I forgot to add, with the honourable exception of Joseph Calleja the only great voice in this cast.

At least the production remains basically true to the libretto but I;m afraid the singing and conducting are at best mediocre and at worst damn awful which seems to be more and more the norm these days at the once great "Met"

although i believe that the Maria Callas is the best Lucia of all times, i must say that i am deeply moved from the performance of Natalie Dessay and i think that she is a very fine Lucia of our time better than anyone else who dares to confront this role!
