i have an 88 ram 4x4... believe it or not im having a hard time finding parts. I need a steering gear box, i have found them for a 2 wheel drive, but can not find one for a 4x4. ive been to every parts store, and junkyard within 100 miles, I can not even find the right one online.. any ideas?
this is my old truck. i did all the work to it, the body, the fog lights, the tires and rims, the 360 on the air breather, eveything! it still has my oil gauge and the sticker for the drilling rig on the dash! i have a ton of pictures and all the bills and everything for this truck still. if you still have it, let me know. i can give you ALOT of her history.
@Blaise1988 i have a truck like yours, and ive got a problem. never had any trouble, but the past month while i was driving it just shut down, its done it 2 times, it dose not spit or sputter it just shuts off, then it will turn over fine but not start, its not the fuel pump, ive seen its getting gas, ive pulled a plug wire, and ive got no spark, but after it sits about 8 hours it starts and runs great for about 2 weeks. ive had it checked out at 2 good places, they found nothing. any ideas?
If one rain cloud was in the sky they'd ilde like shit. Mine did everytime it rained, I couldn't go over 40 without the truck nearly exploding. It was terrible, the timing was completely off. First time it happened I thought the truck was garbage, then it was sunny out the next day and it ran like a dream. Long story short, those distributors are sensitive, try replacing it and the wires with aftermarket ones and see what happens
@Blaise1988 And the ingeniously designed the distributor cap to be directly under where all the snow and water drops when you open your hood LOL. I've gotta 91' Power ram 150, great trucks tho.
hey blaise, how familiar are you with these 88's? a friend of mine over heated the shit out of his and i replaced the radiator, now it idles like shit! any suggestions? thanks!
Well you can sure fuck up alot of stuff when you over heat any vehicle. Could have warped his block, fucked up his pushrods or messed up his carb so that's a tough one to pin point. One suggestion, these old LA engines are well known for terrible distrubtors.
thanks for the reply, it turns out the the shitty computer went bonkers because it got so freakin hot under the hood! so i disconnected the battery opened it up and when things cooled down it went back to normal. (i hate early throttle body) thanks again.
lol no bro, she's previously an Well Drilling company's in Northern Ontario. So pretty base stock, only 1 heater vent and a 1 speaker sound system. I don't even have vents on the dash, those were also still optional lol. Just a basic 4 spd on the floor

Its actually not hard to believe at all. not many places carry parts for our old trucks and there is almost no aftermarket.

Hey buddy, no unfortunately not. It's home is now in Woodstock somewhere, sold it over a year ago now. Never regretted any sale more in my life lol!
Did you put the dual air breather on her? I thought that may have been stock but I'd never seen a 360 with one like it.
I'd still love any info you go on it or pictures..., haven't stopped looking for another like it!
