I think that most of these people know what they have, they just don't have the money to restore them, so they just set. It is sad that they just set, but what would you do if they were yours? It takes MONEY to restore a car. I know... I have a few. It's easy to talk about restoring one of these, it's a whole different matter when it comes to actually doing it. All the same, I'd like to have several of these cars in this video.
this should NEVER happen to a mopar. but the ironic part of this video, those are all expensive cars even in that condidtion....stupid people who do that should just give them to me
I knew a lady that had a 68 GTX, would'nt sell it cuz it was her husbands and he died back in vietnam. The car sat in the grass for 30 years and rotted away....very VERY sad. But, every time she looked at that car, it reminded her of her husband...and I respect that. People are worth more that cars...
Tenstarsplus!!! I had a 1967 Hemi GTX convertible with torqueflite back in 1972, and fell on hard times and had to sell it for $150!! Wish I knew then!!! There were only 9 of my style made!!! I still have the pink slip to it though!!! Made this big tough ol' guy cry to see what happened to these classic cars!!! I'll be 67 yrs old tomorrow 7/19/10, so I remember the heyday of all of these!!! Thanx for posting!!!!
WTF!? YOU DO NOT LET THAT HAPPEN to ANY of those cars! ESPECIALLY the orange SuperBird, if I saw that I wouldnt give a damn if the guy wouldnt sell it to me or anything I'd call my friend dayne and say GET THE TRUCK AND BRING A TRAILER!
Fun and interesting choice of artists. Petula Clark actually did many Plymouth commercials in the 60's, you may find them around. They also sponsered one of her TV specials.
How's this possible that someone could park these muscle cars, that are sought after today, and rare to find in original condition, are left to rot? Just blows my mind, considering the prices some these mopars are fetching today, at auctions, etc. I mean when these cars were parked did anyone not think 20 or 30 years down the road, that these muscle mopars, could be worth a fortune? Or maybe there wasn't the room to store these cars inside, what a find that would be to find all these in a barn.
the dukes of hazard wasted way more cars what a shame and im a gm man is there such a thing as a gm man we all love chryslers and fords we just hate when someone wrecks them or abandones them there all beautiful cars period right!!!!!!!!
thankfully steel prices have gone to shit lately so grab 'em while you can boys! we gotta save as many as our yards will allow! i knew of alot of sattelites that got crushed in SC when the prices were like 12$ a hundred pound. hell they were stealing farm tractors to kill for the scrappin price. dark days for us motorheads
ok I'm in the UK but right now right here I make it my mission to come to the US as soon as possible and restore as many of these as I can lay my hands on....who's with me?
These cars are part of American history. They could be rolling museums. In cases where some idiot is just letting them rot with no intention of restoring them there should be legislation that allows for these cars to be confiscated and auctioned. They need to be protected just as classic buildings are.
Yep the mopars like my dad. Hes fixing the demon/roadrunner and his son in laws duster lol. blew his radiator on his superbee doing a burnout and that also has to eb fixed
I don't believe that I am crying. I had a 68 R/T Coronet that I restored in my garage - engine - paint - body (frame off) - I saved her from a guy that abused her by leaving it behind his house uncovered - I was lucky to save it before it was too late....hope these had the same fate - mine looked like the one @ :38 but it had barrels and tires on it - I actually sneaked in and his yard and washed it and put wax on it when he was not hometo protect it before he finally sold it to me
