  • This is sooo funny!!!!

  • Tagalog was declared the official language by the first constitution in the Philippines, the Constitution of Biak-na-Bato in 1897.The1973 constitution designated the Tagalog-based "Pilipino", along with English, as an official language and mandated the development and formal adoption of a common national language to be known as Filipino.

  • However, in practice, Filipino is simply Tagalog.[

  • In secondary school, Filipino?Taglog and English become the primary languages of instruction, with the learner's first language taking on an auxiliary role.

  • In 1937, Tagalog was selected as the basis of the national language of the Philippines by the National Language Institute. In 1939, Manuel L. Quezon named the national language "Wikang Pambansâ

  • this is a comedy show not a dispute on what is the national language lolz...you folks are so controversial lolz...its pathetic.

  • I think that mas maraming filipino ang nakakaintindi ng tagalog and besides whenever a foreigner visits here in the philippines, they usually learn tagalog not bicolano or bisaya because most of the filipinos speak and know tagalog

  • I think that mas maraming filipino ang nakakaintindi ng tagalog

  • Tagalog is a dialect. DUMBASS

  • "My father died in a rolling hill" baka cguro "my father rolled down and died in the hill" or "my father fell down in a cliff" yata

  • Hahaha, I've actually met an English speaking taong grasa 8 years ago sa QC circle, he spoke perfect English sunod may accent pa.

My dad said he used to be a politician pero nabaliw.

  • Lanja ung tawa ni wendell 02:45. dun ako natatawa ee xD

  • Filipino is the ONLY official language of the Philippines and Tagalog is only a part of it...

  • sa mga nauna nag komento!! ah.. ewan ko sa inyo!! pinapanood ko ito para sa komedya at hindi para sa kung ano man opinyon nyo sa salita natin. e di kayo na nga ang magaling at alam nyo ang kasaysayan ng salita... mag post kayo ng video nyo ng tungkol sa salita, hind yun nambabasag kayo ng komedi trip!!! mga nag dudunong dunungan kayo...

  • It's "Filipenis".

  • Filipino is the official language of the Philippines

  • @msfluffybutt really? based on experience parang hindi.. feeling ko kasi dito sa metro manila. naku mga tao talagang trip na trip mag english. Sa province parang di naman masyado.. OPINION lang... Nakakapunta naman ako probinsya eh purong purong tagalog sila..

  • @MegaChinav we all have our own opinions. As for me, i grew up in Manila and now in Davao, and i could definitely say they speak better English here than Tagalog. Same goes in Cebu and Cordillera Valley.

It's like learning Tagalog became their 3rd priority, English is their second, and Cebuano/Bisaya their first, therefore they know English better than Tagalog.

I've studied in Bulacan where people there are pure Tagalog, but honestly, learning Tagalog is really tough compared to English.

  • i have no idea what this video is about :]

    football.

  • arguing about tagalog or filipino, this vid is somewhat racist, questioning about how people in the provinces speak english...gaaaaahhh

    ano ba naman kayo?!

joke na nga lang ng isang gag show seseryosohin nyo pa?!

wag pikon...pra nman taung hindi pinoy nyan eh :D

  • i can't believe what I'm reading... lighten up guys.. it's a freaking joke.. Laugh! if your offended then screw you.. I'm laughing anyways.

  • Dont u think some of the subtitle are a bit racist?

  • I am from the Cordillera, too. I agree that the highlanders can speak english fluently but it's not just people from the mt. province. I am from benguet (Ibaloi- kankanaey tribe) and we are also known for our profeciency in english.

    .

  • @samsung36ful LOL, panu tayo aasenso, if we don't accept facts and the decisions of our ancestors?

  • @samsung36ful ayaw kasi ng ibang tao na gamitin ang Tagalog na salita kasi may sarili naman silang mga lenggwahe. Kaya para mas madaling makapag introduce ng salita na payag gamitin ng mga Filipino ay ginawa ang FIlipino na language.

