  • someone needs to remind Yi he's in the NBA not CBA. Those CBA workout moves don't work on Nba players in the post mostly.

  • @audisport bra.. those moves are the same. He can play 500 apm warcraft

  • SUCK MAH DICK NIGGA!

  • he needs to make more contact and bump the defenders, good moves but too soft for the nba post players

  • move 11 is so awesome!

  • The caption is wrong.

It's actually 18 Moves that he SHOULD use.

  • probably the most boring useless vid on youtube

some of the moves are just repeats of previous ones, fuck man

  • 17 traveling

  • Course they can what are you sayin

  • 13 is the best

  • lol, dont get me wrong, he would eat me 1v1. but um.... is this vid really worthy of posting?

  • #5 is funny!!

  • Lolz 18 moves? Too bad he can't use any of it in the NBA cuz he sucks...

  • #6 is the best move i've ever seen in my whole live

  • #6666666666 babyyyy

  • more players should make these. its cool.

  • This is fucking embarassing...

  • you didnt mention the peking doggy stlye

  • dude he's got some nice moves

    move 14 was good

  • man wdh? u call taht defence?

  • massive travel first time he does number 4

  • asian pride.

  • yeah every player in your neighborhood, thats why there all in the NBA? please.. the guys 7 feet shoots and drives, how many 7 feet pros do that? you can count then on 1 hand.

  • he's not a center...will play small forward. the players in your neighborhood are probably quicker...but not close to seven feet so the flash they sizzle with can't compare to this guy. and while his minutes aren't "guaranteed", sixth pick by the bucks probably means he will get his share

  • wat is the point of this???

  • Yet they will never play a minute of professional basketball.

  • Yi Jianlian (the tall guy) is in NBA now :-P

  • anybody notice on move #4, he double dribbles, on the first showing

  • its not a double, he only takes one dribble. you thought it was two because of the slapping sound in the beginning of the first showing. that's merely yi putting two hands on the ball in a sort of slap

  • oh yea, i watched it again, now i see it.

  • no, he didn't..

  • dunk the ball everytime you have an opportunity dont lay up it ever in the nba. specially if your over 7 feet

  • Tim duncan hardly ever dunks and he's a all-star eventual hall of famer.

  • yah timmy is nasty, most successful ugliest game player, he does have 2 of the most underrated players tony and manu, they do get credit but not enough for clutch plays in those championship runs

  • you should watch his games he plays a lot more aggressive..no need to be aggressive when just doing a demo video. (he is a lot better than Yao.) watch his summer league games he put up 20 his first game (but he was playing against bench players and rookies..) he def needs to get stronger though..he is gonna knocked around by the big centers in the league

  • number 13 is pretty funny

  • china boy is getting owned in the SUMMER league.. another ha seung jin? possibly

  • That guy isn't even playing defense, even if he was tall and athletic

  • yao was a great center from the start. this kid is going to be good in the nba. he has the physical tools.

  • I think about 3 of those moves would work in the nba. Its fine against a guy 3 inches smaller, but against top defenders with athletism. He needs to be more aggressive. Look at how yao got picked on in his first few seasons, its only now that he's starting to be aggressive and dominant that his ppg averages are improving.

  • Yeah in the NBA there are plenty of mismatches due to switching on D. SO those moves will work fine. the Aggressiveness will come along as he gets hit a few times.

  • Those plays worked when he played the U.S. team

  • man it'll be so tight if he could go on the houston rockets... because they have great defense already, all they need is someone who can score and run the court. and also they need someone who can be as good as t mac and yao because shane battier and the others suck

  • shane battier isnt out there for primary offense, its defense and the 3 ever now and then. but i agree, it would be nice if he could play for the rockets, GO CHINA BITCH!

  • How can you be #6 when one of you're 18 moves is throwing the ball of the backboard and catching it? Anyone with one arm and one leg could do that.

  • This is a just demonstration. DOn't assume that's all he can do.

  • thats rebound boy, dont be so dumb to think that that's all he's got

  • yea 4 isnt a double. the noise you hear that sounds like a dribble is him actually slapping the ball with his hands.

  • my ass he has 18 moves, he obviously has more.

