If you use emulator to record Amiga games, in Walker you have the option to set up speech! In the RAM, you'll have to put 2MB of Chip and 1MB Fast! You should have the option to set up speech while playing the game!

The original movie is recorded with 25fps, as in the early longplay days we didnt use 50fps, so every 2nd frame is missing, thats exactly the ones where the heat meter would go up one pixel due ot the autofire in WinUAE.

But of course you knew all that already, why else did post your well informed comment!

Ive got this, I remember it on the Amiga (500?), the one with the floppy drive in the keyboard and 1meg ram or something lol!

This brings back ancient memories a gwarn! I also had Ruff n Tumble (sick game), GODS (again, sick), Magic Pocket (sick) The Chaos Engine (insert sick disc) FlashBack and Another World (need I say anything?) First and Second Samurai (2 players FTW everytime "oh no, my sword!")

Well... It's not that difficult...

Download WinUAE and install

Download Kickstart... 1.3 or 2.0 or other ones (As you like) for the older games i recommend 1.3... (2.0 or later sometimes gives weird GM screens) (NOT GOOD)

Start that up in your ROM (winUAE)

Set your settings... In case of a Amiga 1000/500/2000 use the motorola 68000 CPU

Start the emulation and see if the amiga disk appears.

In the settings of RAM... Don't go overboard... (some older games might also give you GM then) but adjust to your likening... 1MB chip, 1MB Slow and 2MB fast works like a charm for me(68000)...(A lot more than most A500/1000 had anyway)

Restart and if the disk appears again... all is well...

You now need some software.

Just download it, unzip it like the rest and set it in one of your floppys... or virtual HD....

It's all pretty much abandonware...

Hmm... I believe increasing the available RAM or something in the emulator would make the game load in extra sounds and/or speech (usually small voiceovers at the start of missions). I never really knew what Walker was about (story-wise I mean) - I always thought it was some faceless robot causing the world a major headache, but with the voiceovers loaded in, it seems more like it's something that's being sent through time to win wars and adjust the timeline... I guess!?

I actually had the box for the game, it tells you on the back that the scientists of the future send the walker back through time to all the major conflicts of humanity to 'correct' them so that humanity will survive longer in the future.

The trick is to tap the fire button fast.

Elimination of the heat factor definitely makes the game a lot easier. I played this game through with no heat crack on amiga, but couldn't win the third level without it. The game is very hard and I'm just happy it's posted here.

First of all WinUAE does have an autofire option, second in Walker if you used a CD32 honeybee pad (those had autofire switches) you could achive the same thing. End of story!

This game was totally awesome. I remember playing it over and over.. I really laughed my ass off when I saw the end.. I remember thinking "All that.... for THAT?!?!?!?" Then promptly doing it again anyway. I've gotta go look for a similar playthrough vid for SWIV... That was awesome too. Did't psignosis do the 'Shadow of the beast' trilogy? They were mega hard too. I never completed the first or second one but i pissed the third. They made it too easy. Shit i got vids to find... bye!

One of the best Amiga games of all time.

It really needs a modern remake. The Nintendo DS would be perfect for it. Use the D-Pad to move, the Left Trigger to fire, and the Stylus to aim.
