Katie

  • @MrRic2828 Hah. It lasts longer than a citrus fragrance normally does, owing to the woody base.

  • katie i miss you so much .. nice review , yesterday i got my Rose Oud By Kilian 50 ml its great fragrans did you try it ?

  • @A7laQ6ri By Kilian Rose Oud is one of my big obsessions of the last year. I wrote 2 posts about it on my blog - check it out!

  • katie, Thanks your comments are always so interesting. Have you any thoughts about Jacomo's No2 ,No8, and No9. I have No8.

  • @21Caussie Thanks! Haven't checked out the Jacomo line.

  • sounds like its back to the corner for me. sounds gender neutral and citrusy so out i go lol :P

  • OOoo....sounds like a 'must have' for me. Darn you Katie!! (I mean that in the kindest of ways). ;^)

  • Today I held it in my hands and put it back on the shelf. My drugstore is going to see me again tomorrow.

  • Definitely a great fragrance! I love JCE's minimalist compositions. At the first wearing it seems simple, but then the more you wear it, the more you start to realize it isn't so simple at all. I may buy another sample of this, because I really did enjoy it. Since I've learned and sampled a lot over the past year, I may understand it a bit better, and it may become a purchase. Right now I'm actually testing Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Pampelune and I'm quite liking it! It's grapefruit galore!

  • @CanwllCorfe615 That one was TOO "pucker up" for me the last time I tried it. Vague sense of cat-pee. Or maybe the cat just peed and I was blaming the fragrance! I should revisit.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Oh no I definitely got that when I first tried it. The sillage is what really does it for me. Up close it smells almost TOO realistic. It's kinda the same story with Encre Noire. Up close it smells, to me anyway, too intensely earthy. However the sillage is absolutely gorgeous! It took me awhile to warm up to it. I'm happy I ended up liking it, because the bottle is so perfect.

  • Great review Katie! Sounds like something I would really love! Definitely going to go check this one out. Thanks!

  • @cformosa4 Thanks, Cubby. Go make your nose happy.

  • what did you think of the new Korres fragrances? If you had the chance to try them out that is...

  • @Bowiegirl75 I only got to try them very quickly in London about a year ago...I wish they would come to the US so I could really explore them. Have you tried them? What did you think?

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells I've only tried them quickly myself while shopping for a friend, they seemed quite well made although nothing too complex or overly sophisticated, at least that was my first impression, so don't quote me on that :-)

  • @Bowiegirl75 I found the Korres rose scent to be nothing special. I generic fruity rose. I enjoy the other two though. HOWEVER, they are not long-lasting at all, at least not on me!

  • @Bowiegirl75 I have tried all three, actually. You can get them from the Korres USA website OR if the website is sold out you can sometimes order them directly from the flagship store in NYC (this is what I did). Of the three I think the pepper jasmine is the most striking. It's a slightly fruity slightly floral tobacco scent with hints of white chocolate. Could be worn by a man or a woman. The saffron/amber is also a gorgeous warm, smooth, woody scent. I love this one also.

  • i almost purchased this last year,i am a total hermes addict, the fact that the bottle matches the concentre d'orange vert bottle that i already own makes me want it even more.

  • Yay I love your reviews! What do you think about chanel allure edp?

  • Could you do a review if Thierry Mulger Womanity? :D

  • @missravenashley Yep - already did! Search my reviews.

  • sorry katie, i couldn't resist posting a vapid comment since i'm so rarely first. =)

great review as always. you demonstrate your knowledge of perfume history as well as your ability for creating hilarious little witicisms. thanks!

  • @mayandarko Thanks for your well-intentioned vapidity. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying my fragrance ramblings.

  • Could you review, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy PLEEEAASEEEEE

  • woooot