  • that was hypnotizing..

  • the director of this short movie is fucking stupid....

  • he is going to be good in the nba

  • you count rebounding and free throw shooting as moves?

  • this vid is gay.. he shoulda thrown down some more dunks

  • y sud he throw down more dunks it aint s spirit slam dunks contest u prick u cant judge a player on a mature point of view u idiot

  • wtf was the point of this video, this showcased nothing about him, a chimp could do these things

  • i think he could do alright in the nba after a couple years he could develop into a decent player.

  • just to clear it out, "4" is not a double dribble, it's pivot, then a dribble. you wouldn't use this move unless you just caught the ball! Therefore, he would not have dribbled TWISE

  • you are totally right well u spelled twice wrong BUT THATS NOT THE POINT the point is you are right

  • jimmy ur a dumbass stop talking

  • LOL..for starters, there could have been numerous takes of these shots and probably were!! and those post moves and rebounding - LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE 'D'!!! he's mini as. Also might i add he's 6 10 or whatever and hes laying up???

  • Is it just me or is the court a little low compare to the NBA?

  • *yawn lol

  • the first one labeled '4' was double dribble.

  • okay, cool guy, he only bounced it once.

  • Younger than Duncan.

    More agrressive than Yao-Ming.

    Faster than Dirk.

    Shoots better than SHAQ.

(Wait, even my 30year old nephew shoots better than SHAQ.)

    HA..HA....HA...

  • that's cuz shaq's too muscular and heavy..so his flexibility is bad~~

  • first off.. he will most likely play Power Forward like Timmy and Dirk(of course with the secondary position being Center)

and its highly unlikely that conley jr. will get 3rd pick.. he'll run mid 5-8's.

  • and i dont recall ever stating that my knowledge of the game was as great as yours.. I was simply ridiculing the other fools that they have no clue wtf they are talking about such as "highpriest"

and my point would be.. that your probably just another Kobe dick-rider like all the other "i know everything" people.. :P

I can talk about past drafts just as much as you can.. but theres no point.. im saying that Yi is gunna be an explosion of asian.

  • oh, hey, i was trying to respond to highpriest...maybe i misclicked...only the 'good points' was directed towards you.

i think conley's going third because the hawks are going to get a bunch of shit if they don't get a PG.

  • oh haha. =x

but yea i have a feeling that conley will get "jewed" in the draft =[

    we will see tho.

  • [read this after my first comment below]

He shoots extremely well from 13-20 feet. For the people that say his games like Dirk's can go crawl under a hole and die. These 2 players have different game.. as u can see YJL is showing us his basic inside game.. and shots around the basket from freethrow line extended. Dirk's game flourished from behind the arc and from mid-range shots. YJL has a better inside game then Dirk does, but Dirk has a better shot then YJL.. cuz Dirks a better shooter

  • good points.

  • first off airrick ur a fuckin moron.. hes a fuckin video clip deal with it.. they aint playin a fuckin game.. they are showing his lame "showcase" of moves.

highpriest u dont know shit about the game ok? go cry and try to brag to someone else fag... your probably just another Kobe dick-rider.

    as for Jianlian..

His games very polished. I have a feeling he might start off pretty slow in the NBA, but I know he has the potential to pick up the pace.

  • but to conclude this pointless discussion with u ignorant noobs, YJL will have an impact in the league.. slowly... but surely... and watch.. u might even see YJL and Yao Ming practice together sometime ;] haha u never know...

for the record.. YJL beat Yao Mings record for most dunks in the Chinese League already.. so jokes on all u dumbasses huh? morons hahahaha..

go learn somethign about basketball then u guys can come talk to me.. -.-

  • who is this loser defending him. that guy sucks, why dont they find someone decent to play against him

  • I see a lot of Dirk in him, but he has his own thing going too... I could definitely see him being an allstar someday.

  • Yi is nice...dude below me doesn't know basketball. Yi's more polished than any other post prospect in the draft besides maybe Brewer. It's a video. Calm down.

  • I know more about this game than you will ever know. And I know that this guy is not the next Dirk or Yao or anyone on that level.