  • 2:15 - 5:19

  • WTF pati ba naman yang filipino - tagalog pinag tatalunan pa... eh anu ngayon kung "tagalog" yung ginamit nila? kahit anu pa sabihin nyo, naka tatak na sa mga pilipino na "tagalog" is a language ... gusto nyo lang ipalabas na matatalino kayo! :-)

  • ang tagalog ay galing sa dalawang salitang taga ilog

  • natatawa ko sa pagpigil ng tawa ni wendel haha!

  • Look at 1:26 there's a mic

  • They used TAGALOG term in order to understand by most of the viewers, because most of the viewers know that TAGALOG is the language most Filipinos used.

  • Filipino is the noun that refers to the Philippine national language and to the Philippine people (Filipinos); it is also an adjective to describe people, things and such from the Philippines (the other adjective being Philippine). The country itself is called the Philippines (currently the Republic of the Philippines; formerly, and actually still, the Philippine Islands) in English, Las Islas Filipinas or simply La/Las Filipinas in Spanish, and Pilipinas in Filipino (Tagalog).

  • @momaimomai11 kala naman neto ang ganda ng sagot ng google ka lang naman. hay naku.. sige matalino na kayo lahat... basta ako tatawa. this show is hella funny. kung gusto niyo ng debate.. nood kayo ng show ni willie marami kayo pag dedebatehan dun..

  • Filipino is not the official language ;p and those "7 dialects" are languages! Filipino is a fail language created in the 1930's to make a language for all Filipino's but since we are rich in cultural diversity then it is never used.

  • kakatawa grabe hahaha=)

  • Tagalog is a human, living inside and near manila.

    Filipino is the language.

  • If you study Filipino subject. Tagalog was the first official language of the Philippines, followed by Pilipino and then Filipino. It's actually in the law. Also, Filipino is what you can call for the citizens of the Philippines. Pilipinas is what most of the Filipinos called their country as like the Germans called theirs as Deutschland and not Germany.

Germans call their country Deutschland and not Germany.

  • @elvisniperx tama ka bossing.. hirap lang kasi kausapin minsan ang kapwa natin ei.

  • ang sarap...hehehe

  • there seems to be a confusion between language and dialect, Tagalog is the language of NCR and nearby provinces such as Bulacan and Batangas. The dialect would be the differences in how Tagalog is spoken in these areas e.g different accents, and particular words. So the dialect of NCR is the standard and most familiar to all since it is the basis of Filipino. The dialect of Batangas is commonly referred to as Batangueno, it has a different accent than Manila Tagalog and uses the word "alae".

  • oo nga, tagalog ay dialect din... Nagpaaralan namin sa Speech Communication yan.

  • @zoekabowee ang gulo mo.... pano maging official language ang 7 dialect?... ang tagalog ay dialect din...

  • nice video,

no matter what country that happen everywhere

  • nice video,

    that happen everywhere

  • Zoe, so what is tagalog then.

  • dame ko tawa hahaha xD

  • LOL!!! SOCIAL NA PUBRE!!!

  • actually, Filipinos living outside of Metro Manila speaks english a lot better than Tagalog. Considering that Tagalog is not their primary dialect.

  • @msfluffybutt not all Filipinos living outside of Metro Manila are fluent speakers of English. And Tagalog is a language but is a dialect of Filipino.

  • @rodge1892 you kindda got me lost there, "Tagalog is a language but is a dialect of Filipino." WTF does that ever mean?

And what i meant is that compared to Tagalog and English, they speak better in English. Not that they are are fluent in English than everyone else in the country.

And for the record, i know what i'm talking about cause i've lived in both Metro Manila and Davao.

  • @msfluffybutt kasi po, ang FILIPINO ay dapat BUBUUHIN gamit ang mga ginagamit na LENGWAHE sa Pilipinas. Kaya ang TAGALOG na isang lengwahe ay magiging isang DIALECT ng FILIPINO kasi sasaklawin nito(FILIPINO) ang lahat ng LENGWAHE sa bansa.

For the record, I'm also from the provinces and I don't agree that the people from the provinces are BETTER in English. And they don't prefer English over Tagalog or Filipino.

  • @msfluffybutt you're right :) I'm a filipina and I speak English better than Filipino and the other dialect I know haha :)

  • @msfluffybutt i absolutely agree with u buddy!

