If you want to see the ultimate TFF fan, check out the singer of this music video. He appears to be wearing an autographed "Songs From The Big Chair" tour t-shirt by Roland and Curt throughout the whole thing. Their keyboardist even plays the Emulator II played by TFF during that tour. Paste the phrase below in the search box.
Let's also remember that this was just before Curt and Roland split up so natuarally they'd seem a bit annoyed by each other. I'm so glad they reunited!
Rolie is so funny. He can be tired or irritated, or both, always managing to say something clever and funny. He has that innate sense of Perfect Timing that makes or brakes a joke.
@Butterflyneverlands I haven't commented in awhile, been busy. But have you seen they used that song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World. . . " in a Payless shoestore commercial. It just seemed wrong, but at least they are getting paid for it in royalties. Or at least they should be.
Given that Roland is the songwriter for most of their songs, why shouldn't he be the one to speak a bit more often than Curt? I like Curt and think he is a sweet guy and while I'm glad they are back together, Roland has always been the driving force behind TFF both lyrically and vocally. There simply would be no TFF without Roland.
p.s. I would LOVE to hear Roland sing Mad World. I think he would kick butt singing that song! I wonder if he ever has and if there is a video of it somewhere...?!

I don't agree with all of this love stuff, especially when it comes to the Beatles. I mean Paul McCarthy has more money than god so what would he know. I think they should rename the song "All You Need is Money". They were wrong, money can buy you love and almost anything else.
I don't care what you say, it's da truth. Just ask Paul McCarthy or any celebrity for that matter to change places with a 65 year old homeless woman living on the streets in New York. I can guarantee you he won't, but I am sure the homeless woman would jump at the chance to have his money, home etc.
I had seen Curt do an interview by himself and he seems more relaxed. Maybe Roland is more an emotional person, not sure. Or maybe he is just self-conscious talking about the songs or music. I think Roland is cuter, but Curt seems like he would be much easier to deal with as a person.
Roland has always been the brains behind Tears For Fears... kinda like the boss. I think Curt waits for Roland's reactions or lack there of before answering anything.
A fact is a fact... Roland is unbeatable. Not sure about him being painfully shy. To me it seems more like he just hates interviews, hates being criticized and constantly judged. I would certainly hate it, too.
I hear ya Ajittffcure, Roland has always dominated everything TFF.Even when they come out to the stage when they perform, Roland is always in front. For someone who says he's painfully shy, sure doesn't look like it. Nonetheless, he is addictive to the ladies!
Roland! What a control freak! Poor Curt looked like he was ready to tell him to go to Hades! LOL.Personally, I think Roland has always known he was ''better'' musically than Curt, and has always sort of given off that vibe. I like them both though.
You have a valid point, DaintyDeema. I quite agree with you. Roland does convey that feeling that he is more artistically inclined than Curt (which is true). It is probably a kind of an ego-centric attitude. But, I personally think Roland's approach to music making is more interesting than Curt's (judging by both their solo efforts and TFF's songs). TFF wouldn't definitely be the same without Curt. But the soul of TFF wouldn't exist without Roland.
Uhm yeah, lets remember one thing here please. Roland has always been the brains behind Tears For Fears and he usually does not dominate interviews as he never enjoyed giving them! :)
Well, I think that the reason Roland usually dominates interviews is because he always has something either interesting or funny, and sometimes sarcastic. He is just a please to listen to. I don't want him to shut up ever.
They look miserable here, especially Curt. It's so obvious at this point that he's fed-up with Roland dominating interviews and just wants him to shut up. Body language speaks volumes.

It's cool how the young people in the '80s were yearning for the '60s. And now here we are in 2010 yearning for the '80s!

Well look at Roland. He's dominating the entire interview and Curt's not getting a word in edgewise.

Yes he writes pretty songs but they wouldn't have the same depth of character without Curt. :P

I believe the lady in the background said something like "let's do that again" after Curt said his part... and that's when Roland said "no no"
