  • Zote is three times bigger then F-N. How well did Zote work compared to F-N?

  • @cheskydivision I worked really well! I think I like it better than the FelsNaptha.. the only problem is that I have to order it online since I can't find it anywhere where we live. So, the cost goes up. I can get FelsNaptha for less than a dollar a bar.

  • I am so please and happy that I see more and more familes going ECO. Great Job. Points for you very please. Your chidlren and sweet, God bless each one of them and you.

  • @dianemerq Thank you so much!

  • @theganttgang u are very welcome.

  • zote mexican soap bar : )

  • Another Tip I have is if your into highly scented soap like Tide or Gain yu can add a cup to your mixture to make the whole batch smell just lke your favorites. Hope this helps someone.

  • @candylyn25 Thank you.. I will have to try that

  • Very awesome! I've used Zote to wash clothes as a bar so I'm going to try this method also what is growing in the jar by the window?

  • @1msbeanpie - its a potato that was shaped like a heart we found in our bag of potatoes, we decided to try and make it grow into a potato plant for a homeschool project.. lol

  • i have a few questions : How Much do You Use Per load? is it strong smelling? do you use a laundry softner with this ?....and does it fade colors?

  • @MisfitQueen - I usually use 2T per load, and no its not strong smelling at all and I have not had any fading. I sometimes throw in a fabric softner sheet (if I have any) but its usally for the static cling that happens when we use the dryer. I line dry all our clothes in the warmer weather.

  • How many bars of the Zote do you use to make this?

  • @TheMrNoMan2010 just one!

  • If you make it into a liquid can you still use the oxi clean?

  • @dottietobias not sure.. I haven't tried it. I am trying to get a video up of the liquid version, but I need to re-record the first part since it won't upload! Grrr

  • I also add the Oxy-type cleaner to my recipe for the powder laundry soap! You can save money bu purchasing the store brand of this! Also wanted to let you know this: The ingredients of the Oxy-type cleaners (and All-fabric bleach) is simply Washing Soda and peroxide---

What I do when using the Zote soap is to grate it up fine, spread it on a baking sheet and let it air dry for a couple days. . . . then mix it in with the rest of the ingredients.

  • Can you use this in HE front loaders? I have the Felsnapa soap i just haven't made any yet.

  • @MBShrewsbury I think so.. there are no suds, so I think it would work.

  • I am currently making a video for the liquid version... stay tuned!

  • I found the Zote soap for $.98 at Home Depot.

  • @StickStoneBone I have used FelsNaptha before and I got this to compare them.. I like this Zote soap better especially for the grease stains. Works great!

  • OMG,just 2 TBS?Wow.What a savings!Does it work really good on greasy oily spots?Like from a mechanic shop?Thanks

  • @zolumpus I take a little and scrub with a toothbrush if there is a spot that I see.. it comes out fine! I guess you can try and see if its heavy duty enough for a mechanic shop... let me know if you do and if it works! :)

  • @theganttgang Well,I am going to make it.These old laundry soaps have been around many yrs and are still popular,so must work great. Thanks

  • @zolumpus - I of course add a bit of water to make it paste like.. before scrubbing with a toothbrush.

  • @zolumpus My husband used to work for an oil rig company. The uniforms would come out of the wash still completely stained and the black stains would not come out no matter what detergent I used. Zote is the best! I would grate a little directly into the washer machine and they would come out great with no oil stains. So I definitely recommend it on mechanic shop uniforms plus the bar is usually .99 cents a bar and they are big.

  • How much do you use per load?

  • @RosenYah - I use 2 Tablespoons per load.

  • That was great! I want to know where you get you ingredients?

  • @mamakimb I can get all the ingredients at our local Walmart or grocery store. Both stores carry all the ingredients including FelsNaptha (which is what I usually use). I ordered the Zote off of Amazon because I can't find it around here and I really wanted to try it to compare.

  • You will be a YouTube sensation!!!!! Clever woman!
