I mean, he was trying to imitate Ailen by Ridley Scott; so, here is the scene with the giant maggot raping the blonde ( I saw this one on TCM late Friday night a few months ago). But is compares nothing to John Hurt having his chest explode. One is really disturbing (Ailen), but the other is somewhat erotic. This movie should be called crappy imitation, but I still enjoy it. (I love films, some mainstream, but mostly cult.)
This is a fun movie. The monsters are cool-looking (the shadow alien that disembowels Baelon is especially creepy), the cast is good, the music is appropriately eerie, and the special effects are well-executed: all-in-all, a typically good flick from New World Pictures and Roger Corman.
Galaxy of Terror is far from being a contender for worst movie of all time. It's competently-made, has a fine cast, and some effective monsters.
I don't see why this movie is as bad as everyone say that it is. First of all, its from 1981, fucking 30 years old, and 2nd; except for it starts with a crew that to land on a planet to investigate a distress call, I do not see any resemblences to the first alien movie. But also, I don't see why this is rated as one of the worst movies ever made, I have seen alot of movies that are worse than this.