  • Agreed. They're both very unique players. Yao was picked #1, Dirk was 9th but definitely would go first in a redo of that draft [1998]. Yi's probably not going to be as dominant as those guys are. But he's going to be an above-average offensive center his rookie year. That's worth a top-5 pick in this draft.

You could argue him at 3, although I think the Hawks should take Conley there. I don't know how you see him as anything less than the best offensive center available.

  • It's understandable that you think you know more than me. But from this small sample size, it doesn't seem that you know how to argue. You're just ridiculing the guy, not really pointing out any deficiencies, which is hard to do from this video, admittedly. So maybe you should, I don't know, make a point rather than validate your opinion by saying you know more than me?

I'm curious to see if you have anything substantive to say.

  • Wow. This guy is so overhyped it's ridiculous. Those aren't "moves", those are simple basketball plays that everyone who has been playing the game for more than a year should be ablw to do. Ooo he made a dunk! He got a rebound! HE'S 7'. He better be able to grab a dam rebound. And i get it, he can make a three with a 5 foot guy "guarding" him. That's great. Every player in the NBA makes threes during warm ups. People are going to be very disappointes when this guy plays in the NBA.

  • rmb he is 7foot. and this video is just showcashing basic moves.. lol. if u guys wanna see him play u guys shouldnt even be watching this video, there are plenty of game plays.

  • he didnt go right into a pull up jump shot. for a video showcasing fundamentals this was pretty one sided (left). Are we supposed to assume that he can go right because he is right handed? anyhow, he will be an impact player because of his length and his ability to shoot the ball.

  • haha, this is probably the most stupid basketball related video i've ever seen.

those aint moves, those are standard basketball plays, if you cant do that, you shouldnt be playing.

But, i think he's kinda good. There are worse players in the nba right now. But he's an oversized SF who will be forced to play PF (he aint got the agility for the 3 spot, sry).

  • YI JIAN LIAN IS 刘川风

  • 你想太多

  • Half the comments here are so lame and clueless. Asif his going to be doing some HotSauce AND1shit.His just trying to show his fundamentals to indicate potential and that he can score points. This ain't a mixtape man...if its tricks that makes u into the NBA...then Rafter Altson woudln't be the only AND1 player to play in the freaking NBA..and how often does he do crazy AND1 moves in a game?

  • Plus the reason for the free throw clip is to show that: a) his a big man and he could shoot free throws like Yao but unlike Shaq and b) his free throw technique is superb- look at the freaking arc...he doesn't just lob it to the hoop but shoots it PERFECTLY high in the air and lets it arc down like a semi-circle...thats seriously a PERFECT free throw technique

  • of course he's no dirk, pau, etc..... dirks the f***ken mvp, but do u kno how bad he was his rookie year?!!? if yi goes 12/5 his rookie yr, he'll be fine

  • If the celtics keep #5 I hope they take him.

  • although I'm not sure rebounding the ball and dishing to the outlet is considered a move, neither is a bounce pass, but I think he will be alright, as long as people don't expect him to pull down 12 boards a game cuz he's a 7 footer

  • He said hell...not he'll...idiots. He didnt say he was better than anybody mentioned He said.... I wonder how he'd do against Timmy.

  • In #4 He double dribbled...thats not a good look for a demo against inferior competition...but being an ATL Hawks fan he's well worth the risk!!

  • I don't think thats a double dribble, he kept his pivot, dribbled once and went up with it, sorta like a drop step but he's facing the hoop

  • When his back is turned to the hoop, that hard sound you hear isnt the ball being bounced once, its him slapping the ball (gripping with athority), i thought it was a dribble too, but it wasnt. So no he didnt double

  • loved the vid! great lighting and photography. simple yet it was really good... hopefully yi will live up to his potential

  • that is a sweet video. so simple yet so cool. who made that? Yi has work to do and it may take a few years but he should develop nice.

  • hell even Timmy??? Sorry but if you think Dwight or Amare are @Timmy's level you're sadly mistaken & I'm not a Spurs fan. But 3 title for Tim & 0 for D&A combined! Nuff said

  • I hate when people ask dumb questions about how he'd do vs amare or dwight.. obviously hes not at their level yet but thas only two players.. he'd do very well vs the rest of the nba so dont take away from the guy just because he isnt as good as amare or dwight

  • wonders how he'd do against Amare or Dwight.. hell even Timmy..