  • I like this its way funny.

    Maganda ito

  • Filipino and English are the official languages of the Philippines

  • Comment removed

  • FOR THOSE who are offended by ogie's statement. THIS is for you...THE story tells of a man coming from a province who doesn't speak english fluently. DOESN'T MEAN that HE IS REPRESENTING THE PROVINCE it is a SITUATION okay.. and BY THE WAY....NICE VID

  • Nakakalungkot naman ang mga comments! Bakit ninyo pag-aawayan kung ano ang national language ng pilipinas? Nakatira kayo sa Pilipinas pero hindi ninyo ito alam! :-(

  • for the record, TAGALOG IS NOT THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE PHILIPPINES. IT IS "FILIPINO" WHICH CONSIST OF 7 DIALECTS. that is just to clarify that it is not tagalog. :) for those who dont know. no offense intended.

  • @zoekabowee patawa...its not only 7 dialects lol..its only 7 MAJOR dialects..lol..nagmamagaling kase maxado e.

  • @owpqie yup ur right. im not saying that its only limited to but it primarily consist of.. ^^ but i still vie for filipino is our official language.

  • @zoekabowee Set your fact straight please. Filipino or Pilipino is a formal term of Tagalog language. And it is one of the two official languages of the Philippines.

  • @swtsassyangel to some extent you are correct, Filipino is a formalized and standardized Tagalog but based on the constitution, the "wikang pambansa" or national language should also incorporate words from other Philippine languages

  • @swtsassyangel hindi... ang formal term ng Tagalog ay Tagalog pa rin. Ang Filipino ay ang wikang binubuo ng lahat ng lenggwahe o mga salita sa buong panig ng bansa kahit English kasi ginagamit siya sa Pilipinas.

  • @zoekabowee Filipino citizenshio yun, at Pilipino naman yung language!

  • @tessabela the 1987 constitution replaced the national language (wikang pambansa) from Pilipino to Filipino

  • @zoekabowee the official languages of our Republic are English and Filipino, Filipino is based on the Tagalog language and supposedly other regional languages such as Cebuano and not just "7 dialects". It is a misnomer to call Cebuano, Ilocano, etc. as dialects because in fact they are languages on their own. This bias is very Manila/Luzon-centric and has wrongly put in our consciousness that Tagalog is the superior language while others are inferior because they are just dialects.

  • @XanderJz primarily 7 dialects. but not limited to. we actually quite hav the same idea but not totally agree on some specificality of the subject. but yes i did not explain it further as i hadnt known that some filipinos would not know this certain fact. but generally speaking i do agree with u. i just dnt agree with the people who are saying that our official language is tagalog.. tsktsk..

  • @XanderJz yup that is true, im not saying that its only 7 though but 7 dialects are the major ones in the country. i do agree with u maybe u misunderstood me coz i didnt explain it fully but, im just saying that its not tagalog. its a misconception.

  • @zoekabowee But what is the difference of Tagalog and Filipino?

    Tagalog: Ano ang pangalan mo?

    Filipino: Ano ang pangalan mo?

Now tell me, what are the "different words" and "grammatical semantics" in Filipino?

Basically, the government just created another name for Tagalog, but it is still the same language. It's like Spanish and Castellano. Spanish is basically Castellano, just like "Chinese" is Mandarin.

The US even uses "Tagalog" not Filipino.

  • @mangkukulam2010 LOL. ur funny. just because foreign countries acknowledge tagalog. that doesnt mean it is our national language.

Article XIV, Section 7 of the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines specifies, in part:

Subject to provisions of law and as the Congress may deem appropriate, the Government shall take steps to initiate and sustain the use of Filipino as a medium of official communication and as language of instruction in the educational system

  • @zoekabowee uhhmm, Filipino is based on all of the existing languages in the Philippines even words in any other language used in the Philippines like English or Spanish.

  • @zoekabowee ... which consist of ALL the spoken languages in the Philippines.

