@Darabka Regardless, I'd like to think he's an alright person, though my willingness to see the good in everyone has backfired on me before, so... *shrug*
@JoeSomebody2 I was the same way. Now I realized the simple fact that there are going to be people that won't like you and you shouldn't try to make them like you. In case of a supervisor, just be as polite as neccesary and be done. Focus on people that actually like you and on yourself, you will be doing yourself a big favor.
Not sure how you could have asked how to do better and it was construed as defensive, but then again some people can twist anything around. Have a great New Years!
@kimberkali77 I could have simply been a means to unsettle me than actual seriousness, though it's just as likely to be an actual thought on their part. Too many people these days are used to dealing with others unwilling to accept responsibility for their actions, and they take every retort (aggressive OR passive) as a challenge to be struck down with authority. Not my cup of tea. :S
I hate coworkers who come out with lines and labels like that. Its almost like you can't win. If you do defend yourself then it plays to that. If you don't then he wins. Watch out for this guy, people like that try to take a pop at you here and there.
@30somethingdude I'm always of the mind you can use logic to unscramble any situation. Anyone with sense would realize the truth if presented appropriately, and so...keep strong in the face absurdity. And should there be no one with sense around, at least you know who not to give your respect to. ;)
@JoeSomebody2 yeah, i agree. only accord respect to those who deserve it. as cynical as it sounds, i agree with a quote i heard years ago and thought was dumb at the time but with age i know agree with it: "assume everyone you meet is an idiot until they prove otherwise"!! :D it may be harsh but so often you are proven right, sad to say. too many people are illogical and just ride on their (bad) emotions.
So it sounds like that dude may have been trying to start beef with you, but you killed that with kindness. It sounds like you aren't the one with the issue. Oh and "first comment" !
@Klankumz The work life has likely gotten to a lot of people in the area, and sometimes rustling someone's feathers is the only way they can feel alive. And I suppose kindness/confusion works in the same way a joke on someone really isn't as funny if they don't understand the joke.
Also, A CURSE UPON BEING FIRST!!! You shall crave delicious Egg Nog this day! >:(
Im guessing was having a bad day and let it out on somebody who was above of. Thats just a dick move.
