The video is synchronized, if you watch the original slideshow, which is also on the youtube page you will see this. The students and the stage managers had little time to prepare for all the details of the show including the lighting, play, dancers, etc so I do not fault any of them for the mistiming of the pics.
As far as the people not representing much, the people shown in the video are all Iranian which is what the song is all about. It represents diversity and pride.
Not all the people on there had to be famous, they were just everyday Iranians exhibiting pride, again a representation of what the song is meant to do. The song says I AM IRANIAN, it is an anthem for Iranians everywhere. As far as the other individuals, you mean to say people such as Anousheh Ansari, Golam Reza Takhti, Rumi, Cyrus the Great, and above all people FERDOWSI among others don't represent much? To me they are many among even more that represent just that, great Iranians.

your rap was amazing but the power point was a bit weak.
