What I've always hated about stargate was dialing ... sometimes fist the "gate ring" rotates and efter that the gate is activated and sometimes the gate is activated suddenly ...

The only thing I'm always disappointed about in SG1 is the horrible dragon from season 10. It looks like it comes from season 1. It would have been classical there, but in season 10 it looks so 'computer-ish'.

But SG is still the greatest SciFi franchise ever.

@GearsOfWarGod345 probaly cause the shield on the ori ships prevented that, asgard did not believe in using that technology for violence until it was too late, and even if they did install the asgard tech there was a whole episode about using the core the ori can track them it took sam years to learn to control all their technology to go back in time

The Asgard likely devolped the plasma beam weapons specifically to be used against Ori ships. They probably figured collapsing the Ori's shields would be nearly impossible. They got around it by firing the weapons in secession making the shield fluctuate enough for the weapons to eventually punch through the shield. This would explain why the weapons barely scratched the superhive.

Well, thats what the Ori tried to do, went on a "Crusade" and replaced freedom with fear. Good thing SG-1 stopped them

1 thing i dint like about that episode compared too the arc of truth is their shields were ALOT weaker, on ark of truth they had like 6 ships shooting beam weapons at them for like 6 minutes, and they weren't destroyed, lol (if the replicators weren't there they would have slaughtered the ori fleet :)

the ZPM plus the Asgard core and the replicators provided the additional power I do believe. It should be interesting to find out the power levels on that particular ZPM and if it is anywhere near depleated due to that battle,

Septimus3144: actually theres no Goa'uld in this movie, the hataks over there belongs to free Jaffa and Lucians and they are part of the milkyway fleet which was formed against the Ori :)

the asgards didn't have the bean weapon in the battle against the four ori ships. they only developed it after that battle. and, it was still in the experimental stage when they gave it to Odessey.

the only reason they did not use the beam weapon is that it require s especially powerful Asgard core that would also could be tracked by the ori. Luckily it can be turned off and use the regular earth core.

@GearsOfWarGod345 What I don't understand is why didn't all the ships focus fire on the Ori Ships, that would of done the trick. Beam weapons work better cause they focus fire and break the shield like popping a balloon with a pencil instead of spreading the fire around the shield.
