oh i know. it IS the toughest battle. especially when you have to fight rao and susano.when i was finished battling all the demon gates,i only had like 20 bones and slips when i had 99.every other battle in okami is aseasy as pie! even yami.but this was the toughest.
This was perhaps the only challenging fight I had in the game. The others at worse required me to use some healing items until I worked out how their attacks worked, but with three Nagis it was pretty horrible as they would all fire their knifes at different times.
Ultimately, I just SPAMMED cherry bomb 3 with infinity ink to get past them as I hadn't prepared a ton of deflection items.
I say the first demon gate challenge is a pay day when it comes to demon fangs. last round is nothing but black imps, each imp drops 3 demon fangs on floral finish, floral finish is just a stab, so easy.
I did this just a moment ago. Before today I had no idea there were battles this tough in the game. It's ridiculously hard without vengeance slips and godly charms, items I had never before used in the whole game. And before this battle you have to take on multiple Wakas and Raos. The enemies those gates throw at you are actually tough, and we're talking about Okami here. They all slow down due to the mist technique though.
One stray bead to go, I'm unable to locate the one in Hana Valley.
Have you tried to finish the game with only 3 inkpots and 3 hearts (I dont remember the real name) and no upgrades (no other than the new weapon that you get by defeating bosses)? The game gets a lot more hard. but the devil gates are nearly impossible, I cant get any further than the third gate from this row of devil gates the other ones are hard too but possible
you remember your training for "digging champ" where you broke open a stone thing? Those are around and there is one for each main area at least. You fight a bandit spider first time, then these sets of 10 demon gates each with improved monsters and getting harder and harder.
basically for the Nagis i used mist A lot and cherry bombed the shit outta them.(having cherry bomb 3) it worked really well and kept them at bay and away from me. and whenever one of them turned gray just let loose on em(and when theres like, one left.
I spammed the swords thing and used veil of mist and no slips cuz I used all mine on the battles before this one and no sake or whatever to make me stronger. I hated this T_T
Eh when I got to the final fight I had like nothing left. Only bones. Because I had used all of my slips on the other battles and all of my sake or whatever. But I finally beat it about a month ago or something like that. It was a fun challange!
Argh, I can't believe how close I was! Damn. (well, that makes me feel a little bit better) I'm so glad the Nagi's are the last one... I was so afraid I was going to have to fight Oki again... (not that I died against Oki, but I didn't wanna fight again! Too long!)
@Ouendan2 It's ok if you beat the last boss of the game you will get 2.000.000 yen (if you didn't even damaged...) I did that too and i have brown rage...
this is the hardest fight in the game, difficult than YAMI. you've got to give everything you got. those multiple NAGI are difficult to face at once they evade faster and hit harder power slash 3 is quite useless it takes almost no damage. but it's fun though.
not that i died doing the kusa 5 fight,but it was thougher than that i guess,i didn't did this fight yet man,but i don't think it's the thoughest,though 1 nagi was hitting though and had alot of hp,mabye it is the thoughest fight.
btw,yami is absolutlly not the thoughest enemy in the game never mind how big that ball is,yami is 1 BOSS AND THIS IS 3.

It thought the demon gate trials weren't that hard at all, the main thing to do in this fight is using a couple of vengeance slips, steel fist sakes and 2 glaives. They should go down in no time. The race with kai was waaaay harder in my opinion.
This was pretty rough, but I had tons of fun with it!

And about the race with Kai... I got annoyed with that. Mostly because the one and only thing that constantly made me lose were those purple vine wall things. That's it! It made me mad. xD
yeah those two.......were cupcakes compared to the final one. It took me like a hour to beat(with breaks of course) when you do do it. make sure you have plenty of karmic slips, infinity stones, large bones, loads of large exocist slips(forget the real name)steel fist sake and steel soul sake.
it's actually not that hard, just really tedious. i think it took me about forty minutes. you just have to be sure to stock up on Karmic Backlash slips and lots of Exorcism Slips beforehand. and plenty of extra health. and one extra brush technique that helps a lot is the lightning strike one you get from the tower in sei-an.
I've got say, this is the hardest part of the game. No offense, Yami, but c'mon... 3 Nagis? 3 Wakas? 3 Evil Raos? There's just too many... Also, Vengeance Slips are your best friends here.
there's an easy way to beat blockhead grande: just use a digital camera/camera phone - record a video of the dots as they come up! Then refer back to it while painting

