I have been a big fan of JSU for going on twenty years. As a trumpet player myself, I have some RESPECTFUL criticism of what I see here. It has been a problem for JSU and the SWAC in general for years IMHO. These fanfares were overblown and pitchy. There is no doubt these cats can play, but they dont play well together. It aint always about being able to scream and play loud. A good section can PLAY together and pay attention to pitch while respecting the melody.
