I still remember being in my nan's apartment (RIP) in 2005 watching a 1997 video of Kids classics that included Wizadora and Thomas the tank engine. I think I was only watching it for that ghastly Fun song factory (the old one that made videos not that fucked up version that included Ashton from JLS) but the opening of Thomas was sweet. Man I hate being 11.

The early episodes (almost all based directly on the original stories by the Rev W Awdry) were all about teaching kids morals and values. The Reverend was very smart to incorporate the lessons into a story kids would enjoy. So, all due respect, the old Thomas was teaching children. Unlike most things on TV these days, it never was simply junk food for the mind.

People I think you're all overreacting a bit.

You're getting so worked up over a new theme song. Things move on and get changed every now and then. If the same theme was played over and over again for over 20 years or so, it would get boring.

Don't get me wrong, I love the original, it will always be my favourite but you're making a big deal out of nothing. The concepts of style is different (I don't like that too much) but stop losing it just because it's not the original theme.