Anyway, he shoot away small swords right? If you cut the sword they will fly back at him. I don't know how much damage it deal to him, but it's something. It use to be pretty helpful for me with all kind of monsters that likes too shoot things at me. :3
Besides, it's the fastest way of dealing damage. It's really fast and the beads are shot non-stop. Another way is to use bullet ink to stop them from casting swords. From time to time you can use an exorcism talisman, the weakest. These are to make the nagis fall and make them vulnerable to bullet ink to deal some good damage with one full bullet ink attack. This is not the best way but I like trying new things n n
the best way i know( which i have used) is to equip the best two shields. Fire elemant is needed for the first phases. Also with the 'double-shield-power-up-skill', an attack will do as much damage as a charged sword. Be sure that all weapons are gold dusted. also stack up on a lot bones and scroll that prevent damage. use the ink pot for the mist effect to slow time and when they're not attacking unleash 1 combo.if you try to unleash more hits they'll block them or roll them.
Nice. My strategy is having tundra beads as main weapon and the next strongest rosary as sub (those that are purple). With both rosary equipped and the technique that makes them stronger when equipped together. Now with vengeance slips you just spam the sub weapon. You think that it's slow but you can cancel the lag. Just jump, fire, land, fire, jump, fire and so on. Sometimes you'll fire 2 attacks after landing. This combination is the strongest in the game, believe me. Others are weaker.
You can get them in Sei-an city, the big city, at the weapon werchant's or in the ark (preferably in Sei-an, of course) After beating the owls you can enter the ark whenever you like. After all, that's the best time to do all the unfinished quests. In order for a demon gate to appear, you have to beat the one before that. You have the first one in Ryoshima coast, the other in northern Ryoshima coast and finally this one. Sorry if some names are wrong. I finished Okami a long time ago n n
Hmm it's not weak, it's just to slugish.You have to use charge attack to do a major damage.
I gotta say sword is hard, that's why i rather use than beads(fast attack and weak but rapid damage) and mirror(normal damage, better speed than sword).
Yeah, it's not always worth a full charge, but if you get a full 5-hit combo, you'll still do a ton of damage (especially if you have the Dojo strength increase for double-glaives, which I do.) Nevertheless, since I played on the Wii, after this battle, my arms were pretty much numb...
The thing that i hate from Beads Weapon is When you do rapid attack you cannot move until you cancel it. So it'll be a waste of vengeance slip. Anyway this is my Opinion . . . ^^
@faiz625 Yeah but I love Tundra Beads to death! I love how easy it is to rack up Godhood in unbroken chains, plus it's so convienent to hit an opponent across the battlefield and still be a safe distance away. Not to mention the timing is so simple. Rosaries are my favorite. But I do like to have a sub-reflector like Solar Flare to deflect against enemy attacks. I HATE using glaves I always screw up the timing and I always seem to charge when I want to strike. That's my opinion. =)
This is my last bead. I'm still stuck on those bull chargers, haha. I was having trouble with the Ryoshima Coast bead, with those ogres , but all of these Nagi's are making my complaints pretty worthless.
I actually did finally finish this fight...Hard, but I found the race with Kai the hardest one. I never knew about the fact that you could clear out the tree's, then restart the race and the trees would be cleared. Or about the headbutt and you will automatically start running.
I actually thought Blockhead Grande was the hardest one. Mostly because, the dots disappear too quickly and there's too many of them. I had to use my friend's cell phone to kill him.

just a tip: fight multiple gate round #1's (just exit the cave and come back) to gain money and then stock up your items with around 1,5-2mio yen.
(You could cain for 1 round gate #1 120k yen, so just fight the first round ~10 times and you'll be fine!

1.) Vengeance Slips? Aw... I thought this was a no item run...
2.) It doesn't seem like you have Swords Dance?
3.) You didn't abuse Veil of Mist too much.
4.) I would recommend using fully charged Helm Breakers if you're using Glaives.

I like to use solar reflector(for Close Attack) and Tundra Beads(For far Attack)
I kinda don't like to use Thunder glaive cos it's kinda slow even if it have a great damage.

Hmm it's not weak, it's just to slugish.You have to use charge attack to do a major damage.
I gotta say sword is hard, that's why i rather use than beads(fast attack and weak but rapid damage) and mirror(normal damage, better speed than sword).

i bought 70 vegeance slips and 70 large excorsism slips and 50 medium and 20 small u think i need any holy bones of any kind even with that stuff

actually solar reflector does more damage than thunder glaive.

Yeah, it's not always worth a full charge, but if you get a full 5-hit combo, you'll still do a ton of damage (especially if you have the Dojo strength increase for double-glaives, which I do.) Nevertheless, since I played on the Wii, after this battle, my arms were pretty much numb...

Solar Reflector(main) and Tundra Beads . . .
The thing that i hate from Beads Weapon is When you do rapid attack you cannot move until you cancel it. So it'll be a waste of vengeance slip. Anyway this is my Opinion . . . ^^

1. You have as much time as you want. The ark isn't going anywhere.
2. Maybe you're in the wrong hole?

@faiz625 Yeah but I love Tundra Beads to death! I love how easy it is to rack up Godhood in unbroken chains, plus it's so convienent to hit an opponent across the battlefield and still be a safe distance away. Not to mention the timing is so simple. Rosaries are my favorite. But I do like to have a sub-reflector like Solar Flare to deflect against enemy attacks. I HATE using glaves I always screw up the timing and I always seem to charge when I want to strike. That's my opinion. =)

This was one battle where I was honestly a little outclassed; I ended up using lots of Vengeance Slips and some Cherry Bombs.

This is my last bead. I'm still stuck on those bull chargers, haha. I was having trouble with the Ryoshima Coast bead, with those ogres , but all of these Nagi's are making my complaints pretty worthless.

yeah, I had the same situation, kind of. I did this before doing the one on Ryoshima. After 3 Nagi, a few ogres? haahaha.. NOTHING TO ME.

I actually did finally finish this fight...Hard, but I found the race with Kai the hardest one. I never knew about the fact that you could clear out the tree's, then restart the race and the trees would be cleared. Or about the headbutt and you will automatically start running.

Yeah Race with Kai is one of the toughest stray beads mission. Been there done that and definetly dont want to do it again. ^^

I actually thought Blockhead Grande was the hardest one. Mostly because, the dots disappear too quickly and there's too many of them. I had to use my friend's cell phone to kill him.
