Even though this review may seem bad for a zelda game it really isnt that bad in fact its my 2nd fave game of all time it has everything a zelda game should have sure it isnt perfect but the story os just amazing if you havn't got this game please get it you wont regret it
I think that Twilight Princess, was, in fact, easy. It had no actually difficult puzzles in it, and all of the enemies could be dispatched easily. However, I feel that Twilight Princess was entirely more epic than any other game nintendo had released before. Especially in Wind Waker, although the story lines are pretty awesome, they are not acted on in a way that lets their epicness to their true potential. I mean, look at the Hidden Village in Twilight Princess.
What kind of a person who liked Ocarina of Time would be pleased with a game like that? It has very little technical depth with its own gameplay, and the experience you'll get out of it and sense of immersion is lacking. People are better off replaying OoT or Majora's Mask.
I completely agree with you. I thought Tp was the greatest Zelda game. But there are so many flaws. Even when I thought it was really great, there were many things I thought were silly for example: Why do you receive a whistle to call Epona when the game is nearly over? She is useless by then.

I'm a HUGE Zelda fan, but TP was just not the greatest. It is, IMO, the worst of the 3D ones. I still liked the game very much, it just was not very original, had too many boring things to do, and was too easy.

@ZeldaGameGod Well, I bought the Wii version because I heard it was the best of the two (and because both of my memory cards for the GameCube are full), so I'm out of luck... Nah, I would perfer the Wii version over the GCN version anyway, because the Wii version (while sometimes unresponsive) is very innovative, unlike the GCN version which is just an Ocarina of Time with better graphics and some different elements (not that that's a bad thing).
@QuickQuackReviews For me, the two versions are not so different. I feel they each have positives and negatives. I didn't find the Wii version all that revolutionary since they pretty much just replaced the 'B' button with a waggle action. Although the targeting system was a very nice thing to have with the Wii remote controller. I feel Skyward Sword will be more of what "revolutionary" Zelda is expected to be.

The game seems entirely unbalanced in its difficulty, and at many points is an easy romp, and at other points is almost undoable. BTW, I do recommend buying this game to anybody who hasn't, however, I would recomend Skyward Sword instead now.

Yeah, TP did feel like OoT v2.0, but it's the best one I've played since Majora's Mask. If you ask me, it's the ones on handhelds that have that assembly line feel.

Hey man, great review. I agree with your criticisms, but i think I enjoyed the game a lot more than you did as well. I think even Nintendo agrees with your criticisms, or some of them. Aonuma said they had the sense they had made TP "too big," and what he meant was there were these massive, wide-open spaces, but they were empty and there was little to do in those spaces. They are trying to fix that for SS, so can't wait for that one!

Agree with alot of what you're saying. The thing is however, much of your criticism revolves around personal preferences and opinion. It would be impossible for the game designers to incorporate every single zelda fans idea of what these games should be into each new entry. I definitely see where you're coming from. Those wolf parts looking for the tears of light was plain God awful. And the bosses WERE extremely easy. I found sub-bosses harder then the main bosses. But still the bosses I feel were just a bit o fun eye candy after enduring a difficult temple, even though that's no excuse for them to be easy. This actually is my second favorite Zelda though (Wind Waker is my first), but it's all opinion in the end.
you know what sucked though? my nephew overwrited my game when I was almost done with the city in the sky! he's only five so I know accidents happen but instead of going to the gamecube and fighting some huge dragon, i was stuck back in ordon.

hmm...I love TP with all my heart...but come to think of it, the game really was way to easy (for a Zelda game that is) Especially compared to OOT. TP was very chronological, unlike some others like you mentioned. Nice rating on it though =)
i think that the storyline was neat and the gameplay was fun but to easy the only part were i had to use my brain was the water temple (not including the boss)
Also, great review. I think all your points are valid, although (and this may just be my perception) I don't think this game is as universally loved as you think it is; I feel like the pendulum has swung the other way and TP has become slightly underrated.
I thought this was a great game, but the wolf parts just made me want to stop playing. Also every other Zelda game i have played I have gone back and either continued to play, or started over again, but i have no desire to replay this one.

I think you got it spot on, I too felt the same about most things you pointed out, and i was worried it was just me. The feeling of wasted space on hyrule field sucked, I just dont know if they'll ever release a game that comes close to Ocarina Of Time, have they set the standard too high? I loved the Wind Waker personally, even if it is a lot different I thought it was totally awesome in its own right, I did think this game was good too, just a couple gripes.
lmao come here chicken..i agree mostly with you. the lakebed temple was a great design, it just got me really confused. you would keep having to go back an dforth from each room, but it was alot of fun. TP really makes you think about what to do next. The bosses were really easy, most involved an eye that you had to attack in some way. except for the mini bosses, which were still easy. and in the hardest parts, midna, or another side charater, would tell u wat to. It still is a great game thou.
My favorite game out of them all it Ocarina of time, and Twilight princess is my second, yes I beat in maybe 5 weeks after i got it, and after the game is boreing, but i love how Twilight Princess looks, and too me Twilight Princess seened to be the more darkest (evil) game in them all, and Gannon dies in this one that leaves a question, Is there going to be another Zelda game?
I agree with this review hard. But the thing that I think was the worst with this game was the music. All the temple themes where BOORING, you could only hear some wind blowing or a thew drum hits randomly. I can't remember any temple theme from TP, while I can remember ALL themes from Majoras Mask. And I really missed having an instrument! Sure, you could howl when you where Linkwolf, but that was just at some points of the game, and I thought the sound of the howl was a bit annoying.

