Notice the sVN version. It was a comparison video over that 120+ revisions. I need to do it again now that we are in the 6000's of svn and this game is 100% perfect even with x8AA and x16 QAF.

sorry to bother you, been trying like crazy to get this Mario Kart Wii to run at least more than 50-60 FPS, i thought this watchdog would work nice. Mario Kart is the only wii game id like to play on the Wii.

have a 512MB video, dual processor, 2.20 ghz, 3 MB of ram... NVIDIA..

question for you actually is where did you get the watchdog build, that is what i cant find and been searching for hours.

The watchdog is now obsolete. Head to forum and pick up the newest svn. I believe we are at 4890 now. They've improved many things since this video. If you don't get the required fps it will be due to your CPU. 2.20 is ok but dolphin is extremely demanding. Even my e7400 has problems even when I drop XP to the batel 22 system processes and OC the cpu to 3.4 ghz. Check out forum and read over the mario kart thread for more help.

yeah i saw in forums that most require a 3ghz, so i was scared when i saw that i only have 2.2ghz...

ill check out the mario kart thread, i have 4977 now actually, and its probably about 1/4 a second behind

Don't know what to tell you man. There are many things you could do outside it being something hardware wise. Search out the program gamebooster. That will help a small bit. Also make sure your directx and video card drivers are up to date. Try playing in directx instead of open gl. Depending on your computer specs that will help too.

@jedikevin20 ok ill check that out, the gamebooster, was thinking about downloading it.... so far what ive noticed after playing the shell cup is some boards run at 35 FPS, which is pretty good it seems, but most run at 18..

ill try out the gamebooster and let you know how it runs, reason letting you know is that maybe others have this problem and can read, as thats how i learn and google my problems :)

when you oc your cpu, what do you change the fsb or the multiplier?

Its either or. You really just have to find the best through trial an error. Sometimes its better to lower multiplier and up the fsb or vice versa. Google up kara. There are some deep tutorials out there on how to overclock. More knowledge the better.

Im assuming you are using an ISO. Did you need to download some masterkey? In addition, I've read that the older svns actually run faster (namely the 3000-3300) is this true for mario kart wii? Thanks in advance.

Rip your game from wii into a iso. No masterkey needed and older svns run way slower. Infact ths svn i'm using is really slow compared to newer ones.

I managed to rip it this morning. The svn I downloaded was 4750 (latest i think) and I run at around 40fps ingame. I got a core i5 750 (2.6ghz) and an msi gtx 280 OC (1gb). Im still hell confused about the watchdog thing. In games such as capcom vs snk2, if i put watchdog to 1, the game runs faster (but still not playable) (15fps). If i turn off the xfb and safe texture cache, it runs fine but the pixels are messed up.

Watchdog is in a nutshell a limiter for your GPU. The timer is a patch to the original svn and has been messed up for a while now. Also the wii emulator is CPU intensive (only 2 cores though) more then gpu. So in a nutshell your i5 is running more or less a core 2 duo at 2.6 ghz in dolphins mind since it only utilizes 2 cores. Try other svn's. The newest ones are really slow right now as they are working on multiple wiimote support and crashes.

Yeah emulators seem to only utilise 2 cores at the moment. Im having similar problems with pcsx2 (ps2 emu). I was still suprised that I could run mario kart at 50fps, considering the emulator is a mulri platform. I just need to wait for quad core support :P. Thanks for the info. Happy new year.

You set it up to do so. It would be better if you explore the forum for your answer. Game works with njoy , 360 pag plugin, or the wiimote plugin.

you can just assign keyboard keys to it... but possibly with a bluetooth connection to your computer you can use a wireless controller... personally i find the keypad more useful than the wiimote since it usually lags on me...

Dolphin only accepts dumps of your game. Wii emualtion is goign so well due to the fact its more a extension from the gamecube which was already in good development. Ps3 really has a LONG LONG way to even being started to be emulated since its a completely new infastructure to work with.

Nah. The emulator has gotten much faster since this svn. Only problem is games break while others begin to work. Constant development brings constant change.

Tried all my settings on this rvn? Check description. Also check the dolphin forum as there is a big thread on this specific game. They actually got it even faster if you use the D3D plugin but its a bit buggy right now. Make sure you have newest directx(august 2009).

Yeah mine too. It was ten times better than the game cube version, the gameplay of which felt slow and laboured, a complete contrast with that of the 64 version which was more fun, faster and had a lot more shortcuts on the circuits. I've yet to try this version, although, it looks pretty much like the GC version speed wise. I guess I'll have to give it go first!
