The term "La Raza" does not literally mean "The Race" it is a common slang term like the word "N_GGA" and it is used by Mexicans/Mex-Americans to refer to one another [but not limited to just Mexicans], just like the black youth does with "N_GGA" ...they use it as a term of endearment not to offend.
