  • Yep, they're Australian all right (although we just call them Lamingtons, not lamington cakes - that's a dead giveaway that it wasn't a real australian recipe!)

If you were going to do a cross-section, you'd ptobabl be best off diong it out of an ecru-coloured clay, wrapping it in the brown cla then continuing as you did (just because they're not brown at all on the inside.

We have them all the time, but I think it's one of those things we take for granted that everyone has/knows about.

  • I'm sorry it wasn't done properly. I've never had them or heard of them. This was a request and I did get to see a photo of one. They look delicious!

  • can you use sugar or salt instead of using the "snow"

  • I've had mice eat on my clay before so I'd worry about using real food.

  • lammington is one of the yummiest and easiest things to make, just buy a sponge and cut it into squares. make a chocolate sauce, a thin one, sometimes i just make one with cocoa water and sugar. dip the sponge in it all over, and then cover it in coconut. sooo yummy. you can make a rasberry one too, and you use a rasberry jelly that is still hot and not set instead of the chocolate sauce.

  • Ooooooooooooooo Angela this is soooooo cool!!! Do you think you could make a tutorial about how to make a teacup out of polymer clay, perty please? I know thats probably easy for some people but I suck! LOL!

  • I'll list it and try... but I'm not too good at those.

  • no its dessicated coconut not sugar .. nom nom nom delicious .. lol!

its vanilla cake ... u dip & roll it in chocolate .. then roll it in coconut .. nom nom nom nom .. lol!

I think its an Australian cake..ive eaten it when i was there .. thaaaaaaaanks . looks like the real one

  • what is a lamington cake?
