@tightheadprod if u look, actually, according to the 2001 census, 46.3% of northern are catholic, 0.9% are defined as other, 3% choose not to answer leaving 49.8% of n.ireland being protestant, not a great majority, given it was near 89% in the census of 1961...gap's closing, given that the oul taigs breed like rabbits..god knows what the 2011 census will reveal, given that catholic families are usually bigger than prod families. time for a referendum of unitity by 2021 me thinks??

The unionist people are but imports to Ireland decended from Scotland, England and Wales. The UK arn't occupieing Northern Ireland, it's there because a majority wish to remain part of the UK, and now that the troubles are over most of the Republicans are seeing this and have been convinced.
