@Legend813a I laughed hard when I saw this video, but it _wasn't_ this lovely beautiful game console I was laughing at...
If memory serves, in that Last game, she generates a random number that you are supposed to guess... she then tells you how many digits are you entered are in the mystery number and also how many are in the correct position...
She catered to creativity (Patterns game) and education and not just the PacMan in everyone...
@JDonahue79 Yeah I was really lucky to find one for $30 because normally one in good condition costs like $200 on ebay. Mine even has a really beat up box with it and a couple complete in box games that are also not worth playing.
We use to have one of these systems too. I also played around with the RCA Studio II Emulator. To bad nobody never bothered to finish releasing the complete set rom images such as Bowling etc.
that's like telling a coin collector or stamp collector to stop collecting stamps or coins cause they're stupid. like my video title, I'm the Game Collector.
@Rickstilwell1 there were so many bad consoles back in the 80's and 90's. today's video game have proven more technology and performance within their gameplay
Its true that even if its one of the first video game , at the time this system must have been beated to dead by the fairchild channel f and the atari 2600
Yeah what's sad about the RCA Studio II is that the Fairchild came first and was already in color and better. It's as if RCA stuck with the original blueprints even though someone came out with something better before its release. If they wanted a good system, they should have gone back to the drawing board and upgraded. I think there actually was a color version of the RCA Studio II overseas.
There were 3rd party clones (probably a few years later) that do colour: Sheen M1200, Conic M1200 and so on. I own both an original RCA Studio II and a Conic clone. The latter has the power connector on the main unit, no sound switch but outputs sound through TV. Some RCA games appear in colour! If the Studio II would had those small updates plus detachable controllers, it may actually have stood a chance vs the Channel F, even though Atari VCS was much superior.. which was the PS3 of its day.
lighting causes glare on the TV screen. so its either you see the game or you see the system. I'm not redoing his video though. It's not worth the hassle of hooking up this system.
Technically, you're wrong. The Magnavox Odyssey had cartridges, not really enclosed in a case...and the Fairchild Channel F system had the first case-enclosed cartridges, followed by the RCA Studio II. So for those who want to be technical, the Magnavox Odyssey was the first of everything, except the Channel F was the first programmable system and the first not to use screen overlays. So the RCA Studio II was 3rd in cartridges.
It's been a long time, but I think game 2 (game?) was pattern. Like game 1 but you could hit a button and it would repeatedly draw the pattern on the screen. Game 4, I think you can control the speed of the car with the 2 and 8 keys on the opposite keypad. Timed ending. Game 5 you just add the numbers as fast as posible. We had a few carts for it. Black Jack, Fun with Numbers and Tennis/Squash (Pong). I think you won the game after 255 hits playing alone. (The system literally crashes).
I read the manual for Freeway and it says that the game ends after 2 minutes and scores you on distance traveled once you are done. Well how was I supposed to know that?
And the number game is Addition... how was I supposed to know that when there is no + sign... Terrible.

also they overlook that there is a 2nd gear on the speedway game, and that you were to add the three digits together on the last game shown.

@ArmyTank00 Some people enjoy collecting old electronics, especially ones that are notoriously terrible. See also: the Magnavox Odyssey.

For bowling the 2 and 8 keys hook the ball. (It's about the only way you will get a strike in the game.)