  • @zoekabowee Filipino is a person dude look it up...... I know its our official language We just call it "Tagalog"

    ..... just saying

  • @Killermode01 tanga din? "Filipino ang ating wika". isip isip onti dre.

  • @zoekabowee if you translate filipino to filipino its tagalog when you translate tagalog to english its filipino

Filipino = a man that speaks tagalog

Filipino = the language of the Filipino's

do you get it now thats why we call it tagalog

  • @zoekabowee Dagdag ko lang mga ser, Tagalog is our NATIONAL language.

  • @elderpumpkin no..FILIPINO is the National Language..and Tagalog is only one of the dialects..!^_^

  • this may be a joke but its a bit offensive to other people... to think that the information about the national language is incorrect... i like ogie as an artist but maybe he should be more responsible...

  • cont.

  • after 0:59. i signed in my youtube account just to express this comment: Ang tagalong ay isang wikang natural, may sarili katutubong tagapagsalita (native speaker)

Tagalog ang wika sa Bulacan, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Cavite, Mindoro, Marinduque, ilang bahagi ng Nueva Ecija, Puerto Princesa at pati Metro Manila..

Ang Tagalog ay isang particular na wika na sinasalita ng isa sa mga etnolinggiswistikong grupo sa bansa.

  • @axurchao maybe u misinterpreted ogie's statement, "from da mountain province" i know that 8's not the mountain province per se in Cordilleras dat he is talking about. bcos bubble gang doesn't intend to degrade sum1 just to make people laugh. :)

  • @redshanks09 do you know the meaning of province?? it's a place right?? whatever your reasons it won't justify!!!

  • @axurchao he referred his to as mountain province because he lives in the mountain... not specifically the Mountain Province.

  • ay diba ang Tagalog ang dialect, FILIPINO is the natl language na hinango lang sa tagalog..

  • HAHAHAHAH

  • my father died in the rolling hills...

  • @nanayko83 wow Kung Nag-aral ka hindi mo sasabihin yan...Isa itong isolated situation pertaining only to the man which Ogie is playing....HE did not refer the wholeness of the province but himself only.. Accept the fact that there are people living in the province who really can't speak english maybe because they were not able to study because of poverty... UNDERSTAND....I"M JUST CLARIFYING THINGS HERE....no offense

  • sa dinami-dami ng pwede makita dibdib pa! agaw-pansin?!? LOL

  • @supamarkzyxe - this is just like "do you not understand what i just said?" Do I have to elaborate it? is it too hard for you?.

  • LOL i love the rolling hills!

  • Although it may seem funny, this is actually very stereotypical and manila-centric. I am from the Cordilleras, and I know for a fact that people from the Mt. Province (though not all, of course) are very much able to speak English well and fluently. In some cases, they can even speak English better than Tagalog.

  • @thedayyuman

yeah. my filipino teacher is ilokano, but he speaks english very well....

I'm from Bulacan yet I am fluent in english. Not all probinsyanos or people from the province doesn't know english, especially here in Bulacan.

  • @thedayyuman - WELL SAID!!

  • @thedayyuman very true....

  • @thedayyuman

So true,, we prefer english than Filipino here in Visayas. I failed 3 times in Filipino class while I get 90% above in English

  • @hexlhieA so true! Filipinos from VisMin speak English as a 2nd language compared to Filipino, my Tagalog friends would even reprimand me for borrowing words from English when I fail to speak the Filipino equivalent of a term, calling me not nationalistic LOL

  • @thedayyuman yeah... i agree...i was actually from mt. prov.

  • pinapahiya lng america nyan ksi mga time na yan mahirap america kya beggar ung amercano kunwari messege ng bubblegang yan matalino

  • got this off wiki :

Filipino is a synonym for or the formal name of the Tagalog language, who may sometimes refuse to refer to their national language as Tagalog-based. Tagalog is also a slang term for the national language.

  • @VannaBanana1984 wiki can be edited by anyone... not a reliable source..

  • @zagshot yeah, IKR. but everyone knows for a fact that in grade school, we study Filipino. not Tagalog. Just like what the website said, Filipino is the formal term for Tagalog.

  • every educated pilipino can speak english is just the accent that make it sound bad...
