@amoralis123 How is Liu Xiaobo a "rebel rouser"? He is a scholar who has spoken eloquently about the need for freedom of expression and democracy in China.
Liu Shit Bo provoked students to make riot and wanted to bring down the China government. He was LUCKY that he did this in China, and sent to jail for ONLY 11 years. If he did this in USA, he will be sent to Guantanamao, being tortured without any court decision, and jailed forever. Or maybe he will end-up like Martin Luther.
@halim181276 Hello, I agree that Guantanamo is a problem for the US. And of course there are other problems. However, many thousands of people in the US have protested and expressed anger at the government, and they have not been jailed or harmed. I believe that people should be free to criticize their government in every country.
My man, Ibrahim Jassam, a journalist from Iraq was once emerged by Reuters to report the war in Iraq. He was sent to Guantanamo and jailed without any court decision since 2006, because his report was so complete that the world will know the truth about Iraq war.
In US, you are FREE to talk about anything that you disagree. But will the government listen to you? When you talk and somebody don't listen, it's called bullshit. So in US, IT'S FREE TO BULLSHIT.
YEP, more than 2,000 signed (1,300,000,000 - 2,000) did not. Hurrah for majority. Fear of China is groundless. It has a very very long way to go. Besides the Earth does not posses enough resoources to provide an equivalent life stylt to all her inhabitants like the US or Scandinavia, even if the whole world starts living on the basics. Awarding the Prize to a rebel rouser is an insult to the prize but then so are: Obama, Perez, Dalai Lama & now Xiaobo. Dum Norwegians.
@amoralis123 I think Hu Jintao should of got the prize for his tireless efforts to promote world peace, as well as an open and fair China, and good relations with all its neighbours. Dum Norweigians.