The magic armor looks so cool. I want that sword and shield wii controller (I didn't know they have that.)

For real though. I too have the Wii & GameCube version... I even have the new Wii version just so I'd have lol all three. I had 20 bucks on me at the time & I was like I'm going to spend this on something!!
Was the game bad? No. Could've been a lot better though. Hopefully we'll see a much better Zelda game on Nintendo's new Hi-Def console coming out this year.

Metroid Fusion and Sonic Adventure 2 in the intro = overflowing with win.
Yeah, TP did feel like OoT v2.0, but it's the best one I've played since Majora's Mask. If you ask me, it's the ones on handhelds that have that assembly line feel.

TP is awsome!!!!!!!!! u r so wrong! how can u waist space? i think having so much space makes it seem more real. and being able to choose levels just would NOT work in this game, there are so many twists and shocks that it would make no sense to say, find out midna was princess of the twilight and then do the forest temple. i like games that feel like ur going through a story, and i don't think there wasn't enough to do, I have like 508 hours on that game just because i mess around so much.

Hey man, great review. I agree with your criticisms, but i think I enjoyed the game a lot more than you did as well. I think even Nintendo agrees with your criticisms, or some of them. Aonuma said they had the sense they had made TP "too big," and what he meant was there were these massive, wide-open spaces, but they were empty and there was little to do in those spaces. They are trying to fix that for SS, so can't wait for that one!

Agree with alot of what you're saying. The thing is however, much of your criticism revolves around personal preferences and opinion. It would be impossible for the game designers to incorporate every single zelda fans idea of what these games should be into each new entry. I definitely see where you're coming from. Those wolf parts looking for the tears of light was plain God awful. And the bosses WERE extremely easy. I found sub-bosses harder then the main bosses. But still the bosses I feel were just a bit o fun eye candy after enduring a difficult temple, even though that's no excuse for them to be easy. This actually is my second favorite Zelda though (Wind Waker is my first), but it's all opinion in the end.

hmm...I love TP with all my heart...but come to think of it, the game really was way to easy (for a Zelda game that is) Especially compared to OOT. TP was very chronological, unlike some others like you mentioned. Nice rating on it though =)

Mainly the Malo Mart cast...and the music...I could sit in there for an hour listening to that damn theme.
Though one thing I'm surprised you didn't bring up...MIDNA.
A game where the "help" character is actually useful and likable!
I seriously hope she gets at least a mention in future games.
Though basically I agree with you on most points..while this still seems like a pretty good game it just could have been so much more.

I agree being a wolf was a bid of a pain and I HATED the skull kid part and the pazzle that you needed to beet to get to the master sword. I do love the game never beet it but I got close. I liked tilight princess most at first im 13 and it was the only one i could get really (for wii) i loved it but then i bought ocarina off wii shop channel my brothe rused to goon it and i used to watch him so i wanted to goon in and i think it was wayyyyy better and twilight princess stole alot of ideas from ocarina such as the zoras freezing. twilight certainly isnt the best

I think you got it spot on, I too felt the same about most things you pointed out, and i was worried it was just me. The feeling of wasted space on hyrule field sucked, I just dont know if they'll ever release a game that comes close to Ocarina Of Time, have they set the standard too high? I loved the Wind Waker personally, even if it is a lot different I thought it was totally awesome in its own right, I did think this game was good too, just a couple gripes.

lmao come here chicken..i agree mostly with you. the lakebed temple was a great design, it just got me really confused. you would keep having to go back an dforth from each room, but it was alot of fun. TP really makes you think about what to do next. The bosses were really easy, most involved an eye that you had to attack in some way. except for the mini bosses, which were still easy. and in the hardest parts, midna, or another side charater, would tell u wat to. It still is a great game thou.

My favorite game out of them all it Ocarina of time, and Twilight princess is my second, yes I beat in maybe 5 weeks after i got it, and after the game is boreing, but i love how Twilight Princess looks, and too me Twilight Princess seened to be the more darkest (evil) game in them all, and Gannon dies in this one that leaves a question, Is there going to be another Zelda game?

I agree with this review hard. But the thing that I think was the worst with this game was the music. All the temple themes where BOORING, you could only hear some wind blowing or a thew drum hits randomly. I can't remember any temple theme from TP, while I can remember ALL themes from Majoras Mask. And I really missed having an instrument! Sure, you could howl when you where Linkwolf, but that was just at some points of the game, and I thought the sound of the howl was a bit annoying.

even if the world was a little too big, thats not really a bad thing. again the game being linear is not really a bad thing. it sucks but htats not really a big deal to me. I didnt care much for the wolf parts either. if i remember correctly u have to do a side quest to be able to buy the magic armor. The TP bosses were so epic.lol yea the people are freaks. I know I'm going to enjoy this since it's my favorite Zelda Game. Nice intro on the wii screen. To bad I only have a game cube. I'm surprised you picked this since it wasn't your top 5 Zelda games. It has a cool name great graphics and new ways to fight. I hate fishing in this game. Yeah it was difficult to figure out were I was. But the wolf parts are interesting. The magic armor looks so cool. I want that sword and shield wii controller (I didn't know they have that.)
