The original Dolls were not the best musicians, but had the best show, very high energy even by today's standards. Very raw sounding and fantastic showmen ship. The singer still has fantastic stage presence. Doesn't jump around like a nut trying to prove something. A natural talent refined.

They each probably earn about $30,000 a year from live gigs and what they get from royalties, which amounts to very little. Look at Paul Collins from The Beat and The Nerves, he makes most of his money from touring and buys groceries with the royalties.

Not the same without Thunders but still pretty good. Hard to believe Johansen is 62. Chop off his head and he's still got the body of a 10 yr old boy. Guitarist looks more like Steve Steven than Thunders. The Strokes lifted their entire act

I saw these in New York a couple of years, wasnt sure what to expect....got there early, down the front. Detroit Cobras on first....cool. The Dolls took the stage and all I can say is that it took me 3 days to get my hearing back properly....and it was fuckin' great!!
