I have noticed they nearly always change the music. Some world class composer writes a brilliant music score and the hacks in dubbing studios feel the need to change it to something very random.

Конечно, оригиналу уступает. Но в целом очень забавно смотрится. Приятно, что попытались подобрать для озвучки голоса, похожие на голоса русских актеров. А вот музыку действительно заменили зря.

How could they take out that amazing beautiful space music?? This is a TRAVESTY. How ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Professor Newton and Captain Jones? WTF???? And that constant chattering...auuauuugh

Because this feature recently was made in the early 1980's, it's the only one in the "Stories From My Childhood" series where the dubbing actually sounds like it belongs there.

Ugh, this version is absolutely terrible. Scenes are cut out, the music is changed, the characters are made completely different!

The original Russian edit is now up on Youtube with English subtitles; I really recommend that people watch that instead. That version is a classic; this is a piece of trash.

In order to dub over an older movie, you need to mute all sound and replace it with new music, in order to dub new dialogue over it.
