everything in this game is uglier than my grandma's grandma... i mean sure gameplay matters too but in this case the looks drag it down so much that superb gameplay would not save it... and besides it's gameplay doesn't look very exciting either.

Theres nothing wrong with the animations. Play warhammer online to see some bad animations. You cant play for 10mins without an animation for an ability freezing at some stage or doing the animation half way and then stopping.

The graphics for buildings and landscapes are definately on par with say, Oblivion, as a standard in the RPG industry, however the animations I have seen are tremendously awful, this game NEEDS more polish.

Eh, not really Darkfall has very very poor character animations, the controls are fairly anoying and takes time to get use to. I was kinda disapointed from what I seen from Darkfall, don't get me wrong its a alright game but I was expecting awhole lot more. Also my ping in game with DSL is 125-175 so it can get laggy at times when you have to connect to Athens Greece American servers aren't due out untill next year.

Animations suffer because Aventurine doesn't have as many resources as Blizzard. Not even close. So, considering this, they've done a FANTASTIC job with what resources they have.

It never was about the graphics anyhow.

Well I don't like to look at a blob on the screen with a hammer nor does the next guy, graphics don't matter in certain games but in MMO's of today that count just as much as the next thing... The odds are if the game has 1999 graphics it's gonna suck due to lack of funding. I haven't played WoW in like 3 years? but I can say this Darkfall will never ever be anywhere near as successful or big as WoW, the game is lacking in a few key area, most will see this once they too get to play the game.

The animation sucks, the enviros are bland and generic and the textures are all the same palette.

The enviornment looks great, I dont like the stiff movement of the characters though.

Admitedly the graphics are better in this game, but the artwork and scenery of WoW makes the game work without it needing to have a top of the line graphics engine. As far as visuals go, WoW looks better.

Audio is shareware quality, though-- the footsteps are the same for anything he's walking on, and are clearly recorded indoors or in an alley or something.

And the music...is that from Hearts of Space?

Looks like it might be good enough to survive for a bit, but they've got to fix some of that stuff.

Those of us who are sane aren't complaining because of negligence or with the intention of not playing the game--if the person contradicts what they're saying like that then your point is valid and I have no comment on that..

Some of us, however, wish to see the game succeed and provide constructive criticisms that would improve it further. I'm almost certain that Aventurine will polish those animations that look less than satisfactory, but that comes last so I'm not too worried.

We've known for about 6 months now the running animations suck - I'm pretty sure we don't need any more poop jokes about it. Audio and running animation is all unnecessary fluff - at least it doesn't sound painfully annoying.

The world looks great, especially considering beta has locked graphic settings at medium or low (forget which).

The stiffness of the upper body while moving is a little distracting. When he starts sprinting at :40secs the small amount of movement in the right arm is a big improvement. The left arm looks extremely stiff all the time.

The only way to be in 3rd person is to have a weapon drawn, so I tend to always run around with a weapon. If you sheathe it, you a forced into 1st person view... I don't like the system at all.

Animation seems okay, i don't see what the gripe is all about... anyways the graphics are on ultra low, and resolution is on 800x600 if I read it correctly, so don't worry about the graphics.

They have said befor(cant remember where i read it) That If you sheath your weapoon you go into first person. Which is why you never see anyone in these vids running around in 3rd person without thier weapon drawn. Oh and No im not in beta. Hopefully I can get in though
