can anyone please answer a dumb question: is an overdrive pedal the exact same thing as a distortion pedal, just different names or are they seperate things?

@kristerkr - In commonly understood "guitar speak" overdrive indicates a low-to-medium gain pedal that mimics the soft breakup of a cranked tube amp. Distortion usually indicates a higher gain, hard-clipping, more aggressive sort of sound. It's just a shorthand way for guitarists to describe two distinct varieties of distortion. Hope that helps. Andy, why will they never make this pedal again? I've been looking for one for awhile, if anyone knows where one is available I want it...I watch ebay everyday for one but i haven't seen one yet. I want to stack it with my Kanji eternity, I love the tone of those together, sweeeet!

Wow... That's a doozy of a combo right there. I'm pleasantly surprised that Andy decided to bust out Boston's 'Smokin' riff. I think he actually got a pretty Boston-esque tone especially since he didn't have a mess of EQ-ing stuff in front of it (throw an MXR 10-band in there I think you'd have it just about nailed).

I'm the proud owner of an Ultimatum Distortion Generator and I don't think it's been any closer than that. I wonder if the guys at Rockman Central have seen this....

Try adjusting the internal output trimmer for more output. It stacks better with an overdrive with the trimmer set to unity, not boosting.

how do I do this? I still find it annoying that when the volume on my other Kanjis at 3/4 and this one is at 3/4 that when you stomp this on, the volume goes way down.

It's not meant to be annoying, Sean designed it to compliment the other Kanjis, so the internal bias trimmer is set that way. If you want more output, simply increase the trim pot but it will also changes the tone and character of the distortion.

I found the problem!!! Although the distortion pedal is quiet on its own, my problem was the order my kanjis were in. The Classic Distortion MUST be first in order for it to boost the other Kanjis. If it is placed after another Kanji in the chain, the distortion will greatly reduce the volume. I'm pretty happy with my results now. Thank You PGS!!!!!

this video is another example to ME, that tele and stratocasters sound so much better and more defined overall. only in very high gain and in solos les paul and humbuckers sound better. i bought a chopper humbucker for my strat and play it in paralled mode 99% of the time because it just sounds better to me. anyway it's about the pedals here and i love all the example sounds it gives