  • hell even Timmy? R u joking... Tim Duncan is better that Amare and Dwight. U obviously dont knoe shit bout basketball

  • Man this guy has the full package and ready for the nba. He has so much talent and speed for a big man. Reminds me of a small forward trapped in a power forward/center body. So much talents. Can't wait to see him play in the nba!

  • China finally got a decent PF maybe someday China will gave a superb PG like tim hardaway

  • Chen Jianghua!

  • i wish i were yi jian lian

  • Jianlian Li will be an outstanding NBA player. He seems to me like a hybrid between Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki. He's faster and stronger then either and more athletic then Dirk. He is very comfortable catching with his back to the basket and has the agility to back down or face up and attack the Basket. To me he is the #2 prospect in the draft behind Greg Oden.

  • Well, he's not stronger than Dirk and he's not better than Pau at catching the low post pass. And he's not better than Durant. Durant has a faster step, and a faster shot.

  • But Durant isn't 7 feet tall.

  • these niggaz need to get some tats on them and go thug on them weed smokin fools in the nba

  • ppl need to stop comparing him to yao ming. yi will be solid in the nba. he's not going to be dominating down low..he's a high post player and has superb footwork and speed for a 7 footer. Good touch too.

  • I'm not impressed, he doesnt seem aggressive enough, the dude defending him sucks. He's OK, I think hes gonna be sitting on the bench.

  • Drills like this was why Darko got drafted before Carmelo, Bosh, Wade, etc.

  • yeah but darko sucks

  • next yao ming?nah...next wang zhizhi maybe

  • He's got very good footwork for a 7-footer -- jab steps, reverse pivots, jump stops... looks like he has a good touch too. Most of the in-game videos I've seen of him he plays within 10-15 feet of the basket. He'll probably have to extend his game out 8 to 10 feet if he's going to be successful in the NBA.

  • i have 73 moves

  • i'm tellin ya'll now, this dude will be good in the NBA...wait until he works out with nba trainers and practices with his teammates..he's athletic, he's got fundamentals, he's coordinated, he can shoot from 15 feet, handle the ball and the ninja is 7'...ya'll are crazy if

  • the guy just has to eat more, sleep more, and live in the weightroom, and then start talking about nba

  • So if I learn these moves can I be a top 10 draft pick too?

  • i guess so... but you have to be 7 feet and 120lbs

  • yes

  • hahaha

  • this guy will make the nba, the reason he shows the these moves is cos there the fundamentals there what you need to get into the nba, cummon what would the big men do if they had no drop step or hook shoot... hes good but can be betta

  • He should be as good as Andrea Bargani right away. He moves better too - more like a 6'7" guy than a 7-footer.

  • I agree, good ball skills for someone his size. Nice touch, good off hand too. He looks like a three. Kukoc?

  • Now Shaq for instanse can't put freethrow in HIS moves compilation ;-)

  • But he can put 4 Championships in it.

  • Really ;-) How come those qualify as moves?

  • now that everyone knows his 18 moves, he wont make it in the NBA.

  • zzZzZZZz...i like yi..but..who is not able to lay one in without real defence?! ..and yea..the freethrow ..i even don't get why they show rebounds..anyways yi should improve his body and then storm the nba..

  • AST710 is right. I don't see how hard these moves are.

  • er.. no offence, but that doesnt really show much skill.

i can pick any person off the street and they can make a video like that lol

  • this aint supposed to be no and-1 mixtape anyway. he's demonstrating the little things that make up a fundamentally sound hooper man, the fuck yall know about some basketball, PLAY HIM

  • This has to be one of the most boringest basketball video I ever seen...

  • He's going to struggle if he ends up in the NBA. Guys will eat him up.

He looks to have an adequate skill set and good height, but must must focus on improving his body for the next several years if he wants to make it in the NBA. Yao has done that and success has followed.

    Can Yi do it?

  • No offense to Yi, but who puts a free throw in a move compilation?

  • he is just 18

  • umm... so good...

  • the futur nba star is yi jianlian.CHINA 4EVER!!
